Candice and Joe's Wedding

In September, Joe and Candice got married.  It was a really nice day.  The kids all looked so cute.  Karleigh was a flower girl and Grayden was the bring bearer.  Grayden took his job very seriously!!!  You can tell in his picture.
After he game them their rings, we went and stood back in the line, and gave us a thumbs up.  It was cute.  Candice looked beautiful!!!

These kids danced all night!  They never stopped.  Even Jackson got in on the dancing.  It was too cute.  Congrats Joe and Candice!

House Progress

I have a bunch of waiting time in between picking up Grayden from preschool and picking up Karleigh from school, so I usually check on my house!  My new neighbors probably think I am borderline stalker, but I kind of am, so I don't blame them.  The house is coming a long, and I am loving the way it's turning out.  I am so thankful that we will be in our house in a few weeks!  I am going to get back so much of my day since I won't be in the car all day.  The kids schools are just down the street from our house.  I think the kids are going to be so happy to have a little space.  Grayden has been sleeping on a mat in Karleigh's room because him and Jackson sharing room just does not work.  I think he will be the most excited to have his bed back!!!  When they started building, they said it would be done Nov. 28, but I know they are a little behind schedule so I am praying we get in before Christmas.
The first few pictures were taking a while ago, but I never posted them.

Master bedroom window.
These are the more recent pictures.  They started to put the roof on today and they should have the stucko on my the end of the week too.  They are also getting a lot done inside the house as well.

I don't know why the pictures turned out weird.  They were on my phone.  This is the master bath.
Our fireplace.  I can't wait to sit next to this bad boy and look out the window and be depressed because of all the snow that will be on the ground.  I am always cold these days.
Living room window.
Ktichen door out to the back yard.
Garage floor.

Lots of wires!

These were taken a week ago, so I am sure they have done more.  It's so fun to see the progress!!!

Happy Birthday Jackson!!

We had so much fun celebrating Jackson's Birthday.  He wasn't sure what was going on, but he loved all of the attention.  We took him to the mall to crawl around at the play area there.  Then, we went to McDonalds.  After that, Jackson same home and took a nice long nap.  When he woke up we partied!  Katie, Steve, Savannah, Sophie, Evy, Kevin, and Christina came over.  We had pizza and opened presents and ate cake and ice cream.

He loved these new jammies he got.  He kept hugging them and rolling around with them.  It was so cute.

Check out his new ride!!  All of the kids had a blast playing with his new toy all night.

He was so cute with his birthday cake.  He was a big old mess!!!  He had a nice bath afterwards.  We love our Jackson boy and had so much fun celebrating his birthday!!!

When Karleigh and Grayden were born, I wrote them each a letter.  I never got around to writing Jackson's letter until his birthday.

Dear Jackson,

Happy 1st birthday to you!  I cannot believe it has already been a year since you joined our family.  I meant to write this letter a year ago, but time flew by.  The day you came into this world was so special.  Me and Dad fell in love with you the second we saw you.  You are so precious.  Karleigh and Grayden were so excited to see you.  When you met them for the first time it was so special.  You were meant to be a part of our family.  They were both so happy to meet you and hold you and love you.  It was very apparent that there was a special bond between you and Grayden.  It surely must have started in heaven.  He was only 4 years old when you were born, and yet he was so protective of you.  He didn’t want to leave the hospital and his eyes welled up with tears when it was time to go.  He didn’t want to miss anything about you.  Even Grandma Pickett said it was nothing like she had seen before.

You have been such a blessing this past year.  You fit into our family perfectly.  You have the sweetest personality.  You love to be around people.  You especially love when people laugh at you and whenever anyone is laughing, you join in and act like you know exactly what is going on.  It is truly cute.

You hate to be in confined spaces.  You hate being in your car seat, high chair, or anywhere that you cannot be free go wherever you would like.  You really don’t even like to be held.  You want to be down on the ground.  This is hard for me, as I would love to cuddle with you all day, but I take what I can get.  You give me loves, but they are short and sweet.  You hardly ever lay your head on my shoulder.  You like to be turned around so you can see exactly what is going on.  You love to explore, and as of now, you explore far more than your brother or sister ever did.  If I turn my head, you have already emptied another drawer.  You are everywhere and you aren’t even walking yet.  I have a feeling me and dad will have our hands full with you.

You like to be a part of everything.  You love playing with your siblings.  Whenever I set you down, the first place you go is to their room to play.

You are just one happy boy.  You have such a cute personality and are so full of life.  You hardly ever cry.  You love to be thrown up in the air and you have the BEST laugh.  You are super ticklish, ecpecially right under your chin.  I love it!

You would think that by the 3rd child I would have this whole mom thing down, but I certainly do not.  I do think that I am a bit more relaxed with you than I was with Karleigh and Grayden and I am able to enjoy your baby hood a bit more because of it.  While I don’t know everything about being a mom, I do know that I love you more than anyone every could.  You are such a special person and have such a special spirit, something that will stay with you forever.  I am sure I will make so many mistakes, but I promise that I will try my hardest to be the very best mom for you.  Before I even had you, I knew that me and you would be very close!

Here is my advice for you.  Enjoy your life.  There is so much good and beauty in this world.  Always, no matter what, look for the good.  There are going to be things that get you down, but don’t let them.  Your attitude can determine so much of your happiness in life.  Make sure to have a good one.

If you want to be happy, be good.  As long as you make good choices and stay close to your Heavenly Father, you will be okay and you will be happy.   I know there are great things in store for you.  I pray with my whole heart that you will stay on the straight and narrow and make the choices the Lord would have you make.  Get baptized, go on a mission, get married in the temple, and always live in a way where you will be worthy to do these things!

Be kind.  There are enough mean people in this world, don’t be one of them.  Look for the best in people and always look for chances to serve.  You never know what people are going through, so try not to judge them, just love them and forgive them.  We all make mistakes.  And to quote your grandma Pickett, “Always take the higher road.”

Work hard.  Your daddy is one of the hardest workers I know.  Follow in his footsteps.  Just know that hard work and dedication can get you anywhere!

Oh my sweet little Jackson, I love you so much!!  I am so happy that I get to be your mom.  You are a sunshine in my life.  Holding you truly makes me feel warm and peaceful inside.  Stay little and keep your sweet innocence for as long as possible.  I promise that I will do my best as your mom!!!  This last year has been so wonderful with you, and I cannot wait to see all that you accomplish in your life!  I love you more than you know!!

Love ,
Mom

Gray's Birthday

Grayden had a great birthday this year! Dad made pancakes for breakfast.  After we took Karleigh to school, we went to the library.  Grayden wanted new books and movies and to play on the computer.  Then we met up with Brad and went to McDonald's for lunch.  After that, Gray had to go to school.  He was so excited to go to school because he new he would get a crown and a goody bag and that his friends would sing to him.  After school  we came home and got ready to party.  For the 2nd year in a row, Grayden is obsessed with Batman, so everything at the party revolved around Batman.  We played a couple games, ate dinner, opened presents, and had cake and ice cream.  It was a really fun night and Grayden loved it!  I can't believe he is 5!!!
I made this pinata   It took FOREVER!!!

I got to color a lot in preparation for his birthday, which was all sorts of fun for me.

Happy Birthday Gray!  We sure love you!!!
