Senior Pictures for Emily

The other week I took some pictures for Emily who will be graduating from high school next month.

I always have the same rule for taking pictures - I'll give it a good try, but I can't receive any compensation because then there are expectations. If they end up lousy, then you just wasted a few hours. If you paid for lousy pictures, we end up in court. I don't know if I could handle a judge saying, "yeah, you're right. These are pretty lousy."

Emily was a sport. It took a long time, and she was very accommodating with me not knowing what I'm doing. I'm going on the assumption that she's going to go to a real photographer, but I think some of these ended up pretty nice.

Since she's not paying me, I didn't mind changing her to a brunette for one picture.

And back to blonde.

Yeah - you definitely wouldn't pay for this one.

The Untitled Exhibit

I've said before that the Rio Grande frequently changes the artwork in the main lobby.

Currently the exhibition is called "Untitled." It allows the viewer to come up with and submit his or her own title to the works on display.  It's not quite up when I'm composing this (4/5/12), but should be done soon.

Pictures from Eagle Gate

My second office is at the Eagle Tower which is part of the City Creek Shopping Center in Downtown Salt Lake. I will admit that I'm not that fond of walking through the food court to get to work. I do like that we park across the street in a ten-story parking terrace which is open on top. It's pretty awesome for pictures of downtown.

Remote Trigger

We've got this little remote control for our camera. We figured it was time for everyone to go out into the front yard for a family picture, and for fun we all took turns taking the picture.

Everyone was pretty good about hiding the remote control before the picture clicked except Thomas.

He embraced every second of using the ray gun.

Here Come the Magnolias

The Magnolias started to bloom on General Conference weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll get a couple of weeks with them in bloom.
