An Upate

I promise we are all still alive and well.  We have just been super busy! So just some updates on our life as of late:

  • Hannah started first grade! She loves being in school all day and eating lunch at school.  She is doing really well with her reading, and loves math.  :)  She also just started a tap/ballet/jazz combo class this year, and she LOVES it!

  • Charlie is back in preschool. He really enjoys going to school, and riding the bus! We also just potty trained Charlie.  We waited a long time to do it, but finally a few weeks ago we buckled down and did it over a weekend.  He is doing awesome!

  • Avery turned 2! I can't believe that! She is a little sassy spit fire! She's officially in the terrible two stage and has a big attitude, and knows how to throw pretty epic tantrums.  She keeps me on my toes. :)

  • Brandon is loving his job with the department, and he is going to begin studying for his Engineering exam that will be coming up in less than a year.  Once he passes that he will be a certified Professional Engineer. :) I am so proud of all that he's accomplished thus far, and I know he will do great on his exam when the time comes.  He also has picked up a few new hobbies, wood working and also shooting.  He has taken the kids a few times with him to the shooting range and they just love it!

  • I have been so busy!  I am working more and more for Fort Worth Fabric Studio.  I run their blog and make samples and write tutorials.  It's an amazing job, and I tell Brandon all the time how blessed I am to have a stay at home job and do something that I love doing. :)   I will be flying out to Texas in October to go to Quilt Market with my boss and I can't wait!

  • On a different note, a few months ago I was called to be a Young Women's advisor in our ward.  I have really enjoyed it so far.  Last Sunday, Brandon and I were called in for a meeting with the 1st counselor of the bishopric.  I had no idea what this could be about because, both of us just received new callings two months prior.  Brandon went in first, and came out not even five minutes later.  I thought it was odd.  So when I went in, I really had no idea what to expect.  Well, I have been called to be the Young Women's First Counselor.  To say I was shocked, was a bit of an understatement.  I felt like this is such a big responsibility, and honestly I felt I was just getting the hang of being an advisor! However, I am really excited and overwhelmed with gratitude with this opportunity.  I know it will make my life a little bit more hectic than it already is, but I know our family will be blessed greatly.
Our family theme this year!

  • Last, but not least we have a new member in our family! Her name is Pearl, and she is the cutest little thing in the world.  I am super allergic to cats, but with all my medicine, I can tolerate being around her.  She stays mostly outside, but we let her in the house all the time.  We are pretty darn smitten with this little kitten!

An Update

Wow, it's been months since I updated this blog!

Life has been super hectic lately. There has been a lot going on and new things to come, so I thought I would do a little update. :)

Our whole family pretty much got the flu---except of Avie.  It was awful.  I literally woke up one morning and felt like death.  I have never had the flu before, and  I never want it again.  I ended up also getting strep throat on top of that--which was even more awful! I am glad it's over! We are all finally all healthy--for the time being! ;)

Brandon was offered a permanent position here in the Richfield office.  It's funny how plans change.  Just a few short months ago, we thought we were going to be moving to St. George around this time.  Now, we know for sure this is where we are staying--at least for a while.

So now that we know that we are going to be here for a while, we are finally going to buy a house! We have just started the process--we have been pre-approved we just need to find the right house for our family! We are super excited about this.  We have been married going on 8 years now, and have never owned a house!  Over half of our marriage Brandon was in College--so we didn't know where we wanted to settle down.  So we've always just decided to rent.  Now that we know we are going to be in Central Utah for a while--we decided we want to lay our roots down here and buy a house.

I honestly can't wait to have something to call our own and to be able to decorate it and paint it the way I want! lol! I am so sick of living in houses that have white paint on the walls! I love decorating, and can't wait to get my hands on a blank canvas! :)

On a completely different note, I have finally decided to start my own business. It has been a dream of mine to own a business ever since I can remember.  From a very young age I have always had ideas running through my mind on new ideas and businesses I would want to create.  I am a dreamer. I dream big, and often.  I often can't sleep at night because I constantly have ideas and projects running through my mind.

I have finally found something I am really passionate about and bit the bullet and registered my business. I am excited about this new adventure and can't wait to see where it leads! :)

A little update on the kids:

Hannah--is getting smarter each day! She loves reading, and is very good at math! She loves school, and literally had a melt down when she couldn't go when she had the flu.

Charlie--he is loving preschool.  He is talking more and more and is very active.  He loves riding the bus to school, and he is obsessed with all things Toy Story right now.

Avie--she is our little spit-fire! She is sassy and has a major attitude.  She is learning to talk and jabbers all day long.  She loves playing with her brother and sister.  She also loves all things Toy Story too--she can literally sit through the entire Toy Story movie and not move.  She is absolutely fascinated by it. She loves food! This girl will pretty much eat anything you put in front of her--this is the complete opposite of Charlie! She does what I call the "stink eye" and gives people dirty looks for no reason. It always cracks me up!

Well, that about sums it up! Hopefully I don't wait so long to post again! :) You can always find me at my other blog, I post there all the time! :)

Some Changes Around Here!

Wow! Charlie turned three today! I can't believe it has been three years ago that I met my "mister" for the first time!

Charlie has some big news! He started preschool today!

I am really mad because I went to take pictures of him getting on the school bus for the first time and my camera died! So I will have to do that tomorrow.

For about the last two months we have been in the process of transitioning him out of his speech therapy and occupational therapy and going through lots of testing and paperwork to enroll him in the State Special Education Preschool.

Charlie has come a long ways from where he was about 9 months ago.  However, he is still very delayed in a few aspects of his life that affect the way he learns.  So this preschool will help him get the care that he needs so when the time comes he will be ready to go to Kindergarten!

I am also glad that he will be able to go to preschool because Charlie has finally stopped taking naps during the day.  This has become a huge issue around here.  If you have spent any time with Charlie at all, you would know that this kid never ever stops.  He also has really bad days where it is just one tantrum after another and him being tired just adds onto the chaos.

So the last month or two has been super trying for me.  People don't realize how tough it is to raise a child as "needy" as Charlie.   He consumes pretty much every minute of my day.  So preschool is a much needed blessing.  He will benefit so much from going to preschool, and I will also benefit because it will give me that couple of hours to help me re-group and be a good mom to Charlie.

So in all, we are super excited for this new change and we look forward to seeing all the progress he will make in the coming months!

Pumpkin Patch 2013

I've been a total slacker about blogging on here, but the reality is we have been quite boring lately!
We went to the pumpkin patch over the weekend and had lots of fun picking pumpkins, squash, and gourds!

Weekend Recap

We had a very fun filled and busy Labor Day Weekend!

Saturday morning Brandon and I got up bright and early to do the Midway Swiss Days 10k.  Brandon did awesome! He finished under an hour, which is awesome! I didn't think I was going to make it, but I did! :)

Saturday was Avie's actual birthday.  I bought her a little cupcake and she dug right in! She had so much fun eating that cupcake.

I adore her face in this picture.

Charlie hanging out on Grandpa Tad's horse.  He also got to go with papa and run lots of errands! He had a great time hanging out with papa Tad!

Sunday we had Hannah and Avie's actual birthday party.  We invited friends and family and had a really good time.  We wanted to thank everyone for coming and supporting both girls on their birthday! :)

This is out of order, but I'm too lazy to fix the pictures. :)

Friday night we got up to my parents house and Brandon and my dad put up a brand new swing set for the kids.

The kids had fun playing on it most the weekend.  Charlie biffed it several times on the see-saw.  He kept flipping over the handle bar and almost hitting his head.  It was scaring the crap out of me, he finally got the hang of it after a while.

We came home Monday, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of this cute girl in some of her new jammies she got for her birthday. :)

I actually took this picture friday afternoon before we left.  Charlie has to sleep with a bunch of his toys in his bed.  He cracks me up. :)

We had a great weekend!  We always enjoy going up north and spending time with family.  We are really going to miss going up there so often, when we move to St. George next year!

Hannah's First Day of Kindergarten and First Soccer Game

Hannah started kindergarten last week! I really can't believe it's finally happening! My baby is going to school! She's been in preschool for three years now! It's about time!

I took a bunch of pictures of her before she went off to school.....

Her first day went really well, except for the fact that she got put on the wrong bus on the way home and was an hour late getting home! I was one freaked out momma! We got it all figured out and it shouldn't happen again. :)

This is Hannah's first year playing soccer.  Brandon is her assistant coach.  It was so fun to watch the little kids play soccer.  They are so cute.  Hannah had a hard time with pushing other players when she was getting the ball.  She plowed over a boy at one point and got into trouble! :)
