God bless us, everyone

Dear friends and family,
I just want to wish you all a jolly holiday. I love you and hope next year is wonderful. I am so grateful for my Savior and for his infinite atoning sacrifice. I am blessed to be a mother to 4 of the greatest people the earth has ever known, wife to a truly remarkable man, and friend to the most amazing people.
i am planning to pull this blog out of the depths of hades it has been in and next year use it for its original purpose. To chronicle the happenings of my peeps, because they are funny and sweet and odd and wonderful and I don't want to forget these moments.
Merry Christmas!
Love Marnae

Good day to you

Been awhile, normal for me so we will just move on. Even though I should probably apologize for the large font in my last post. Seriously! Looks like I am trying to make a point while yelling in my loudest rocker voice. Lame and not a little disturbing. Too lazy to edit it or write in complete sentences. So anywhoo.
Here is what has been happening......Jody, Brad and Jack came for a visit, in a word, splendid. We had so much fun playing and talking and laughing. Thanks people you are some of our very favorites
Then a few short days later we headed to Utah for Mattie and Mo's wedding. Crazy, busy, hectic couple of weeks. Love Morgan and her family like a mad hippo loves crack. They are so up our alley. The wedding and subsequent open houses were muey beautiful.
Then Megs came home with me and stayed for a few days. We totes got our craft on and made some fun things for my home. Plus she is awesome and I want to adopt her as my own and have her live with me forever and ever. (mark is welcome too)
Then mom and dad and the newlyweds came for Max's baptism. Super fun. We went to one of our fave spots and I had one of those Zen moments of pure unadulterated bliss at the love for my babes and all the amazing people in my life. Then did the mad dash to get the boys ready for their 1st day of school. Spent hours searching for all of the needed supplies with Els the sicko and Mils the boss. Fun is an overstatement.
Boys love school. Whoosh.
Am trying to get back to reality after all the peeps and fun.Have found some of my lost creativity and am on a mission to make this house a home.
Wish me luck.

Guess what?

That's right you guessed it. We had another birthday at the Bake house. Max turned 8 on August 8th. 8 on 8/8. This boy! Seriously entered the world with a personality the size of a blue whale. He is just a great boy. So very smart and strong willed and sweet and stubborn and fun and conscientious and adorable. He is my cuddler, the one who loves a good back tickle, is Millie's prince, loathes chores to the 10th degree, daredevil extraordinaire, Wii lover, Henry's ally and nemesis, always quick with a compliment, creative, wonderful boy. Love him but the growing up part always hurts my heart a titch. Love you Mugs you add more to my life than words can express. You are a gift and a treasure.

P.S. You without teeth, priceless.

So you don't think we are dead.....

We are not dead.
Just enjoying our summer.
Bake style.
We have been growing
up a little more.
Spending a lot of time at
the park.
Camping.
Swimming.
Taking long cool drinks from the hose.
Playing for hours in the backyard, croquet, badminton, football.
Having lego explosions in the family room.
Enjoying each other's company.
Finding our place in this world.
I love these people.

Eleanor turns ONE!

That's right, my baby is one!

On the 5th of July was the big day.
She is still Miss Mellow. She is sweet and calm and happy almost all of the time. She says mama and um, yum, and ehhh with a point as in "Gimme or take me to the thing I am pointing at". Not a huge vocab but effective none the less. She is very close to walking, just needs a tad more confidence. She is the biggest cuddle bug. Her fave thing is to open the screen door in the kitchen climb to the patio and climb back in, over and over. She squeals with delight, reads books in bed every morning, thinks her sibs are hilarious and just makes our family perfect. We love you fatto face, you are a dream babe.
Happy Birthday Eleanor!

Long time no blog

Hello, No seriously it is me. Do you remember me? Marnae. Girl klutz, mother extrordinot, but still loves her peeps. Crappiest blogger in the land. I am back.

Turns out I am a mover. Awesome. and by awesome I mean not awesome. Turns out that I am not really quick at adapting. But alas, here I am blogging and ready to chronicle all of the past events. Maybe in doing so I can make sense of it all.

For several months I was sans internet. Seriously I was lost. Had to go to the library to do anything internetish and that is super fun with kids and by super fun I mean not fun at all. But now the internet and I have shacked back up. Mind you I don't use that term lightly. We have been catching up late into the night on blogs, trashy T.V. and the like.

So bear with me my friends. I did not intentionally not invite you to my blog. I was on a desert isle of blogglessness.

So welcome and I hope that I can get caught up and keep us all entertained or at least make the rest of you feel lucky you are not as lame as me.

Hugs and kisses, oh I have missed you so.

Love Marnae

Time flies

It is true. Time is just flying by with this little beauty. She has two pearly teeth, rolls like a pro, sits up, says muhma, bwa-bwa, bl0ws raspberries, smiles like she means it, still doesn't laugh very much, loves her bedtime and her snuggie blankies, loves her mama, sissy-face, and brothers, is so mellow and easy(except for when she has Roseola) babbles and talks and watches every move her sister makes. Love her and I am enjoying her more than I thought it was possible. She is a delight and a blessing.

P.S. Still going private, very soon. Need to set some things in order. So please let me know if you want to have a look-see at all the crazy that is me. Leave me your email.

A whole lot.

Well so much is happening in the world of the Bakes. We are practically out of control. Of course I am also very behind on the posting. So here is a little su-um, su-um I like to call "Bakes in the Kitchen", "Bakes in performance" and "Bakes being Bakes" all with a little holiday twist.

Feast your eyes on this beautiful sushi that my hubs made.Love when he gets a craving for something. This stuff was delish.

Also behold, the Bake family gingerbread house. It was almost a total fiasco after the roof caved in twice and the walls turned out not to be very structurally sound. But alas frosting, creativity and sheer gawdiness prevailed. The end result was nothing short of splendid.

Maxi and all of the 2nd graders put on a show that rivaled anything you could find on or off Broadway. Singing there little selves horse, practically puking Christmas spirit. Bravo kiddos.Millie was particularly caught up in all of it and surprised and delighted the audience with an impromptu dance number.
Took no less than 94 pictures of the kids in their Christmas finery with nary a good picture( bad lighting, wrong time of the day, crappy photographer). They either look stoned, possessed, bored, angry, or down-right disgusted. I managed to get two that didn't freak me out.Okay they freak me out a little.

Amelia tried out some hair, turns out she hates it.Eleanor tried out food, turns out she loves it.
Turns out she also loves Lewis.
Stay tuned for actual Christmas post, man, I am one awesome blogger. Peace.

Going Private

It needs to be done. Weirdness is in the air and I am getting a tad bit nervous about having all of myself out there. I know this blog has turned into a sad excuse for a blog, but if you still want to see us in all of our glory, leave me your email. Either on my blog or email me @tmarnaes@yahoo.com

A day in the life.

Including, but not limited to, conversing with your toes.A debonair stare
Channeling Golem
Wacky, top-hairless girl dance.

Comparison

When Henry first started potty-training I took a picture similar to this one. Two boys in BVDs. Now I have two girls in panties. I love it. They are two years and 2.5 months apart. Love the skinny, long legs and the chubby, short ones, too.

Snow much fun

Well it snowed and snowed and then snowed some more. It was beautiful and peaceful. Henry was dying to play but Max was none-to-keen on getting wet and cold. So Henry geared him up in some serious winter wear and they headed out. Lasted for a good many hours until Max had to come in because he was dying from over-heating.If I haven't said it lately... Loving these ages of these boys. They are smart, helpful, goofy, and downright fun to have around. Delightful.
