Jackson...3 months!

Today, Jackson is 3 months old.  I can't believe how fast these last few months have flown by!  I have loved   every second with this little man.  It makes me sad that he isn't a newborn anymore.  I miss his sweet cuddles and how he would just lay asleep in my arms.  He is getting so big!!!!  He is at a really fun stage.  I always tell Brad that when he smiles, he smiles with his eyes.  He scrunches up his whole face with a big smile.  I love it.  His laugh is the best too.  We have to work pretty hard to get him to laugh, but when he does, it is pretty awesome!  He has the sweetest little voice and I love it when he talks.
I still think he looks a lot like my dad.  I think it's in his eyes and his perfectly round head.  Speaking of his head, he had another appointment with the physical therapist yesterday, and his head is down to a 3 mm difference.  It started at 7 mm, so there has been a big improvement.
When Karleigh was little, she used to put her fists up in the air, and just stare at them.  I am so happy that Jackson does the same thing.  It makes me laugh!!!  I guess he is just trying to figure out his new body!
I love watching my kids sleep.  They are so sweet and innocent when they are sleeping.  Now that Karleigh and Grayden are a little older, especially on hard days when I feel beyond frustrated, I like to peek in on them.  It reminds me how special they are and I usually feel pretty guilty for getting so frustrated with them :)
Jackson is a pretty good sleeper.  He usually takes about an hour nap in the morning and a 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon.  He sleeps anywhere from 6-9 hours at night, and usually eats and goes back to sleep for a few more hours.  We still have him sleeping in our room.  Him and Grayden are going to share a room, and I am not quite ready to have him upstairs, alone with a 4-year-old, while I am downstairs.
He is a good little eater.  He eats 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours.  He is still really spitty.  That is one thing I hope changes soon!!  He is in size 3-6 month clothes, and some of those are getting a bit snug.  He is usually a pretty happy guy, but at nighttime, he gets a bit fussy some days.
He is so sweet!  We all love him so much!!!

Weekend in Richfield

This weekend, we went to Richfield.  It was a nice and relaxing weekend.  We left on Friday night and got there around 8:30.  We spent the night visiting.  On Saturday, we went to Manti to meet cute baby Blakley.  She is the tiniest little thing.  She is so cute.  She had to be under bili lights while we were there, but we did get to hold her for a second before we left.  After that, we went to Brad's grandparents house and visited for a while.  I took 1 pictures this weekend and it was on my phone and it turned out pretty bad, but these kids have so much fun playing together.  I wish they got to play more!
On Saturday night, we put the kids to bed, and me and Brad went to see, We Bough a Zoo.  It was SO NICE to go on a date with Brad and we loved to movie too.  On Sunday, we went to church, ate yummy dinner, watched a movie, visited, and then headed home again.  We love weekend getaways to see our families!!  It is one of our favorite things to do, and since our families don't live in St. George, we get to do it quite often!

Karleigh's Cap

Back in December when we took the kids to the dentist, we were told that Karleigh needed a cap on one of her teeth.  It was going to be a pretty penny to get it done, so we went to a different dentist and we ended up paying $200 less.  I am so glad we shopped around!  We went to get it done last week and Karleigh did so good at the dentist.  She was so brave.  She told me in the car that she was really nervous to get her cap, but as soon as we got in the office, she did exactly what the dentist told her to do.  She got some laughing gas and did great.  I asked her how the laughing gas made her feel, and she said it made her feel like Strawberries, and then she said it tasted like strawberries.

She is very proud of her cap.  She couldn't wait to go to school and show her friends!!!

Family Fun Day

Last Monday since Brad didn't have to work and the kids didn't have school, we had a family fun day, and it was lots of fun!  We started off the day at Fiesta Fun with some arcade games.  Karleigh and Grayden love this place.
After Fiesta Fun, we went to lunch at Subway, and then headed to the movies.  We love going to movies.  We went to see The Adventures of TinTin.  We all thought the movie was great.  The best part was that I got to hold Jackson the entire time while he slept.
After the movie, we headed over to Jumpin' Jacks.  Karleigh and Grayden both said that this was their favorite part of the day.  Me and Brad got to sit and relax while they played...

I love how happy Karleigh looks in this picture.

After Jumpin Jacks, we headed to dinner at Chili's, and then went to visit Grandma Dody and Grandpa Norval.  It was a really great day.  I love my little family!!

Quote of The Day

During family night I asked what happens if you don't keep the commandments.  Grayden's answer was...

"It leads to bad happiness.  It means you're really mad and you punch the wall open."

My Husband, The Model!

We went to Richfield this weekend and I was looking through some old pictures of Brad and I stumbled along some modeling pictures...haha!  I guess Brad's mom's friend had them model for a glasses ad in the newpaper.  I love it!  Also, Karleigh looks so much like Brad to me!

Brad is the one in the blue sweater.  I love how Bryce and Brad have to share a bike in this picture.  Also, I love how they have sweaters tied around their shoulders with jean shorts on.
Brad is wearing the red sweater in this one.  This must be where Brad's love for Oakley Sunglasses came to life.  He realized how dang good he looked in them!
Another thing that is a bit disturbing is how often Brad is dressed up like a girl as a kid.  This is just one of many pictures I found.
This is one of my favorite pictures.  Cute little twin brothers who are still the best of friends.  So cute.  Brad is on the top in this picture!  I love old pictures.

Jackson is 2 months....and 19 days.

I am a few weeks late on this post, but better late than never.  Jackson had his 2 month check up on December 28 when he was 2 months and 1 day.  He did great.  He weighed 13 pounds and 5 ounces (92%).  He was 24-1/2 inch (93%).  His head measured 40-1/2 cm (62%).
He is smiling and giggling and talking, and it is so cute.  I love this stage!!!  His head is still a bit lopsided, but it is definitely doing better, and we are still going to physical therapy once a month.  Last time we went, his head went from a 7mm difference to a 5-6 mm difference, so there has been improvement.  Sometimes I can't even notice it.  It is crazy how much it can change from day to day depending on which side of his head he slept on.  Karleigh and Grayden still give Jackson all sorts of attention.  They love making him smile and giving him loves.  So far the adjustment from having 2 kids to 3 kids hasn't been a huge adjustment.  That might all change in a few months when Jackson starts crawling, but I don't even want to think about that!!!  We have started to call him WAD, which is a mix of Wade and Brad.  We think he is a pretty good mix of my dad and Brad, who knew that mix would make such a cute kid!!!

Jackson slept all night last night for the first time!!  He slept from 9:30-6:30, so a good 9 hours, and then ate and went back to sleep until around 8:30!!!!!!  YAYAYAYA!!!  Let's just hope he keeps this up.  It was so wonderful.

Fiesta Fun

Last weekend we had a little Fiesta Fun!  We went mini golfing and played some arcade games.  Karleigh and Grayden definitely made up their own rules during the game...Whoever got the ball in the hole the fastest would win.
Jackson spent the night all bundled up in the stroller sleeping.
After golf we played some arcade games.  I love arcade games.  Then Karleigh and Grayden got to pick out some sweet prizes.  After playing, we went to Bear Claw for dinner.  We had never been there before and it was super yummy.  On our way out, the guys sitting next to us commented on Brad's Aggie hat, and we started talking and figured out that my Grandpa Pickett baptized him.  He said he got baptized the same day as my aunt Carolyn and that he grew up right down the street from my grandparents.  Such a small world.  My Grandpa Pickett died right after Karleigh was born, and I sure do miss him!!!

Reading

Jackson definitely does not lack in attention around here...He is very loved by his brother and sister!  Sometimes, he is a bit overwhelmed by all the love and needs a bit of space, but not today.  Karleigh sat on the couch and read to him for about 20 minutes today.  It was so sweet.  He was talking and giggling, and Karleigh loved every second of it.

I am so proud of Karleigh.  She is doing so well in school right now and she is doing so well with her reading.  She just sits and reads her books for almost an hour every day.  She loves it.  Yesterday, in the car she said the cutest thing.  She let me know that she has 3 brothers and 2 dads, Grayden, Jackson, and Jesus, and her dad and Heavenly Father.  It just made me smile.  On a different note, there is a little boy in Karleigh's class who she has somewhat of a relationship going on with.  I have told her over and over and over again that she can't have a boyfriend and that she is too little to be worried about boys.  Yesterday, she let me know that this certain boy told her that he is falling in love with her.  WHAT THE HECK!!!  I just want Karleigh to stay little forever!!!

And to end this post, my cute baby Jackson.  We went for a walk/bike ride today and he got all bundled up.  He is smiling and giggling and pretty much steals my heart every time I look at him.  He is such a good baby...during the day...From about 6-9 pm he is pretty fussy.  Two nights ago he slept for 7 hours straight, which was wonderful, but last night he woke up again.  Hopefully soon he will be sleeping all night every night.

Jackson's Blessing

What better way to spend New Year's Day than blessing baby Jackson.  It was such a special day.  He was blessed by Brad and surrounded by 2 great grandpa's, 2 grandpa's, and 4 uncles who love him very much!  It was so neat to see them all walk up there together.  Jackson has so many awesome men to look up to in his life.  Brad did such a wonderful job.  I felt so much peace as Jackson was blessed with many great things.  I felt so grateful to have so many loved ones there showing their support.

He looks pretty mad in this picture, but he was perfect during the blessing.  He didn't make a peep.
My wonderful mom bought Jackson his blessing outfit and got this blanket made for him.  I am so mad at myself because I hardly took any pictures of Jackson on his blessing day.  I think I will have to dress him up again and take some more pictures of him.

We had a little dinner after the blessing with lots of yummy food.  It was a great, happy day!!!  Thanks everyone for making it so special.
