She's an angel straight from heaven

Because baby girl is so mellow she may be a tad neglected. She only cries if she is hungry, tired, or messy. So she is content to hang out on the floor or in her bouncy chair or in her bumbo. She seems to always be waiting for someone to look at her so she can smile. She has no problem talking to her toys or whatever else is in her line of sight. On this day I had put her down while I was taking care of her big sis and this is what I found when I was done, little sleeping angel. Man, lucky me.

Who in their right mind?

Who invented mini candy bars? Because whoever they are I am going to kick their bum, hard. Let's take a moment and discuss. Now they are cute and they are just the right size to pass out to trick-or-treaters. They fit oh-so sweetly in your diaper bag, purse, pocket, hand, etc. They come in every flavor under the sun(except Whatchamacallit, which may actually be a blessing). The problem is they play psychological mind games on me. If the truth be told, a couple of minis equal a regular, but my mind isn't buying it. In my head they are babies, and babies don't hurt people(except that accidental head-butting crap). Thus, 12 minis is nothing. I just snarf away. Snarf people, that's right, I said snarf. Now this wouldn't be bad if I was Henry, who has the metabolism of a humming bird, or Liz, who has the work-out ethic of an Olympian. I have neither. I just have the desire to polish off a whole bag of mini Kit-Kats, lay on the couch and watch trashy sitcoms. Is there a twelve step program, cuz my extra 50(that's right 5-0) pounds of baby weight is going no where fast. Plus I may or may not have lapsed into a mini-induced sugar coma earlier today. Will somebody, somebody, somebody, somebody. Will anybody find me.......some willpower to love? For Reals.

Big girl bed

We have done it! Made the transition from crib to bed. We set up the bed and made a huge fuss about what a big girl Millie is(which is a bald-face lie)First night she climbed in hunkered down in her covers and drifted into dreamland. Second night she was up and out of there several times but eventually succumbed. Third night, perfection. I almost want to weep at her growing up but I also love the evolution and development of her little self. I think I have said it before, but.....This gal is one in a million and I LOVE her.

This wee lass

I can not say it enough. This gal is so mellow and sweet. She was just hanging out looking out the window while I made dinner. She is delish.

Rapunzel

Getting out old Halloween costumes is always so much fun.

One last time

Spent some time walking around the lake for the last time this season. There was snow and the lake was very low. Millie kept eating the snow and MMMing like it was the best thing she had ever tasted. Seems as if this summer was a tad skimpy on the lake time. Must be because I was either pregs and crabby or post-pregs and crabby.

The last mile

For reals I am catching up, it is almost too much for me to believe. In fact, the post you are about to witness happened in the month of October. The first week of it to be exact. Don't be too impressed, and by that I mean do be really impressed.

So Matty Matty 2x4 could fit through a 3 inch wide door and is now living as the winter caretaker of a boys ranch. Mom and I decided to take the kids to go and visit and enjoy all it had to offer. We were not disappointed.

We started out at an art gallery with an amazing artist whose name I have
forgotten(because I am a lame wad). I loved her work. It had so much definition and the way she paints fabrics is genius. Took some pics. They all kind of looked like covers for albums. The one of Matt and Millie looks as if they are harmonizing something fierce. Then we drove around a bit(which the kids hated) then headed to the ranch. It was heaven for the kids. We helped Matt feed the pigs and goats, the boys built a fort and played with sticks, we went on a swell adventure in the back of the pick-up to find an abandoned well and a rodent carcass. Then mom bought us all dinner at the local burger joint. Fun day. Matt made it so great for the kids and when your babes are happy, a mother's happiness is not to far behind. Thanks Matt, you are divine and lovely and skinny and a vegetarian and sort of cool( and by sort of I mean totally)
P.S. Thanks also to Elv my BFF who is always willing to hang out with me and mine and is just so darn fun to be around. Love that Mom-O-Mine

Just can't get enough

Millie had to try this again. This time in her favorite stroller. It just keeps getting cuter. Forgive all of the pictures, I just couldn't resist.

BFF

Let me set this up for you. I was making dinner and my gals were sitting on the bar hanging out and giving me pointers. My lovely daughter says to her baby sister, "you are my best friend and I love you the most." I cried and cried. My sister is my best friend too. They are gonna need each other, these two. They are gonna go through it together. They are just starting what will probably prove to be one of the most important relationships of their lives. Love it.
