the arrival -
HIP, HIP, HOORAY!!!!
the chubbers got his first tooth!!!!
we found this little beauty hanging out in his mouth over the weekend. this is the only picture, out of like 20 that i took, that shows it. (if you click on the picture - it'll enlarge it so you can see it) it's just a little guy - but we're happy he's here. the chubbers wasn't fussy or anything - knock on wood that they'll all be that easy when they come in.
"get your hands off my blocks and no one will get hurt." - the chubbers
when we visited grandma and grandpa last night, grandpa gave this stacking toy to the chubbers. he LOVES them. THANKS GRANDPA!!!!
as for our weekly recipe - sorry i've forgotten to post one for a few weeks.
here's a REALLY simple, yet utterly delicious recipe.
Carrots a la the Hubbers
peel and thinly slice carrots (however many you want)
put them in a frying pan with about a cup of water.
steam carrots
take them out and drain
put butter / margarine on them
sprinkle with dill and lemon pepper
SOOOOOO GOOD - a definite crowd pleaser

30 years.
Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of my father's passing.
we met at the cemetery and put flowers on his grave and remembered him.
30 years is a long time.
i can't imagine how long it's been for my mom.
my siblings, my mom and i.
it was a VERY windy day.
funny - never realized how tall my brothers are.
afterwards, we went to celebrate zane's birthday.
he wanted a pic taken with the chubbers.
we just got these hand-me-down overalls from my sister.
i think the chubbers looks adorable in them.

the sickies continue....
the sickies are still at our house.
now all of us are infected.
blah.
isn't it just the worst when you can't breathe out of your nose and you can't taste your food. oh well.
on a brighter note......here are some pics that lu-lu took while they were here.
this is right before the chubber's first train ride.
on the train ride.....
after the train ride. the chubbers is offering a prayer of gratitude that they made it back safe and sound
the cousins. they both look a little camera-shocked
going for a ride - isn't this the life???

nights are for sleeping, right?
the chubbers apparently hasn't gotten the memo the past few nights about what we do during the night. could someone please remind him that we SLEEP when it's dark outside???
for those of you not living in the "big city" let me fill you in on our scenery. we woke up to like 6 inches of the white, fluffy stuff this morning. it was awesome! it started falling around 5:00 last night and was still coming down when the chubbers and i were having our special "awake during the middle of the night" time last night. what a beautiful scene this morning. and the best part was - the snow plows did an AWESOME job clearing the streets and the commute to work wasn't all that bad.
Here's my weekly recipe for you - it's FANTASTIC! I'm having leftovers for lunch today - and can't wait for lunch time to come. this was so super easy to make - took me like 10 minutes. and it was delicious. even the hubbers was impressed.
p.s. - i used whatever noodles i had in the cupboard - and they worked just fine.
p.p.s. - i accidentally got shredded mozarella cheese instead of a block of it - but it worked just fine, too.
Italian Pasta Salad – from Sister’s Cafe (http://sisterscafe.blogspot.com/)
1/2 -1 package of bowtie pasta
broccoli florets--bite size pieces
sliced pepperoni (cut in half)
sliced olives
mozzarella cheese-cubed (or just slice up cheese sticks like I did)
cherry tomatoes
favorite Italian dressing (I like the good seasonings dry packets, made with red wine vinegar and add a TB or so of fresh Parmesan)
Boil the pasta in water according to the package directions. For the last minute of cooking add the broccoli florets. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop cooking. Add to a bowl with the pepperoni, olives, cheese and tomatoes. Toss with your favorite Italian dressing. Remember that the pasta will soak in some of the dressing so put in a little more than you think. Or add some right before serving, so it is not too dry. Chill and enjoy!
sooooooooo good!

the farm
last night after work we went on a walk at the local farm. it was nice to get some fresh air in our lungs and dirty our shoes up in the mud.
after our walk we showed the chubbers the animals that live there. i think he was like - what in the world are those HUGE things? and what is that smell? and why are they eating stuff off the ground?
i've got to tell you - seeing new things with a child for their first time is AWESOME! although i think i was more excited than the hubbers or the chubbers to look at all the animals. the cold weather might have had something to do with their lack of excitement for the cows.
go red sox!
