My dear friend Aaron Beesley lost his life on June 30th during a UHP helicopter rescue mission.
His funeral was terrible and wonderful at the same time. I've gone to pick up my phone a hundred times in the last two weeks to call him about something. It still seems like he should still be around.
I'll have more to talk about in the blog as I get ready, but I wanted to share a few pictures from his funeral.
I asked Patti and David if they would come and take some pictures of the funeral procession and grave site ceremony. They graciously spent the whole day there. I know from my years in dispatch that dispatchers don't often get to attend the funerals and depend on others to pay their last respects. I asked Patti and David to try to capture the scope of the event for those who weren't there. I think they did wonderful job. A couple of links - my favorites here and a good try at capturing all the agencies who were represented here.
