back from the alps! it was a really wonderful journey, with the beautiful scenery, and the entire experience with team 1. im really glad i got to know all of you, and lived with you guys for 9 days in the mountains. we got so used to somethings, like pitching and unpitching tents, hand san after everything, crowding around the pot and watching the water boil and helping to pump the fuel, squashing cans, keeping our trash, laying out our things to sun and dry, and sharing food all the time. wraps for lunch everyday, pasta for dinner every night, with us looking forward to instant mac and cheese and instant rice xD
and then our group antics. so used to mel waking us up everyday, and rumin and arnold really hard to wake up, yongx being the best at digging holes, kuang dozing off every time there is a flat surface, kuang and his teeth and his dentists parents, arnold and his noted and his tummy, the guys singing the china national anthem all the time, yongx and kuang and their china and indian accents, shaun and not eating fruits, heather complaining it was too cold at night and too hot in the afternoon, yifeng complaining everytime she has to dig out the first aid kit, cynthia and her chef tips, cynthia and her blisters, inez and her epic colours of her outershell and her track pants that would match her shirts, pamela and her chocolates, and all the melments xD and mr kwak and his yonder (i.e. a stone throw away which is actually 3 mountains away) and ms chan being so nice and always there (:
it was really amazing when you turn back and see the place you've come from and realise how far you have walked. like the middle of the second day where we looked back and saw the trout farm where we started, and MUNC hut where we camped for day 1. and also on day 3 when we turned and saw the camel humps where we had lunch the previous day. and when we were climbing towards basalt temple and we turned back and saw the quaint dibbins hut at the bottom of the valley. and on day 4 where we turned back and saw kilometers of flat plains that we had walked on.
so used to seeing the snow gums in snowgum land, and buttercups and mountain pepper and alpine mint above the treeline. so used to packing every night and morning and snuggling into our sleeping bags. so used to putting moisteriser and lip balm and sunblock all the time. and cant forget all our beanie hair!! and singing the man who cant be moved all the time cos we just wanna camp in our sleeping bags, we dont wanna move. and singing the batch song every time we dont have anything else to sing.
oh! and peeing and shitting in the bushes. not to mention the day when we summited, the guys got to pee into an approaching cloud and pee off the mountain.. best lah xD
all the NOTED and JUSSST EATTTT and good food or bad food, STILL FOOD, as long as it goes into my tummyy and SOUNDS GOOD xD arnoldify and mellify. oh and cant forget the YEAH KUANG YEAHHHH xD

bending in the wind, waving their wings
strong and bright, yet delicate
blooming for those who appreciate
frosty alpine mint
buffered by the wind, but firm
fragrant taste after stepping
resilient; still standing
echo of ancient snow gums
bent and twisted from the wind
fringe of old men's hair in the sunlight
eerie in the foggy night
calling of the mountains
wind on my cold face
sunlight that warms my heart
stowed in my mind as we depart.

but if the snow gums are on fire, it does not mean they are dead.
