twelve years...

So yesterday we had our wedding anniversary. Twelve years have gone by super fast, but they have been so fun, wonderful, crazy, and so on. We were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on 8/8/98 (in case you couldn't do the math :)
Outside the temple, with all our family and friends staring at us.
The photographer told us to kiss, awkward...

And here the photographer told us to be serious. What? Serious? Can you tell I'm really trying hard not to smile? Silly man, Jared and I don't do serious.
And I really shouldn't have done my own hair.
I liked it that day, I guess that's all that matters, right?

To many more fun, exciting, adventurous years together.
Happy Anniversary Jared!

the boat house...

So, I'm sure you've all seen this house before, on the way to Hibbard. Well, after passing it a million times (it's on the way to grandma's house), Kate has finally discovered it. The other day we were driving out to Jared's mom's house yet again, and Kate yells from the back seat. "Wow, that is so coooooool! Did you see that mom? There was a boat back there, and there's nooooooo water! That is so cooooool!" She was so impressed.
I'm not sure why the camera is half color half b/w. The kids must have been playing with it.
I'm just glad little things in life still amuse them.

it's growing...

So, this might be boring to some of you, but it made me quite giddy! Enough to pull me out of my Sunday afternoon slump (a slump due to dealing with Gavin's whininess, crying, etc. for three hours in church, if anyone knows how to get a screamer to go to nursery, I'm all ears). I decided to take a look at my garden after dinner, and was very excited to see some progress.
I finally have some green bell peppers.
Spinach grows amazingly well in Rexburg.
The broccoli is getting really tall, but I'm not sure where the broccoli actually grows from.
And since my peas are just forming little pods, Jared's mom sent me home with a big grocery sack full. It took me and the four kids 3 hours to get all the peas out. Gavin and Kate were super cute with their little chubby fingers. I love the concentration on their faces.
Maybe by the end of the summer I'll have more than spinach to harvest. Here's to hoping.
