Make Up Bag

Another little extra present for daughter Aleysha tomorrow.
This make up bag was made using Craft artist and Crafters Companions Frou frou CD.
a similar one was made by a CC design team member , But I just had to have ago and put my own spin on things.
The image was printed onto transfer paper and ironed onto white cotton, then I added the red fabric that I have used in the lining and some pretty lace.
While I was making the topper in Craft artist I also did another one ready for my daughter in law Emma.
I was going to make one up for her as a little gift, but did not have a large enough zipper.
so I have put it away until after my holidays when I can get it done for her.
So watch this space
Bit of a blurry photo this one, I was trying to show the pretty lining of the bag, but you can still see it.
Enjoyed making this so much after I get Emma`s one done I will be making one for myself.

Owls

My Daughters Birthday is on Tuesday and my granddaughters birthday is two week later.
So I made these two cute owls for them as an extra present.
There is a sentimental value to these gifts, Perrie is about to have her 1st Birthday and has grown ot of her first baby blankets, These were made out of the pink fleece that mummy brought her home from hospital wrapped in, the printed fabric are scraps left over from my First rag quilt that I made for little Perrie`s Cot, So lots of memories in these .
The top photo is the one for Mummy its a bit bigger and I have added a Gusset to this one so its thicker all around.
The one below is smaller and much thinner, I sewed front and back together with out adding the thinker Gusset  , Just right for tiny hands to hold
I found a free pattern online , If you look in my pinterest  pages you will find lots of links to this and other cute free patterns.
Thanks for visiting please come again

My Abigail Bag

Just finished this wonderful bag its called Abigail and its from a pattern from Chris W you can find her store HERE , She has some stunning bag patterns for download.
This did have a few pattern pieces that needed cutting out but Chris gives you Detailed written instructions and Photos of each step that you need to but this bag together .
I really enjoyed the whole thing and learnt a few new techniques
I used home deco fabric for the out side and it work really well, its adds nice solid feel to the bag, cream cotton for the lining
Just a few of the pockets that this bag has, 4 snap pockets on the outside

Here you can see the two large snap pockets each side of the main Zipped compartment  you could fit a book into these

Here are two photos of the inside
There is a nice safe inner zipped pocket on the one side and two mobile phone pockets and a pen pocket on the other

Really enjoyed making this bag and would love to try out some more of Chris W designs in the future

I am thinking that for the winter this bag would look stunning in Cord fabric

Baby Girl Bookatrix

Ok I know a lot of sewing has been on my blog lately, but I still have my love of papercrafting.
this was a very nice project to get my paper crafting stuff out and play.
My nephew Adam`s wife Charlene gave birth to their first child on Wednesday morning.
So I just had to make them a special card and chose the bookatrix board.
The above photo is how it looks in its box
This shows the card out of its box, just love the pretty lace on the edges
A close up of the shoes, it was cut on my Silhouette cameo using a Tina Finch cutting file, that I modified slightly
A shot of the flowers on top of the box, these came from wild orchid
This is Isabella Ivy Hewings, having a cuddle from my daughter Aleysha .

The photo below is her proud daddy Adam, He was very brave and delivered this little bundle on the bathroom floor, her mummy was only in labour for two hours, not in much pain then her waters went and she was on her way, daddy had to deliver her himself before the Ambulance arrived

Baby and mummy are both doing well

My first Phoebe bag

I am so into bag making at the moment, this is my first Phoebe bag its a free pattern available
Its So easy to make, and I'm sure it wont be the last Phoebe Bag that I make.
Loved this Clarke & Clarke dog print fabric, just right for a summer bag, fun and cute

Here is daughter Aleysha modelling the bag so you can see the size, its just right for a day bag, but you can fit lots in it

Here is the inside, I used the red spot fabric again, just love it, I'm almost out of it, so need to get to the fabric shop to buy some more, wonder what else will jump into my basket.
The pocket is a large one but I split and  added two channels to hold pens on the end.
Just need the nice weather to arrive so I can use it.
Thanks for stopping by

Quilted Tote Bag

Another sewing project, told you I caught the sewing bug.
This is for carrying granddaughters nappies and stuff when we go out, She is nearly one so we don't need to take so much out with us these days,  so I made a bright quilted bag to carry what I do take
Popped a pocket inside for smaller things, also added a zip, dont like the open Totes
Close up of the quilting.
Loved making this have a smaller one planed for my summer bag.

Quilted Make up bag

Wow two posts in one day, I'm getting back into my crafting now.
As I said in the post below, I have really gotten back into my sewing again.
Made this quilted Make up bag today, A lot of first for me in this project, My first at quilting fabric, went for some simple lines, also my first at doing a Zip, very pleased with how it turned out.
Love this red spotty fabric, Still have lots left so watch this space
here is a close up of the quilting, not a brave design, just straight lines, but its very pretty when sewn up
Thinking of making a bag next, also the girls in the family also want make up bags after seeing this one, I have a few ideas for different styles of make up bags.

Three Sewing Projects

Been missing from blogging this last month , we all had the flu, I thought it was never going to go away, Coughing, hot and swollen throat for over three weeks, Daughter, hubby and youngest son were all ill at the same time, It was just horrid, but we are all better now.

This week I got out the sewing machine and made a few projects.
Just really enjoying sewing at the moment .
Treated myself to this little Beauty just before I fell ill, so enjoying playing with it again, My other was 40 years old , and needed retiring , I have given it to daughter,I don't know if she will ever use it, but its good enough for a starter machine

The first is another Sock monkey this is the second one I have made, see my posts below for the other one.
this I made for Grandson Cameron, they are so easy to make, you use a pair of socks, you can find lots of Tutorials on Google and YouTube , they make up really quickly, and are so cute

My second item is a little Square bag made up from scraps left over from the quilt I made my little granddaughter , I have given it to her mummy to put in her bedroom to drop little baby things into.
Really enjoyed making this little bag, this was my sample one, that why I used left over fabric.
I'm going to make another one, but I might quilt this one to give the sides extra strength , so the bag is not so floppy

The third project is a sock cat, Older grandson Keaton wanted a cat instead of a monkey  now he wants me to make him a Monkey also after seeing Cameron's, This one I finish a month ago just before I fell ill, this is my first chance to blog it, again lots of tutorials on Google showing you how to make this and other animals , I found it easier and quicker than the Monkeys to make up.
Thanks for looking
