New Years Party!!

We had a fun-filled New Year's Eve. We had some yummy food. My mom and dad made the best prime rib ever. It was seriously so good. We also had a billion appetizers, and let's just say, I ate WAY TOO MUCH!!! But it was fun! Our best friends, Heather and Jason, just moved near my parents, so they got to come over too. It so much fun to see them. We played Dicecapades again. The girls won, of course!!! Karleigh and Gray didn't make it to midnight, but I was okay with that!! The Girls!

We really are in the picture!!!

Right after midnight, we started watching Glee. Katie got Season 1 for Christmas, and we watched that and Season 6 of The Office all week long. I wanted to stay up all night to finish, but I didn't make it. I took a few naps during the episodes, and then went to sleep around 2:30 a.m. That is about the time we went to bed all week. I had so much fun. I have such a wonderful family!! Thanks, mom and dad, for such a fun week!! We love you guys!!! We left on New Year's Day around 10:00. Of course, there were tears. With me, there are always tears :) The ride home is never fun...But the kids were good and we made it home around 2:30 a.m. We slept in, unpacked, got Christmas put away, had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler, and played a little Rockband. Now it's back to real life!! Here's to a great 2011!!!

Jazz Game!

Santa treated us to tickets to a Jazz game, and tonight we cashed them in! The Jazz didn't play too hot. The score was 89 to 100. We were definitely one of only a few Jazz fans there tonight.

Funny story about Katie...Ever since the carousel ride today, Katie has been feeling nauseous. Right as the game was starting, Katie whipped out a plastic bag and started barfing. The lady in front of her turned around and looked at her with pure disgust! Then, she whispered it to her daughter and her daughter whispered it to her boyfriend, and they kept turning around to check the barf situation out. The lady kept patting her head, I guess to make sure there wasn't any throw up on her hair. Katie hid her barf bag under her coat, disposed of the evidence, and returned to her seat, feeling much better, and enjoyed the rest of her game. While we felt pretty bad for Katie, the people in front of us, made the entire situation quite humorous.

Thanks, Santa!!! We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carousel and Toys

Today we took a trip to Jantzen Beach to let the kids ride the carousel and pick out a toy with their Christmas money from Great Grandma Dody and Great Grandpa Norval. They were pretty excited about today's events!!

Grayden picked out a Cars boxing toy and a Monster Truck.
Karleigh picked out a Sleeping Beauty baby and a My Little Pony toy.

Karleigh said something funny today, that I want to remember. While the kids were in the bath tub today, Savannah told Karleigh not to worry about her, and Karleigh responded by saying, "I'm not worried about you guys. You are just little kids who don't even know who you are." She is so random. I really don't know where she comes up with the things that she says, but she is quite the gal! Karleigh and Grayden are having so much fun. They are going to be sad when it's time to go home...probably not as sad as me though. I hate living so far away from my family and the visits go by WAY TOO FAST!!!!!!!!

Children's Museum

We went to the Portland Children's museum today. Karleigh and Gray had so much fun. Get ready for a picture overload!!!
There was a room that was set up like a grocery store. The kids got to fill their baskets and then go to the check out line.

There was a room full of big Lincoln Logs. Karleigh and Grayden both built a little house.
There was a veterinarian room. The kids each had a fake cat that they took care of. They washed them and did a check up on them.

There was a super cute water room. We spent a lot of time in this room and left it pretty wet.
There was a little ship to play in.
There was a room full of fake bark that they got to dig around in and play with big trucks.

There was a reading area. They even had a little story time while we were there. Wednesday was big book day, so all of the books that were read were really big books.
There was a room where the kids got to play with clay. Grayden was really tired at this point and had a a few meltdowns!!
There was a face painting station. Karleigh was looking forward to this station from the second she walked in the museum.

There was a big stage with lots of dress up clothes. They put on a little show for us...Overall the museum was a huge success. Lots and lots of fun.
While we were at the museum, Grayden fell and hit his eye on the corner of a big stair. The picture doesn't do it justice, but he has a black eye. Then, later tonight, the girls went shopping, and when I came home Grayden also had a big lip. I guess he was running and fell. Poor guy!! It has been another fun day. I can't believe it's almost time to go home. I am so sad!!!!

Night Out!

After the temple trip, we had a babysitter come over to watch the kids, and my parents took us out!! There were a lot of disagreements about where to go, so we ended up having to have to do a few anonymous votes. We ended up going to Joe's Crab Shack. It wasn't my vote, but it turned out being delicious. Thanks, mom and dad!!!
After dinner, we went to VooDoo Doughnuts. I had never heard of it, but it was quite interesting!!!!! Just take a look at the menu below...

This doughnut was NASTY!!!!!!! Katie like it...I did not!
Abbie and Christian...He flew up from Logan on Monday to spend the week here.
Mom and Dad!
Katie and Steve!

It was a fun night!! It's always nice to have a night out, away from the kiddos!!!
