My little dancer

Kate has been taking ballet and tap classes for about a month now. She absolutely loves it. The pictures aren't the best, I turned the flash off so I wouldn't disturb the class and they didn't turn out very well.
She listens and behaves like a little princess in class. (sometimes I wonder who she is ;) ) She tries so hard to do each move just perfect. She concentrates so hard that she sticks her tongue out during each move. It is the cutest thing.
She loves the color purple and I am having the hardest time finding a cute purple leotard. I did find these bright purple tights to go with her black leotard and she LOVES them.

Her teacher is so full of enthusiasm and the little girls adore her. I'm sure we are going to have a great year of dance.

Vikings game

We took the boys to their first Minnesota Vikings game yesterday. It was so much fun to see the excitement in their eyes as they took everything in. I expected Jake to sit calmly while Cody cheered and yelled. It was the other way around. Jake was a wild man. He was standing up screaming and cheering and singing the vikings fight song. He had so much fun. Cody was more reserved, he cheered a little bit but I don't think he realized that it was ok to be loud and wild. ( we are always telling him to settle down!)

BRETT FAVRE- THE SILVER FOX - He is the reason I am a viking fan. Not only is he a great quarterback, he is also a great person. Rickey bought all of the books about Brett after he "retired". He has done a lot of amazing things off the field.

The view from our seats.

Cody getting a little nervous with all of the flags against the vikes.
The cheerleaders. They wore their regular vikings outfits for the 1st half and for the 2nd half they changed into outfits representing the marines, army, navy, and airforce. It was pretty neat.
Pictures on the outside of the Metrodome.
Jake and Cody with Adrian Peterson, Cody's favorite.

( Don't you love their forced smiles??)
After the game

A giant flag during the half time show. They honored the Minnesota national guard.
This is the first picture Rickey and I have taken together in a long time. Cody took it . I wasn't grumpy, I had already stopped trying to smile by the time he took it. He had to have it just perfect.
After the game Rickey took us over to show us his new office . He also showed us the homeless people who were living behind the building. He said their was only 2 guys back there but that night he saw a skinny little girl. My "big tough" husband got a sleeping bag out of the bag of his car and took it back to the girl. He came back with tears in his eyes because he felt so bad for her. He said she was only about 12 years old. The boys were able to see both sides of the spectrum today. They went from seeing football players who have it all to seeing homeless people who have nothing. When they get home from school today they are going to pack up some hats, gloves and other warm things for these homeless people.

Farm and corn maze

I took the kids to a corn maze/farm today. Kate has been asking for weeks to go, but it has just been too cold. Today the high was 64 so I packed them all up and headed over there. I was a little worried at first about taking 4 kids alone to a place where they could easily get lost, but they were great!! Yay! My kids are finally growing up and listening to their mom. :) We went to the Schultz farm.

We spent hours there. The maze was in the shape of a service man. As we were walking through the maze Jake would say, now we are walking into the eagles eye, or now we are in the soldiers helmet. It was crazy , I was totally lost and I have no idea how he knew exactly what part of the maze we were in . After the maze we got ice cream cones and spent about $20.00 on corn for the goats :) All of the kids liked it, that doesn't happen very often anymore. Usually the oldest or the youngest is bored. We went last year also and decided we are going to make it a tradition.

Happy Halloween

The cat was so scared of Jake in his werewolf costume. ( I must admit it was pretty funny, I put his mask on a few times just to scare her. :) )

My mom usually makes the kids their costumes for Halloween. She was out of town this year so I had to make them. Thank goodness my grandma was around. She helped make Katie's butterfly wings.
Jake's costume was nasty. I couldn't believe he wanted to be a werewolf. I couldn't find anything to make a costume so I ended up buying a werewolf mask and cutting the face out of it. I also bought a gorilla costume and cut up the fur and sewed on some sideburns and also sewed some furry sleeves for the arms. I had gorilla fur all over me. It was in my nose and in my mouth. Jake loved it and that made it all worth it.

Bella was a butterfly for our ward trunk or treat but it was too cold on Saturday here so we dug out another costume for her. She is cute in anything. :) Cody is all about the Minnesota Vikings right now. He thinks Adrian Peterson is the best athlete ever. We are going to a Minnesota Vikings game in two weeks. He will be in heaven.

I am not a big Halloween person but we did go trick or treating for about an hour. The kids had full bags and full tummies :)
