- Hannah started first grade! She loves being in school all day and eating lunch at school. She is doing really well with her reading, and loves math. :) She also just started a tap/ballet/jazz combo class this year, and she LOVES it!
- Charlie is back in preschool. He really enjoys going to school, and riding the bus! We also just potty trained Charlie. We waited a long time to do it, but finally a few weeks ago we buckled down and did it over a weekend. He is doing awesome!
- Avery turned 2! I can't believe that! She is a little sassy spit fire! She's officially in the terrible two stage and has a big attitude, and knows how to throw pretty epic tantrums. She keeps me on my toes. :)
- Brandon is loving his job with the department, and he is going to begin studying for his Engineering exam that will be coming up in less than a year. Once he passes that he will be a certified Professional Engineer. :) I am so proud of all that he's accomplished thus far, and I know he will do great on his exam when the time comes. He also has picked up a few new hobbies, wood working and also shooting. He has taken the kids a few times with him to the shooting range and they just love it!
- I have been so busy! I am working more and more for Fort Worth Fabric Studio. I run their blog and make samples and write tutorials. It's an amazing job, and I tell Brandon all the time how blessed I am to have a stay at home job and do something that I love doing. :) I will be flying out to Texas in October to go to Quilt Market with my boss and I can't wait!
- On a different note, a few months ago I was called to be a Young Women's advisor in our ward. I have really enjoyed it so far. Last Sunday, Brandon and I were called in for a meeting with the 1st counselor of the bishopric. I had no idea what this could be about because, both of us just received new callings two months prior. Brandon went in first, and came out not even five minutes later. I thought it was odd. So when I went in, I really had no idea what to expect. Well, I have been called to be the Young Women's First Counselor. To say I was shocked, was a bit of an understatement. I felt like this is such a big responsibility, and honestly I felt I was just getting the hang of being an advisor! However, I am really excited and overwhelmed with gratitude with this opportunity. I know it will make my life a little bit more hectic than it already is, but I know our family will be blessed greatly.
Our family theme this year!
- Last, but not least we have a new member in our family! Her name is Pearl, and she is the cutest little thing in the world. I am super allergic to cats, but with all my medicine, I can tolerate being around her. She stays mostly outside, but we let her in the house all the time. We are pretty darn smitten with this little kitten!
