A Goal Realized

For many years Enoch has talked about playing for the high school soccer team.
This year, his dream has become a reality.
He tried out and made the team as a goalkeeper.
Being a freshman -and the bottom of the totem pole-
he doesn't see a whole lot of playing time, but when he plays, he does a great job!
I still love to watch the games, and
I may or may not have taken 63 pictures in 15 minutes at this particular one.
I'm pleading the fifth.

A Quiet Christmas

Our Christmas was a quiet simple one this year.  Here are a few pictures of the tree-decorating and family fun.

We had to have a picture taken for the ward Christmas party of our family that still lives at home.  I'm looking shorter all the time.

Soccer is a contact Sport

Enoch had a fun time playing soccer this fall.
He played striker and goalkeeper.
His season was cut short though when  he made a save and the ball broke his wrist in two places.
Poor guy.
He was in a wrap for a couple of days until the swelling went down and then had a cast for four weeks.  After that, he was in a splint for another two weeks.

Traditional School Pictures on the First Day

A Freshman and a Junior....how is this even possible????

Fair Time Once Again

Every year we look forward to the tradition of our county fair.
First comes the fair parade and for us, that is always the marching band.
The boys are keeping up the family tradition started by me I guess and marching with the band.
This year it wasn't long after the boys got their wisdom teeth out, but since Sam only had one, he didn't swell up like Enoch.

Caught both boys in this picture!
Lynae and her grandson Blake enjoyed the candy
Watching the parade with extended family is the best!

Sam's been playing with the jazz band and they play at the bandstand at the fair each year.  It is always a great hour during the day of music and fun.
We love spending time at the fair!

Wisdom Lost

So Enoch had some x-rays done by the orthodontist and we found out that he had all four wisdom teeth - unlike his siblings who had either 2,3 or Sam with only one.  Poor kid.  To top it off, they were inside in such a way that it would be very painful for him when they started to grow roots.  Thus, we decided that we needed to get them out this summer.

He was pretty nervous about the whole thing. Luckily, his Aunt Lynae was able to be there during the whole surgery.
Afterwards, he was pretty talkative, but then got sick in the car on the way home.

His cheeks got pretty puffy, which we deemed normal of course, but then the pain got to be so bad that he couldn't sleep.  Turns out he ended up with an infection and then had to be on antibiotics for awhile.  Though the whole experience wasn't great I kept telling him that he would be so happy that he got them out now instead of in a few years when all his friends will get them out.

Summer Soccer

Enoch played in a soccer tournament sponsored by the Bear River High lady bears soccer team.
It was a 3 on 3 tournament and he and his friends won their age group undefeated.
