Swinging Sixties Here I Come Baby Yeah!!!
Godfathers and the angel

The day started fine and ended pretty fine too. We went for Richard Dragon’s 40th Retro Birthday Party. We were all planning for days for this day to come. We all came up with weird outfits, which made us look hippy or retro. I came up with a long sleeve khaki collared shirt with black tapered pants, and to top it up, I wore a trench coat outside it. For accessories, I used a dollar sign bling bling necklace and belt, which totaled up to be $55. I bought it after legion on that very day at peninsular. It was supposedly 90 bucks but with my big sad puppy dog eyes, I bargained with an old Indian man to 55. For my hair, I wore a wig and fake mustache and purple sunglasses. The costume may sound weird but it really made me look different and retro-like. At around 1930, we left home with our costumes on. On the way there, we had to make a detour to pasir ris to pick my baptismal Godfather. Upon reaching our destination, we saw many people there. However, many of them were not wearing retro outfits!! We felt like a misfit!!! We took out some accessories…. Then when we went down to the chalet, we saw that there were some people in the house with the costumes. Out of which were mostly Eurasians. The Chinese were like the bums of the party like they usually are(I’m a Chinese but I don’t care) didn’t wear any form of outfit, which followed the theme of Retro. Later into the night, more and more people came for the party. These were mostly Eurasians who were dressed up in all forms. There were those women who dressed up in the so-called butterfly outfit of their time and guys who dressed up like the peacetime people( long hair with band and hippy clothes). Then at last, Richard Dragon came down with the old bell-bottom high pants with platform shoes, which gave him a groovy touch to his outfit. As the party commenced, we ate all types of food such as bee hoon, chicken wings, sand witches and lots more and had drinks such as alcohol, coke and a weird drink named green spot which was sold openly in the past. Entertainment included disco, movies such as Saturday Night Fever, and Contests such as the best dressed. It was very enjoyable as we sat around the cronies like Freddy fox(Cheryl Fox’s father) and wife, A. Gloria and U. Lawrence and many more. When we were three quarters into the party, U. Lawrence tried to intro me to a suspicious girl to whom I might know the name. He started by saying she didn’t like SJI guys den he went into saying that she was from IJTP. That rang a bell in my head, which reminded me of what Mark Lloyd Gomez had told me before as my other friend Kenneth Lim(TOAD) liked her. Then, I told my mother that I might know who she is. Then, she asked me who and I replied Andrea Joy Dragon. She then went into reconfirming that with her. I was right!!! I knew this girl but she didn’t have any idea of who I was. Later, went she left, everyone on the table who was present during the intro of each other started to interrogate me. Questions spilled towards me. My uncle even tried to get me to dance with her. It was terrible but yet fun when I saw the reactions of their faces when I was right. From then on, I have been hearing non-stop teases from mostly everyone about her. But since I am partially deaf(fiction) they think(keyword) I cannot hear them. What to do??? I am a growing up boy!!!

Being Lame
I Feel SO Short All of A Sudden

It has been around a week since I last blogged in. Hmmm…. The accounts of this week is debit looks credit marks. Haha!!! Time has passed and its like only 2 weeks more to the mid year examination. Gonna Die!!! I am still weak in many aspects of my educational life but I believe that with God at my side, nothing is impossible. I don’t understand why teenagers are not as close to God then adults. But the ironic part is, the influence I get from my parents about prayer has moulded me into being not the average teen. I go to pray with my father sometimes after school at the church grotto, sometimes we have as a family, bible reading to improve my English and improve my knowledge of the Bible(Killing two birds with one stone), and I have my own personal reflections and Praise and Worship sessions. Unlike my friend in school, I respect other religions(incl. Protestants) no matter whether they have persecuted my religion as they are all God’s creation and part of God’s master plan. Haha…. I sound like a priest or something but ya… we should not generalize for 1 person’s bad doings. We should totally respect the religions as we are only good Catholics if we follow the teaching of the Lord. With my mentality, I can be the next Pope. Pope Alexander the 1st. Haha…Wake up Wesley….
So today was jus like other boring days…. Wake up, school….. go home, do homework….. no time to study nor enjoy…..Next thing… DIE!!! If this carries on, I could die any time. Continuous studying and work, work, work!!! I had it… too stressed… plus my maid is so annoying… can die…. She sings to the top of her voice despite me being the only one able to do that in my house…hahaha…….. All I have to say to you’ll out there reading this…. God is everywhere! Whenever in Doubt, Turn to Him, He can help you if you just pray(Praising Religiously As Yahweh)!!!!

Confirmation Bash
Thorn Among The Roses

To tell you the truth, this was one of my worse parties. It was so boring. There wasn’t any atmosphere. It started after the Rite of Sending Forth Mass ended. I left to go home to bathe and change to something more comfortable. It was raining cats and dogs and I was on the verge of getting sick. I was drenched before I managed to exit church. Many people in umbrellas crowded the exits of the church leading to the main road. I managed to squeeze through as fast through the crowd, which moved swiftly like the current of the river. By the time I reached the bus stop, I had to wait a long time for the bus to arrive. It took minutes, which seemed like decades for the bus to reach the stop. When the bus arrived, I went up and waited till I reached the bus stop nearest to my house. At home, I rushed to have a bathe n wash my soaked dry-hair. Within 10 minutes, I changed and was ready to leave the house. I asked my grandfather whether he could send me and to my surprise he agreed.
At the party, it started off with me entering the room when all the music and every one went to a standstill. It was as if I were Cinderella or smthng… Wake up Wesley…No that is not how it started. It started with me having dinner all alone with Amy, Alex and Damian sitting around me. Then we went up to listen to nothing else but music from a portable CD player. It was like ddddddddaaaaaammmmmmmnnnnnnnn boring with a capital ‘B’. Then I went downstairs as Sarah wanted me to wait for her to come. So I waited with Ashley. Then when she came, we all went up and then we watched the 1st band performance which I won’t mind giving a B. We had games after that which I would give a ‘F’. Then there was more bands playing and then I went downstairs to get a drink and slacked there with some others. It was like 10 when I went back up and listened to a few more bands playing then it all ended. Boring. I went to anton’s house afterward to meet my parents. Then went to pick up Sarah who was also on her way to anton’s house. Then we went to Beer Gardens to have supper and then ciao we went back home. What an interesting day it was wasn’t it?

My 1st Confirmation
Rg and Me

The day had come, I who have always taken Confirmation class for granted is on the verge of getting confirmed as a Catholic. I was damn nervous as we were told what to respond to his Grace the Archbishop Nicholas Chia only on the day itself. Throughout the whole week I was on a diet to try to be slim enough so that I would look nice for my Confirmation. In the end, I didn’t lose any weight.
In a matter of minutes I left for church with my God Father, Peter Derick Bartholomew Scully. We were hanging out at the foyer of the church together with some other hundred people consisting of Confirmants and their God Parents. The crowd of people there was unbelievable. We had all entered the small compact canteen of the church. Kenneth, the head of Catechism Teachers, started briefing us 40 minutes after I arrived about what we were suppose to do and say. Seemed easy for many, but not me. I was nervous to the brim. We entered the church as the choir started singing the opening song. We had reserved seats. During the mass, I could not concentrate incase I answered the Archbishop wrongly. Thank goodness when it was my turn, I managed to answer the Archbishop correctly as he placed the oil on my head. After mass, there was a reception and I took many photos with friends. After that I went home and had a dinner party with all my god parents…haha…. only 3. It was another memory which I will cherish foreva more.

Damian's 16th Birthday Party At Pizza Hut
Everything has its PRICE

This was one of the worst Catechism Class ever. We were supposed to finish at 6pm but due to some delays, we ended at 6.20 with Joshua Branson leading in the concluding prayer. Joshua Siow and I left the church straight after it ended. We were on our way to the extravagant Pizza Hut for Damian Teo’s 16th Birthday Party. We were rushing as those there started eating already. On our way there, we stopped at 7-eleven to buy a little present for Damian. We searched the entire shop for anything, which Damian will like. Joshua saw a toy gun with a lollipop in it and decided to purchase it along with something else. We both shared the present. It was along the road leading to Siglap Centre, when we heard 2 girls called our names. Their voices were very familiar to us. Then, we turned to the bustling coffee shop next to Siglap Centre to find our two seniors, Averyl and Renee, sitting down and calling to us. They questioned us on where we were going. We told them that we were going to meet the rest(Leanne, Tasia, Amy, Samuel, Iggy and Damian) at Pizza Hut for Damian’s Birthday Party. Then, they asked whether there was any birthday cake. I called Leanne to ask them the same question but she replied that there was none. The kind hearts of Averyl and Renee left them with nothing but to leave to buy a cake at the nearest cake shop for Damian. Joshua and I sat at the coffee shop to wait for them as there were many bundles of plastic bags, which belong to them. Within minutes, they returned. We all left to Pizza Hut to meet the rest. Halfway through the journey, we met Tasia and Leanne. When we reached there, Damian’s face changed as if we were going to embarrass and sabotage him, which we did eventually. By the time Joshua and I sat to eat, there was only 3 slices of Pizza left. Anton came. The each of us took 1 piece. We all sang Happy Birthday to Damian ate the cake. Then we said bye to Averyl and Renee as they were about to go home. After that we took group pictures of ourselves in funny and weird poses. We ended the day by going to Jalan Bangsawan Park to play around while Amy and Damian had there own quiet time TOGETHER(haha) in the Opera Estate Primary School field. After that, we paid Samuel back for the dinner, which he paid for us first. It was like 10 bucks for 1 slice of pizza for Joshua and Me. Unbelievable. It was a mistake to eat there!
