End Of Snow Days
The snow days have officially ended today. Friday. All that's left now is a big mess. No surprise. I was a bad mother. I let my daughter stay home from school again. Oh well it's Friday. There is nowhere to park. Everything that was plowed is in the parking spaces. It was still a nice time. All that beautiful snow reduced to dirty ice. And soon, dirty water. It's funny how some things can start out so magical, beautiful and mysterious can just melt away into dirt and disappointment. But what am I really talking about here. The snow storm , violent yet mysterious and beautiful. Or life, magical, wondrous and yet often times reduced to dirty water? I will always look forward to more snow days even when my last child is grown and gone. Isn't it funny though that I will probably forget about the dirty water?

Snow Day - Part III
Yes we are having yet another snow day. Its unusual for our area to get as much snow as we have. I'm not as excited about it today as I was yesterday. My son had to come yesterday to shovel my driveway for me. My husband was stranded in a truck stop in Indiana. It took my son almost three hours to do it. I felt so bad he was all red faced and sweaty. But the good part was that he brought my granddaughter Sarah with him and we had a good time. She once again referred to me as her crazy grandma and I love that!! Poor little thing played so hard in the snow as you can view on the previous blog ( Snow Day - Part II) She was soaking wet but didn't care. When she came inside I put her clothes in the dryer and her aunt Kate made her hot chocolate. We also ate Mac and cheese. How much more special can you get??
Today I hope to accomplish some more tasks around here that I wasn't able to do yesterday. All of these free days are great for getting things done as well as getting nothing done. Right now I am feeling lazy but soon I will be tired of sitting and want to get up and move. I really have been missing working out. I was just starting to get back into it when the snow started. My club closes on snow days. But on a good note I've been doing a lot of physical work these past few days. Just doesn't feel the same to my muscles. Well people I am going to see what I can get into!!

Snow Day - Part II
OMG. I am feeling a little girlish this morning. Last night we got about 10 inches of snow here which is unusual for our area. My first thought when I went to walk the dog was to go outside and play. I still may consider that later. Here is an example of how much snow we got. Every morning when I wake up I take the dogs out before I have my coffee. Both of my dogs are small. I put little Roxys leash on , opened the back door, set her in the snow and let her pee! At first she didn't get it but when she saw I wasn't coming out to walk around the yard she just went. I'm very grateful that we have food and toilet paper in the house ! And more importantly HEAT!

Snow Day
Today was a snow day for us. I love snow days. It's like getting an extra Sunday in the week! I can choose to just be lazy all day or work on projects. Today I worked on projects. I cleaned my whole basement. We had a new furnace put in and there were boxes and totes everywhere. It took me about three hours but I felt so good afterword. So dirty but so good!
After the basement was done I moved upstairs and worked on another room that was in desperate need of attention.Happenstance. Yes my beloved husband and I named the room years ago. Everything gets piled and thrown in there so we named it Happenstance. With our old furnace the room was never warm. Now it's hot,so we want to leave the door open. Thus the major clean and overhaul. I put a pretty good dent in it but finally got tired out.
Tomorrow is another snow day. I may decide to be lazy or I may not. We will see!!! I hope everybody that is having a snow day is enjoying it as much as I am. In case your wondering my 14 year old daughter Kate is bored out of her mind!!! And yes I did put her to work as well.

Thursdays
I love Thursdays. I know that probably sounds silly to some but I have my reasons. Thursday is the day before Friday. Thursday is my last day before the weekend to accomplish things that needed to be done through the week. Thursday is the day I get paid. Thursday night all of my favorite shows are on the television.
My weekends are always hectic. Most of the time I don't look forward to them. I like the quiet weekdays even though I am still busy. Thursday is my last chance before the weekend to take a nap. Most people get to relax on the weekend. I don't.
I love Thursdays. But now that I think about I love Mondays too.

"When I Was One And Twenty"
When I was one and twenty I heard a wise man say
"Give crowns and pounds and guineas but not your heart away."
"Give pearls away and rubies But keep your fancy free."
But I was one and twenty, no use to talk to me.
When I was one and twenty I heard him say again
"The heart out of the bosom was never given in vain."
"Tis paid with sighs a plenty and sold for endless rue."
Now I am two and twenty and oh tis true tis true.
My favorite poem by A.E. housman

Sorry About That Last Blog
I realize how depressing my last blog was. So I am apologizing. I am hoping to have a better year, if not financially then spiritually. Although I know this is all impossible to predict I am ever hopeful. I have several projects in the works. Enough to keep me busy through the winter and spring. My first one is reorganizing all of my photos. I had no idea I had so many. This is a pretty big project. They are all so mixed up. I only wish I would have at least wrote the years down on them. It's going to be a fun guessing game! I am also planning on doing other things with them, which I am not at liberty to say right now!
My next project is major. I am going to redo my whole living room. Paint the walls, paint the floors, rip out the radiators and I am going to take everything off the walls and put all new things up. Doesn't that sound like fun?
The next project kind of goes along with the last one. I am going to redo the spare bedroom. Right now it is an office/junk room. We like to call it "Happenstance"! You know I'm getting tired just thinking about it. If my finances allow me to do this, even in dribs and drabs I will be happy.

" A HAPPY NEW YEAR"
Well it's another new year and I can't imagine it being worse than the last one for me. I do realize that it can get way worse than last year. But I'd like to believe that it will be better. When I was younger it was always a somewhat exiting time. New year, fresh starts and all. But as the years roll by I just feel more and more discouraged. I always had dreams of all the things that I wanted to accomplish in the new year. Than the older I get , the less and less I am able to do. Weather it be from my body not letting me do the things I want to do (which most of the time is the case), or my finances not letting me do what I want to do, it can be so discouraging. Keeping a positive attitude can seem like an insurmountable task. Most days just doing simple tasks seem impossible. I know this all sounds so depressing. Not to fear, I do still have some dreams. It just seems as though I am running in place and getting nowhere. I keep praying. Maybe it will be "A HAPPY NEW YEAR" after all.
