MIssion Impossible : The Ghost Protocol

Lambat gila baru buat review. Kat wayang pon dah tak tayang gamoknya. Hahaha. Busy ler tak dan nak buat. Ni pon sebab aku dok kat sepital teman baba aku so aku ada la masa sikit. Sorilah Ngah, memang aku bali Kuantan banyak kali, tapi memang aku memerap dekat hospital jek. Lagi pulak mama takde ni, so Baba ni memang my full responsibility la. Tak sempat ler nak jumpa2.

Anyways, I watched the movie 2 weeks back. Tengok kat GSC Alamanda. MI 3 aku tak tenghok sebab aku kuciwa dengan MI 2. Apasal ada jiwang-jiwang. Bosan. Kalau nak cerita cintan, bior betul-betul cintan. Ni cerita spy-spy, pastu nak jiwang2, lembap2 gitu. Tak kose. Bila nengok Mi4 macam ok jek, terus ajak Ed tengok. Cerita gitu senang la nak ajak Ed. Kot kalau nak nengok ombak rindu takder nyer dia nak gi. Aku berani kerat kuku. Hahaha.

Overall, oklah MI4 ni. Fast pace, pastu aku memang suka Tom Cruise. Haiyyoh memek muka dia tu. Dasyat. No wonder one of the highest paid actor, walaupun tak cukup tinggi, hehehe. .Dalam cerita valkry tu dia tutup sebelah mata, so tak feel sikit tak dpt tengok face expression dia fully.  Pastu aku rasa aku suka cerita-cerita yang goes from one country to another, macam MI ni, Bourne series dan yang gitu-gitu la. Tapi cerita James Bond aku kurang minat pulak, oh ya sebab ada jiwang2 sikit dengan hero baru tu. Hahahah. Bila masuk country-country lain mulalah dok meneka-neka dekat mana dan pernah tak aku sampai situ. Muahahha. Padahal baru berapa negara sangatla yang aku dah sampai. Hahaha. Silalah gelakkan aku. Poyo tak hengat. Lempang sekali. Hahahha.
Dah 50 kan mamat ni. Still looks damn good kan.

Aku err selalu tak tengok cerita berat-berat, cerita kena fikir dalam2, mainan emosi tok nenek gitu. Kepala aku dah cukup banyak mender nak mikir, tak yah ler  menambah kan keserabutan. Hishh banyak pulak gambo Tom Cruise handsome-handsome nih, stress. Okla aku upload 2 jek la gambo mamat ni. Tak leh lebih-lebih. Hahahha.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On stranger tides

I watched this movie last weekend. The cinema was fully booked and I managed to get the tickets only on Sunday night. Jack Sparrow returns sans Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan. To me it's a little bit boring. Penelope Cruz role was err alright but not superb. And the villain for this installment is Blackbeard.

Watching from the first installment of POTC, I think it's hard for the production to top the villain Davy Jones and the plot where a betrayal on top of betrayal on top of another betrayal by Jack Sparrow, Capten Barbossa, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan.

The only interesting part which i liked was the mermaid elements where it created a different dimension and elements to the movie. Overall I'll give 3 stars for the movie because there were part where I felt bored silly. Hopefully it's the last one. Johnny Depp, go on and do other interesting and huge project such as this.

Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa The Movie - A Review

3 updates in 2 days? Bior betul? Yes, I know it's very rare of me updating my blog as frequent as this. But I can't help it. I need to share it, now!

I went to watch Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa at IOI Puchong. Even though the hype was not that big for the movie, we went anyways, since we know that KRU rarely let us down. I intended to watch it at Alamanda. Almost all shows are full, up till midnight. Sigh. So we watched it at IOI instead. We missed I guess around 10 minutes. Adoila frust betul. Salah sendiri lah. Lambat sangat bersiap.

I give an overall verdict lah ye. Kalau cerita lebih-lebih, tak thrill lah korang nak tengok. So I would not go plot by plot lah. I think it deserve 4 stars rating. Actually I could give the movie maybe 4.5 if it's not for the archimedes bit. Adoilah. Frust aku. Gaya nak conclude cepat jek at that scene.

Dari segi lakonan. Mostly best berlakon. Umee Nazeera ada cam terover sikit, in a few part. Less is more right. This is a movie, not a theater, right Part dia perhatikan Merong masa Merong nak berlepas di celah-celah orang tu, was beautiful. She looked the part. Sesuai rupa dia untuk part tu, cuma entahlah, she lacked some depth kot. Another actress, there's one part where Nell Ng, ada cakap cam Singlish lak aku dengar. Spoil.

Stephen Rahman Hughs was great, not exactly superb but great nonetheless. Dato' Rahim Razali best jugak. Very cryptic, the words which came from his mouth. If anyone can pulled that kinda script, its him. What caught my eye was Marcus who was played by Gavin Stenhouse. I think the role would have been really boring if it was not played superbly by him. It's enough of everything. I guess maybe because I don't really like superhuman/superheroes-I- am-not afraid-of-anything kinda role; so the Merong part does not appeal to me. Maybe that's why Marcus role really speaks to me. A prince but with fear and apprehension but not too much. Everything was in sufficient moderation. Just nice.

Khir Rahman was superb as well. My husband, Mr Dream always called him Tun Mamat, the role he played in Puteri Gunung Ledang. He was vicious, cruel and fought like a true villain. Dasyat. No wonder he is in good movies one after the other.

Craig Fong was a great admiral as well. He was Cleo's Most Eligible Bachelor winner, some time ago right? If only his role and Gavin were more. Should be more interesting. I remembered I was really glad to see when they both came back later in the movie.

The princess reminds me a bit of Lucy Liu. But not too much. I like her sweet raspy voice. The brief love story brought into the movie was really needed. Imagine if there's no love  story in this movie. Boring. If only there's a scene of Marcus and the princess getting married, owh bestnya! Oh ya, the soundtrack was great as well

Only 2 things that I don't like; sometimes the fight scene way too fast, and looked not humanely possible. Another part is, yes the archimedes part. Why oh why do you have to have that part? Why??
Hey I'm spoiling this for you! Okay, I won't tell you more. You have to watch it yourself. Money well spent. Not a dull moment, I promised you. You'll go out of the cinema feeling proud of this Malaysian movie. I kid you not. You will feel proud. Jangan lupa, pergi tengok cepat!

Note : All of this are my personal take on the movie, and I am not an expert, just a mere audience.

Harry Porter - The Deathly Hallows Part 1

Salam,

It has been a while since I last updated. As always work is drowning me. Too much to respond and take up since I got back from London. Anywayssss, i still make time to watch Harry Porter yesterday. Book through GSC website. Since they have the E-ticket thingy I have not bought any movie ticket, walk-in. I always buy it before hand. The good thing about E-ticket as compared to reserve only, you can choose the ticket. If you think that the seat is not to your liking, you can select other shows, or decide to watch it other time.

Yesterday me and Mr.Dream watched the 5.30 pm show in Alamanda. we arrived at 5.15 pm, just enough time to collect the ticket and buy popcorn. Gila lapar tak lunch, popcorn pon popcornlah. My take on the Deathly Hallows :

I think that because it has two parts the produces and the directors are taking advantage to make it extra slow. The move from few scene is especially when they camped is really slow. Boleh tertido rasanya. But then, the pace picked up and adalah benda-benda yang mengelirukan sikit. Frust tau.

I think that they have a lot of work to tie everything together, to bring closure to a lot of characters. For example, watak Professor Snape tu dalam 3 minute jek. Tak taulah kalau sebenarnya they have extended edition in DVD which makes more sense ala-ala macam Lord of Ther Rings tu kan. Bila tengok the extended edition, baru lah you'll go owhh now that makes sense.

The show ran about 2 hour and 15 minutes, but they started 15 minutes late, so it ended  around 8. Kelam-kabut jalan to beat the crowd to go for Maghrib Prayer. Bila nampak ada this 2 guys berlari, I said to Mr. Dream, I think we should be running as well. So we ran, celah-celah orang di Alamanda, sebab the stupid wayang, made us pusing ikut jalan jauh before entering back to Alamanda. Masa tengah lari tu dah bukak jam semua, sebab tau Isyak masuk at 8.12 pm. Luckily I brought my own telekung, sebab tau jelah betapa ramainya orang solat di Alamanda tu kan. Alhamdulillah, sempat. Just sempat kot. Hahahha. OK lain kali pilih timing yang sesuai sikit ye Ms Dream.

Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps

Went to watch Wall Street : Money Never Sleep last night.  I thought I missed the chance to watch since it's being showed quite a while already. But when I saw that it still showing in a few cinemas, I persuaded Mr. Dream to go and watch it with me. Mr. Dream needed some persuasion though, alright. But in the end he went with me anyways.

The verdict?... hmmmmmmm. Let me just put it like this, if it wasn't for Shia LaBeouf and Josh Brolin, I would probably fell asleep or walk out from the show. It started great, but as it continued, I was a bit disappointed. Saperla yang cakap Carrey Mulligan tu was phenomenal in the movie. Are you blind?

To me, she was not convincing. She is supposed to show her distrust towards Gekko. But what she did was always run from the scene. Hei takde modal lain ke? And Michael Douglas, he was superb as Gekko the money expert but pathetic as the Gekko the father. Whenever he has scene with Carrey Mulligan, both of them were pathetic.

Shia LaBeouf was great. Very earnest, realistic but not to the point of going overboard with the acting. If this boy can keep his head clear, he can really go far in the Hollywodd scene. (Didn't he got arrested because of DUI ?..sigh..)

And also in the end where Gekko said that he already deposited teh 100 mil to the Fusion Whatever account, both Winnie and Jake were really forgiving. Didn't Winnie said earlier, it's not about the money. If it wasn't about the money, it should be about the betrayal right? No, no, no in the end it's really about the money... Sigh again...

Anyways, I am no expert. that's my point of view. It could be better, though. But it gives me a glimpse of what may happen during the Merryl-Lynch, Lehman Brothers or Bear Steins meltdown and the US economic crisis.

Lagenda budak setan

Salam kawan-kawan,

Ada sesiapa yang dah menonton Lagenda Budak Setan. Aku belum tengok. Dan rasanya macam malas nak tengok. Bila nampak tajuk cerita tu, terus aku teringat novel Budak Setan karya Ahadiat Akashah tu. Was it his first novel? Entahla tak ingat. Tapi it was my the first novel by him that I read. Kalau tak silap ada gambar the author at the back of the book kan, sebelah kereta sport.

Membaca ni kena imagine sikit-sikitlah kan baru best. Dek kerana ada gambar Ahadiat Akashah tu dekat belakang novel tu, aku imagine the hero tu macam author tu lah. Yang heroin aku boleh jek amek saper-saper kan.

I think masa tu, Ahadiat Akashah glamour sangat sebab the writingnya sempoi, plus maybe he was good looking, so orang or rather the girls associate the heroes with him. Hahaha. Termasuk akukah? Cara tulisannya pon lain dari yang lain pada masa tu. So the teens and young adults can relate better to his writing berbanding penulis novel lain. Satu lagi novelis Melayu yang aku suka masa muda-muda dolu was Shamsiah Mohd Nor. Penulis novel Sindora, Tangisan Bulan Madu dan few more yang aku dah tak ingat tajuknya. That was almost twenty year ago. Man! I'm old.

Selalunya when a book is adapted into a movie, movie tu jarang dapat emulate apa yang novel cerita. That was what I felt when I watch Confession of a Shopoholic. Ada ke patut watak heroin tu American. Rubbish! Anyways kepada yang dah menonton wayang Lagenda Budak Setan maybe boleh kasik pandangan.
