Devastation just crumbled in when my mum told me that elections bells will be officially rung on 7th May. If you are not aware, I am leaving for Vietnam on 5th May and hence I will fail to witness democracy at its best right here in our local shores. My fellow countrymen, I beseech your forgiveness while I forsake my beloved nation when she experiences potentially history-making changes, especially since my hometown of Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC will be contested for the first time since its formation decades ago. Alright, all these dramatic words sprout out from the stinging irritation that I have to read through stacks of newspapers after I am back from Vietnam when all the furore is already over and forgotten.

Tuition is boring me more and more while i will be moving on to circuit driving next week, even though I stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes by mistake in front a zebra crossing ytd. Scared the wits out of myself. God, hope i wont do it again.

Anw i will be at ecp tmr practising my single hand cycling skills and hopefully i will make it to Changi. I must admit i am getting increasingly worried abt my Vietnam trip due to e apparent lack of planning, but there are still a couple of weeks so i look forward to catching up on the itinerary.

I lunched with my 2nd sis at Jubilee@Amk today and to those who are only familiar with amk hub, Jubilee is opposite the famous S11 western food stall where the lousier-than-KOI Gongcha is. Although the stall is comparatively secluded, highlighted by the fact tt we were the only customers throughout the entire duration of our presence there, it was a pretty positive experience: good food, good service at a reasonable price. for location, for the other aspects.

It is with a heavy heart that I mention this but the above is pretty much the most exciting thing that happened in my life today. My days always end with watching some clips on Youtube and start with a new batch of PAP members staring at me from the newspapers' headline articles, smiles broad with the confidence to lead and eyes glinting with the passion to serve. At least my GRC is predictably going to get contested at this election. MPs for my GRC recently revealed the 5 year masterplan and made me realise that 1/7 of Toa Payohers are senior citizens. I will advise any Bishaner who is guffawing now to suppress your laughter because guess what? Bishan is a close second at 1/10. Well, an aging population is a common problem shared across the globe.

What do you think abt me putting this as my MSN/Fb display pic?

Hey again, after close to 2 yrs of complete stagnation, my blog is now officially revived. Well, it may take some time for me to totally resume my blogging touch since humor is gradually eroded with age. And my arguably lifeless life is not helping. But i shall try and since I'm only following one blog right now, the sample size for comparison is not too large.

Nowadays my life is merely occupied by tuition and driving. The former just involves me getting younger at heart through practical actions, namely doing a math question that starts: Circle 2 items u will like to have for your birthday; my tutee was gentlemanly enough to share one of his two choices with me and I picked a teddy bear. And not forgetting me teaching a Sec 1 student e fundamentals of algebra from scratch which took me abt 15min and I was just about to personally experience the self-satisfaction teachers get when they enlighten when my seemingly enthusiastic tutee said:'Cool, i think i will solve this by drawing models.'

Driving is another experience of its own since it means circling a 1km vicinity for 1.5 hr, learning reversing by doing it 5 times until u start counting the number of trees planted along the roadside. If you share my fate and have a instructor who favors FM95.8, you have to seek joy in listening to news broadcast in dialects like Fookchew. That is worse than watching the Taiwanese melodrama 'Ai' at 7pm during weekdays and the equally melodramatic 'Ye Shi Ren Sheng' during weekends; same time, same channel, same cast. Btw, FM 95.8 makes me appreciate oldies better since i cant describe my gratitude when '甜蜜蜜' was played, the only song i heard in that 1.5hrs.

So i shall start my first blogpost in 2 years in this depreciating tone and hopefully the joy and humor will build up with time.

Renovation in process....and DONE.

Since I am slacking my sunday away, I must as well blog a little here. I spent close to 1 hr on the papers today which is about twice the amount of time i spent usually. The main reason was that the Straits Times really provided quite a concise report on the AWARE saga. For the last few weeks, Josie Lau was more popular than Barack Obama and AWARE was better known than WHO. The enitre saga has finally come to a close, with the new guards giving a 'gracious exit' and the old guards resuming office. I suppose this is a rather positive ending, if not the best. Detractors may complain that the conflict was blown-up and the organisation should have settled for a less-exaggerated, behind-the-door resolution. True, but the extensive media coverage made some impact too. It highlighted the fact that Singaporeans, especially the females, are not oblivious to events happening in civil society, and are prepared to fight for their beliefs with conviction and passion if the need arises. I must admit it was rather heartwarming to read about the AWARE meeting from the papers. Though the voting process was not very gracious with the frequent boo-ing and outbursts, but it has certainly shown that Singaporeans do feel strongly about social events and want their voices heard. And hopefully, with the new-found support from Singaporeans nation-wide (AWARE membership has risen from 300 to 3000 in the past 3 weeks), AWARE can resume momentum and continue being the strongest advocate for female rights here.

Had JTS on sat at a super ultra big house off kheam hock road (imagine 4 levels and a swimming pool). Finally saw how rich singaporeans can be around us. It was basically a card session and some had fun partying ard with special lighting too. Thankfully the food was acceptable and sufficient, think i better keep the caterer namecard for future use. Before the jts was our fac cip which was just plain slack. Took a few class photos finally to put on our ct blog.
And i am so looking forward to class birthday with 401 on wed. No details yet but 401 will come up with something becos we are jus so pro. :)

Looks deceive.

I am getting slacker at writing blogs, eh actually getting slacker at life basically. I still havent finished march hol hmwk, not like rachel koh who did everything b4 term starts. Honestly, it is rather diff to believe tt she was from 406? And there is phy, math, econs tutorial tmr which i am on the verge of dao-ing. LOL, i believe that copying is also a process of learning. And chem lab sucked today cos i kept overshooting for titration. And apparently, the answer for the last qn in the class test was C4H6 while my answer was C4H14. Totally well done..Maybe i shld arrange for a consultation with Ms meta soon. Perhaps i will learn better under a pretty, kind, patient teacher like her, as compared to the Mrs Ho lecturer who refused to use the microphone during lectures while i shoot her my iconic stone look. And one good news today was tt we finally changed the econs lecturer. Not tt i am not recognising the efforts of the female lecturer, wadever her name is, but i must face the fact tt i still dun understand anything about price elasticity. And once the male teacher took over from her today, I felt my entire world light up...
I was dozing off during GP today and was forced to answer qns from Ms Ho. imagine how i felt when i was happily rubbing my eyes and had to answer QTK halfway..and gave the wrong answer.

An entry before sleeping. I have been having early nights these few days because the exhaustion level is reaching max point. I feel doom coming towards me. LOL. At least i am not a bio student or i will have 2 tests next week instead of one. I conclude that i can either accept ms khoo's civilized ' Life is tough.' , my cruder ' Life sucks.' or the more high-class Spanish phrase' Que sera sera.' Life goes on.
