SLEDDING!!!!!!!!

Christmas night we decided to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler's again. That morning we woke up and went SLEDDING!!! It was pretty fun. The kids weren't too sure about it. They freaked out every time snow got in their eyes. Once we held them backwards going down the hill, they thought it was pretty fun.
I think this picture is funny. Grayden looks like he is dead or injured or something. This is how we brought them up the hill.

Such a fun day in the snow.

Christmas Day

Santa came and spoiled us this year. We had a very fun Christmas. We slept in until about 7:30ish...I was a horrible pictures take though. So here are a couple of pictures from Christmas Day. I remember how much fun Christmas morning was as a little girl, so I love seeing my kids, knowing that they feel the same way. I was really sad when I uploaded all of my pictures from Christmas, and realized that I only took a few. After we opened presents, Robert and Leigh Ann made us a YUMMY breakfast...French toast dipped in Captain Crunch (YUM-O), sausage, bacon, eggs..it was delicious.
Karliegh got a barbie house with lots of barbies and barbie clothes, a box full of dress up clothes, books, an easel, a life-size doll, movie, ponies, PJs, and clothes.

Grayden got a workbench with lots of tools, a farm set, a Handy Manny fix-it motorcycle, tractor, book, movies, cars, PJs, and clothes.

Here the kids are in their new PJs....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was wonderful! The kids were so much fun this year. They knew exactly what was going on and were so excited for Santa.
Christmas Eve Day me and the kids made cookies for Santa and wrote him a letter to let him know we would be spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler's house. We also wrote him a letter to thank him for the presents. After taking some cute pictures of the kids, we headed to Manti where we had our Christmas Eve party. We always have a great time in Manti, and this year was no exception. Grayden was not feeling the love...
But he warmed up a bit...

Santa clause came came to see the kids. I love their excitement.

Grandma and Grandpa Pickett get everyone cute jammies every year to wear on Christmas Eve. It is one of my favorite traditions. The kids got to open their new PJs and a new blanket before we went to the party.

Doesn't Brad looked thrilled in this pictures...haha.

Hmmm, wonder what they are all looking at.

And of course we had to do a little wrestling...
It was a fun, fun night. We had yummy food, mmmmm mmmmm. We played some games, exchanged gifts, and visited, which is always my favorite part!!! After the party, we went to Brad's parent's house and had a little sleepover. His entire family was here this year. We set out our cookies and milk and got the kids to bed so that Santa could come!!!

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

It snowed SO MUCH yesterday. These pictures don't do it justice. In the lawn, the snow was up to the kids knees. I attempted to help Brad out by shoveling the driveway, but I only got it about 3/4 of the way done...too much work. Karleigh and Grayden had fun playing in the snow while I shoveled....

Christmas Sunday

I love dressing my kids up in cute Christmas clothes on the Sunday before Christmas...My mom always did it when I was little too.

I forgot to take pictures, but luckily Grandma Wheeler took some for us when we went to their house for dinner!!!

2 Year Old Boys...

ARE REALLY MESSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As you can see, Grayden has been into pretty much everything lately...

And this picture is just because I think he is so darn cute.

My Boutique

Yesterday, Deidre and I had our boutique. There were 11 different booths there, and this was ours...
It was lots of fun. I am really glad it is over now so I can just enjoy the holiday season...

Santa Clause

Last weekend, we had a family Christmas party with Brad's mom's side of the family. It was lots of fun. We ate dinner, played games, and best of all, Santa came. This was the first year that my kids did not freak out. Karleigh was on top of the world. When he came it, she ran up to him and gave him a hug and told him the things she wanted. Then she sat right in front of him on her knees and waited so patiently for her name to be called. Once she opened her present, she said, "I must have been a really good girl this year." It was so cute. Grayden was a little unsure about the guy this year, but he did a great job on his lap. He never really smiled, but he didn't cry either, so I guess that is a good thing....I just love Christmas with kids...Their excitement is priceless...

Grayden got a tractor and Karleigh got a cute doll. Thanks Santa Cause or bringing my kids these cute gifts.

A poem that made me cry...

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile they said had run the light, that caused the six-car pileup on 109 that night. When broken bodies lay about and blood was everywhere The sirens screamed out eulogies, for death was in the air.

A mother, trapped inside her car was heard above the noise. Her plaintive plea near split the air: "Dear, God, please spare my boys!'"

She fought to loose her pinned hands; She struggled to get free, but mangled metal held her fast in grim captivity. Her frightened eyes then focused on where the back seat once had been, but all she saw was broken glass and two children's seats crushed in.

Her twins were nowhere to be seen; she did not hear them cry, and then she prayed they'd been thrown free, "Dear, God, don't let them die!"

Then firemen came and cut her loose, but when they searched the back, They found therein no little boys, but the seat belts were intact.

They thought the woman had gone mad and was traveling alone, but when they turned to question her, they discovered she was gone.

Policemen saw her running wild and screaming above the noise, in beseeching supplication, "Please help me find my boys!"

They're four years old and wear blue shirts; Their jeans are blue to match. One cop spoke up, ''They're in my car, and they don't have a scratch. They said their daddy put them there and gave them each a cone.
Then told them both to wait for Mom to come and take them home. I've searched the area high and low, but I can't find their dad. He must have fled the scene, I guess, and that is very bad.'

The mother hugged the twins and said, while wiping at a tear, "He could not flee the scene, you see, For he's been dead a year.'"

The cop just looked confused and asked, "Now, how can that be true?"
The boys said, ''Mommy, Daddy came, and left a kiss for you.''
He told us not to worry, and that you would be all right, and then he put us in this car with the pretty, flashing light. We wanted him to stay with us, because we miss him so, but Mommy, he just hugged us tight and said he had to go. He said someday we'd understand and told us not to fuss, and he said to tell you, Mommy, he's watching over us."

The mother knew without a doubt that what they spoke was true, for she recalled their dad's last words, "I will watch over you."

The fire men's notes could not explain the twisted, mangled car, and how the three of them escaped without a single scar. But on the cop's report was scribed, in print so very fine, "An angel walked the beat tonight on Highway 109."

Messy Girl

Karleigh recently has started to clean her own room. At first, she did a great job, and she was so proud of herself after she did it. She would put almost everything in its right place. Last night, while I was at Young Women's, Brad had her clean her room, and this is what she did. EVERYTHING went into the closet. Looks like we have a job on our hands today...

Babysitting

I recently starting watching 2 little girls 3 times a week until 3:30. Laken is 3-1/2 and Landree is 7 months. I was a little nervous to start doing this, but I have really enjoyed it so far. These girls are so cute, and my kids have so much fun with them. I have never seen 2 little girls with such big imaginations. Laken and Karleigh just make me laugh all day. They go on treasure hunts, ghost hunts, dance, sing, play house, dress up, princesses, barbies, and the list goes on. It is so fun to watch. Little Landree, just rolls around making spit bubbles and makes us all smile. I always said I never would babysit, but when my friend asked me, I just felt really good about it, and so far it has been lots of fun! It is actually easier because Laken entertains Karleigh and Gray all day...YEAH!!!!

Did the Elf Come???

One of my most favorite traditions growing up happened during December. My mom put up the countdown calendar and every day until Christmas, Santa's elf would bring us a treat. She did this every year until I graduated. As we got older, we would sometimes find some money in the calendar. Last year, she bought me this calendar, and I was so excited to carry on the tradition. Karleigh was still a little too young to be excited about it last year, kind of like Grayden this year. He is just excited that he gets to eat candy before breakfast!! Karleigh loves it this year though. Yesterday, she was SOOOOOO excited when she found her candy, and today, when she woke up, the first thing she said was, DID THE ELF COME??? I love how much fun holidays are with little kids. I seriously can't wait until Christmas.

Only 22 days until Christmas!!!

Christmas is Coming...

I love, love, love Christmas time. It is the best time of the year. We put up our Christmas decorations tonight. Brad got the outside lights up too. He put them up in the dark, which was a little freaky, but I really wanted to get it all done tonight. Karleigh and Grayden had fun with the decorations this year and even helped decorate the tree. I tried to get a cute picture of them sitting in front of the tree, but it was a failed attempt.

We started a new tradition this year. Each kid gets a Christmas tree in their room. They both thought this was pretty neat. We put them on their dressers so they can't play with them.

I can't wait until Christmas gets here, although I love the entire month of December.

Pheasant Hunting

Every weekend after Thanksgiving, Brad goes pheasant hunting with all the boys in his family. I will never understand the joy of hunting, but it is his hobby. Kelan and Grayden thought it was pretty neat. Karleigh was pretty grosed out by the whole situation. While the boys went hunting, all the girls got to sit around and chat all afternoon, which I am always up for!!! Now I have a pheasant in my freezer....anyone have any good recipes???

Thanksgiving Night

Thanksgiving night was a BLAST!!! Brad won some Jazz tickets at work. They were on the 2nd row. They were part of, what they call, the Lexus Club. The picture below shows how close we were. We were just up 1 row from what you see. We had soft chairs and a little table in front of us with another little TV in front of us, in case we wanted to watch something else on TV. Before the game, they fed us some seriously yummy dinner (too bad we weren't too hungry). Then, during the 2nd and 4th quarter, they brought us drinks, and during half time, we got to eat desert. We got to see how it felt to be a high roller for a night.

Brad's little sister, JaLeigh, is the biggest Jazz fan ever. When Brad found out he may have a chance at winning the tickets, he promised her she could go. Then, he drew for the 4th ticket, so Jordan came too. They were lots of fun to be with. JaLeigh is in love with Darren Williams. When he came out, he was like 12 feet away from us and she leaned over to me and said "I can't breath." It was so cute.
Robert and LeighAnn watched the kids and let them sleep over. The kids saw us on TV, and Karleigh was trying to figure out how she could get inside the TV to come and see us. She is so funny.
The next morning, LeighAnn, me, and Candice went shopping at 5 am. We didn't get home until 2 am from the Jazz game, so I was running on very little sleep. It was lots of fun and I got a lot of Christmas shopping done. LeighAnn took the kids for the rest of the day since I had to work for a couple of hours, and I got to squeeze a nap in there too. They are such great in-laws and I am thankful for all they do for us. My kids always have so much fun playing with them too. In fact, Karleigh made it very clear that she wanted me to leave so she could sleep at grandma's house "lots of nights." Luckily, Grayden was happy to see me, which made me feel a little bit better about my mommy skills.
Thanks Zions Bank for giving us a really fun night!!!
