Open House!!
ok im back to blog about open house. went there at 10. then i found yu qing and told her to take me to the gym booth since she is an ambassodor and she should know where everything is.. haha:D anyway the gym booth is easy to find because of the big green crash mat:D then when i got there everyone was boredly sitting on the red mats, stoning. i was wondering why no one was playing but i soon found out.. cos there was so less ppl at this year's open house, so there were very less ppl who came to our booth, so we were bored. simone was at the booth, so i asked her to play with me. we did teddy bear rolls, and a random backwalk. and then some cheering thing was going on so everyone ran to the amphi, and the canteen was deserted. mel and i was wondering whether we should go too, and leave the booth empty, but then we decided not. Egoh went to watch and then she came back. charlene too. and then wanting and claire bought vitasoy and they left it in front of the crash mats. and then mel, charlene, ego and i were jumping on the tiny tramp and then the mat slipped forward, and not-very-funny haha the vitasoys spilled. and kena the mat.. uh oh and then i went to some ppl i know and asked for tissue and no one got. so we could do nothing but pull the mat backwards and try to not let it get soaked by the vitasoy. then we continued jumping and playing and preventing the mat from slipping towards the vitasoy. then we heard the ppl in the amphi cheering unite, so we were cheering in the canteen too. some more the canteen was deserted so we were the only ones cheering in the canteen. ego was on the tramp, and charlene and i were at the side of the tramp, and mel somewhere off. some visitors who were in the canteen were staring at us, and some P6 girls was pointing and laughing cos we did the 'ahhhh' that cmu presented the other day. then at the last part, and RAFFLES YEAH! part, ego jump off the tramp and landed on the mat. could have been nothing but she landed so hard that the sides of the mat got lifted upwards and crashed down with a thunderous PIAK. and this added on to the attention that we already got. then the cheering was finished and ppl came back. thank goodness wanting came back and she got tissue so whe wiped up the spill. then the sec ones came back!! karen told me about some handstand kelly did against the toilet sign and yi shan was not very happy about it. but i dun get whats so funny with do handstand and with the toilet sign between the legs. then simone said she had to go to man the ambers booth, and she'll be back later. then more ppl arrived and mel said there's enough ppl to do the pyramid, and so we did many many pyramids. some were successful and some were not. and then chong and bernice came back (they are cheerleaders) and then we took bernice's hair spray can and hid it. i stood with charlene with the hairspray can between us, and ego standing in front to block. then we realised that bernice was no where to be found and so there was no point in hiding the can. then we did a pyramid and kelly stood on top with bernice's pom poms and shouted "join gym" which was not very loud and everyone immediately shouted "louder" but she jumped off already, so too bad. then jessica came! she was wearing CULOTTES and 2006 GYM T-SHIRT and her
YELLOW NAME TAG. so we all shouted 'hi new sec 1!' and she said 'hi!' haha and then we told her that she would get booked because she had an orange hair tie and green socks which are very low.. HAHA :D then etinne came. and we did more pyramids. and then the next cheering session was going on again. and again, the canteen was deserted. and ego and charlene and i were playing with the rhythmic gym apparatus. we were trying to do tricks with the ball but the ball rolls away half the time. and ppl who walked past thought we were rhythmic gymnast and you can see from their faces that they are wondering why we are so lousy. the answer is simple. cos we are not rhythmic gymnasts. haha:D
tben when the cheering session was over, ppl came back. and then we were lying around on the crash mat and mrs wee came. she suggested a handstand competition and who does the longest handstand will win an ice-cream from her. but none of us showed any interest cos we all knew yi shan will win. so mrs wee went away. then simone came back. and then wanting said ppl either go give out stickers, do demonstrations, or talk to visitors. so we all got up and do some things. most ppl did front somers on the tramp. for some reason i cant go forward, so i dint dare to do in case i land back near the tramp and not on the crash mat. then simone and i and ego did cartwheel splits and ego was doing her split roll, which no one else can do. so she named it the ego roll.. XD and then we did more random things and its lunch. and then we ate and then we tried to do a roll of bridges for ppl to crawl through. but ppl could cooperate and we couldnt do a long row of bridge. in the end simone i ego and karen did bridge and charlene crawled through. and then we did teddy bear rolls.
then ann finally came!! and then she got excited at doing stickers. and so she made stickers. and then i made some stickers too, writing my name on stickers to paste them on my shirt. i rote "YinXin <3 gym" and "Yin Xin is cool because she is in gym" and Ann designed one for me that says "Yin Xin is hot. She's a gymnast." this contradicts with the previous one because one says hot and the other says cool.. haha:D and then mrs wee came along again and proposed the handstand competition idea again. and by this time yi shan has gone so more ppl agreed. and somemore mrs wee say top 4 will get ice-cream, so this gets more ppl to agree.. and then each person gets 3 tries, and take the longest timing. kelly got 3.something seconds. karen got 2.2something seconds. i got 2.1something seconds. ann got 1.81 seconds, beating mel's 1.80seconds. so we got top four and we got ice-creams. but she shared it around anyway so its like everyone got ice-creams:D then ann and i decided to go to the chem booth cos she want to grow salt crystals. so i went with her and i made one that was terrible looking and then i made one that is nice and blue. we also tried fire writing. we made one that says "gym :) " and we brought it back to the gym booth to give to them. and then the ppl were making pyramids and then we went back to collect our crystals. mine went wonky and so i decided to stop it growing. the person changed the water and i put it in my pocket. ann decided to wait for hers to grow more. so we went to the physics booth. we played with the magnets and ann took up the challenge of balancing two forks on one finger tip. she was fast because she saw it before. and then we borrowed their ultra long slinky and went to the staircase to play. at first we were at the staircase at the grass area between E block and D block, but we decided to find a longer flight of stairs. and so we went to the staircase at the koi pind area. but it still dint work at climbing down the stairs properly. then mrs leung came and said we should whack it real hard. she did and it went down two step. and then ann whacked it so hard that it flew down 5 steps at one go but in actual fact it only went down 3 steps... heh heh. and then we returned the slinky back to the physics booth. then we decided to go back to the gym booth before they start wondering where we are. and then i took the wonky crystals from my pocket, only to find out that it has turned into vomit in a container. well, not exactly vomit but it looks like vomit. brown and yucky. and then i put it on the table at the gym booth. we did pyramids with the others and jumped on the tramp and made stickies. and then later we went to the science booths again. i wrote "yinxin" on the filter paper with fire writing, and ann wrote "Ann:)" on hers and also wrote another "gym". and then ego and cheryl and karen came and they wanted to try fire writing too. and i went to collect my salt crystal. the blue one. it was quite nice and it dint go wonky :D so i held it this time and not in my pocket. and then i went back to the fire writing side and ego was shoving the filter paper and ann to write she said "you are my favourite senior." and then ann shove it back and said' you are my favourite junior" and then she grabbed me and we ran away. and then before we left i saw ego looking around and saw cheryl beside her and said "you are my favourite junior" and gave it to herXD karen has disappeared, so she dint get saboed. and then ann and i went to the physics booth again to play with the magnets and iron filings. and ann wanted to make a rocket so i went with her. we made our own rockets. while we were making the rockets a little boy came along and fired the rocket that is already made. and then he fired it across the bridge and then they gave him a prize. then very long later we finally finished making our rockets. and then our rocket as too thin so it couldnt fit outside the tube. and then ann came up with this brilliant idea. we stuck the bubble tea straw that they provided into our rockets, and then making sure it stays, we stick the bubble tea straw into the tube, so our rockets hang outside. then we launched the rockets!!! both of ours went over the bridge and it was way way higher and further than what the little boy shot. and ann's one actually went so high that it hit the ceiling and came down. the teacher there said that we were the true champions but its coming to the end of the open house and so miss ning wasnt there to see so we dint get the prize. some more the little boy was being praised like anything and they said he should have been there in the morning to demonstrate. and then we were better and we were silent champions. well, so ironic. but funny:D i think our rockets rock!! ann said that our rockets flew higher because it was second level rockets or something she said it was called. cos it had two tubes, the original tube and the straw. and secondly our rockets had sharp nozzles so it had a streamlined body shaped. the rocket that was originally there had a blunt and round nozzle. then our rockets are also thinner, so ther was less air resistence. so these are the reasons why our rockets are so great.
then ann and i took our stuff and we went back to the canteen. the gym booth was being packed up so ppl have left and our bags were left on the floor. so we hurry up pack everything and then we bused home. (the word "bused" is quoted from Karen:D)
