First Day of First Grade

Karleigh started First Grade today!!!!  She was SO excited this morning!!!  She looked so beautiful and grown up.

I have really been looking forward to getting back in a schedule and haven't really been too sad about school starting.  Whenever I hear moms say they are sad that their kids are going to school, I think they are a little crazy.  This morning though, as I was walking Karleigh into school, I reached for her hand, and she swatted it away.  I totally caught me off guard and I looked over at her and I could tell she was a little embarrassed, and then I realized how much she is growing up.  It made me so sad.  I may or may not have got in the van and shed a few tears.  I am so happy that she gets to go to school and learn and have fun and meet new friends, but it seems like just yesterday she was a little baby and now she is a beautiful little girl who embarrassed to hold her mom's hand.  Little stinker.  I am so proud of her and I can't wait to see everything she will accomplish in her life.  I love you Karleigh girl!!!

Girls Night and More

On Tuesday, the boys in the fam had a boys night playing Halo, which is weird to me, but it did mean that I got to have a girl's night with the girls in my fam, so it all worked out!  It was intended to be a craft night, but it ended up being a bit of a beauty salon.  Christina's sister, Kendra, cut Katie and Abbie's hair and Christian dyed Katie's hair, and they both did a great job.  It was a really fun night.
There were a few crafts that took place.  I bought a bunch of frames from the DI that I am going to paint and make a little collage with.
This beautiful pictures was inside one of the frames that I bought.  Karleigh loved it, and thought she would spice it up a bit.  I feel like this picture might give me nightmares.  It's now being proudly displayed in Karleigh's room.
On a completely different note, grocery shopping with 3 kids is never fun.  It's stressful and I really don't know why I do it.  I love that Smith's has little carts.  It makes it a much more enjoyable experience.  I am sure all of the people around me enjoy my train of carts in each isle as well!!!

We had back to school night today.  Karleigh met her teacher, who is Mrs. Fullmer.  She seemed really nice and I think it will be a great year.  I was a bit disturbed to hear that Karleigh would have an hour of homework every night.  Holy cow...when I was in 1st grade, life was much simpler!!!!!!! Karleigh said that her teacher seemed really happy, and she is really excited for school tomorrow.  We painted nails and Brad gave her a father's blessing, which are 2 essentials for starting the school year.  She is such a special girl and I look forward to this next year, homework and all!!!

Photo Dump!

Today was one of those days.  My kids woke up out of control, and continued that way for the rest of the day!  It was so rough!  I thought I would post some cute pictures of them, so I could remember just how much I love the little squirts.  We ended the night on a high note, and everyone seems to be in a much better mood, so I am crossing my fingers that tomorrow goes better!!!!
Last Monday was Katie and Steve's anniversary, so I got to watch the kids.  They have so much fun together!!

Cute bathing pictures.  Jackson loved the bubbles.  He really liked to eat the bubbles the most.  I love my blue eyed boys.
Our house has been puzzle crazy this week.  I've never had too many puzzles around the house, mostly because my kids lose all of the pieces.  We have a little price box that the kids get to draw out of every now and again, and they keep picking puzzles.  I have loved it.  They spend so much time sitting quietly putting their puzzles together.  I think I will stock up!

On Sunday, Brad was grilling some chicken and Grayden and Jackson played with each other through the windows.
This is my Grandma Pickett.  I have so many great memories with her growing up.  Me and the kids went to visit her today.  I really wanted a pictures of her with my kids!  Karleigh and Grayden had fun talking to her and enjoyed all the treats she gave them.

This week, Karleigh starts school, so I am sure I will have lots of pictures to post!!!!

Sunday Pictures!

Last night before I went to bed, I peaked in on Jackson and thought he looked so cute laying there cuddled with his blanket fast asleep, so I took a picture.  He is growing so fast.

I always want to take pictures of my kids before church, but we are usually rushing around, and I never have time.  We had a few minutes this morning so I brought them outside, and of course they would not cooperate.
We went to our new ward in Smithfield today.  Our house isn't going to be done for a few months, but we didn't want to go to 2 different wards, so we are just going to go to church there.  Everyone was super friendly and we are excited to get to know everyone.  We even got invited to an ice cream social that our neighborhood is putting on this Thursday.  Woohoo!!
I really hate Sunday dinners.  They take forever to make and then there is a huge mess, and I always ask myself if it is worth it.  I guess it is though.  I always loved my mom's Sunday dinners when I was growing up, so I guess I better do it for my kids too.  Today, Karleigh was my little helper in the kitchen.  She helped me make homemade rolls.  I used Christina's recipe and they turned out delicious.  We have so many left over too!!!

Shopping

Today me and Karleigh went shopping for most of the day.  She got to pick out a couple new outfits for school and my mom gave them some money to buy an outfit, so we headed to the stores.  Karleigh was so fun to watch.  She thought everything was cute.  She got some new earrings that she is so thrilled about.  She is getting to the age, where it is fun to go shopping, just me and her.  Towards the end she was whining to go home, but for the most part she was really fun to be around.  We picked out some clothes for Grayden too and got them each a new back pack.  After shopping, we went out to dinner.  We went to Golden Corral.  It sounded like a good idea at the time, but now we are stuffed to the brim, but the kids loved it.  Karleigh told me that, "This is going to be a wonderful dinner dream come true."  She also told me the dessert section looked like the chocolate factory.  All three of these kiddos were hyped up on sugar by the time we left.
One of the shirts I got Gray were too big, so after dinner me and him headed to the mall to try and find an outfit for the first day of school.  This is the shirt he picked out.  I tried so hard to sway him in another direction, but he was not going to walk out of that store without his Mario shirt.  He was pretty happy!!!

They are so excited for school to start, and SO AM I!!!!!  I am ready to be back on a schedule!!!

Random Pictures

These are just some random pictures from the last few days...
Karleigh was my little work out buddy the other night.
This pictures turned out so freaky.  We went night swimming this week.

Savannah had her birthday party today.  It was wild and crazy!!!  She is such a cute girl and I'm so happy I got to be there.  One of the many pros to moving to Logan!!!

Bear Lake

I love Bear Lake!  I am so happy that we live close to it now!
There was a red sunset one night.  The picture doesn't do it justice, but it was pretty!

My cute grandparents!

I took this picture for Christina.  Mr. Speedo taking a dip!
Karleigh spent most of one afternoon tying people up!

Christian was being a horse.

I could spend all summer at the lake.  It is so relaxing, and the kids love it!!!!

Sick Baby

On Sunday night, I noticed that Jackson felt pretty warm and he ended up having a pretty high fever.  We were planning on going to Bear Lake for a few days, so I got him into the doctor on Monday, assuming that he had an ear infection again, so that he could get on some antibiotics before we left.  Well it turns out he has hand, foot, and mouth disease!  Sounds gross, right!?  I was pretty freaked out when the doctor told me.  I guess there has been a big outbreak in Logan and it's super contagious.  He said that my other kids have probably already had it.  He had sores on his hands, feet, throat, and his bum had a rash.  He also had a fever and a runny nose.  It was rough.  Yesterday he finally started to feel better.  It was pretty sad.
He spent lots of time napping while we were at Bear Lake!

Mr. and Mrs. Pickett

On August 4, my little brother, Kevin, and Christina got hitched.  We are so happy for these two.  They make a great couple!  Plus, I got another sister out of the whole deal!  The wedding was wonderful.  On the way to the temple, Jackson pooped his pants, and the poop ended up all the way down to his feet, so that is why he is missing pants in a lot of the pictures.  After the sealing, we stopped at Target and got some replacement pants.  The sealing was so nice!
My cute mom and dad.

After the sealing, we went to the luncheon.  We ate good food, watched the wedding video, and listened to a few speeches.  Christina's siblings talked first and then Katie, Abbie, and me gave a little speech where we roasted Kevin a little bit and also talked about what an awesome guy he is.  Then the dad's both said a few words.  It was a really nice luncheon.

After lunch, we had some time to kill so we went back to the hotel and relaxed.
The receptions was really nice.  Christina's family put so much work into their beautiful backyard, and it was so worth it.  It turned out great.  I hardly saw my kids all night they were so busy running around playing.

This picture melts my heart!!!  They have such a special relationship.

After the reception, we headed to Richfield where Brad's dad got put in the bishopric.  I am so glad we could be there.  I know Brad's dad will do a great job.
