Boxing Day

Spent Christmas Eve with high school friends, Christmas Day with family, and Boxing Day with college friends. What nice allocation of time ;)

Went fullhouse for my boxing day dinner, and snowflakes for desert as portion was quite small, but I was actually quite full after I'm done with my drinks, but some desert after wouldn't hurt? heheh, call me a pig if you like, I'll admit, I do eat like one, thus, the fats. ><

Not many were free so it was just down to us 6, Kaartig, Michelle, Bon, Sheng Kang, Bibi and I, but it was a nice gathering and catch up though. Bon even drove all the way from KKB and back after dinner O.o wert......

I had the 'Wok Sear Chicken Chop' (something like that), tasted really nice ^^ as for drinks, I got the peach green tea, nice too, and at least it's a huge cup unlike the one at Secret of Louisiana that cost me a whooping Rm8.90!!! This one only cost me RM4.90 ^^

Merry Merry Christmas Eve

Awesome, awesome Christmas eve celebration~ best of all is almost everyone could make it!! Though Wen Kai's in America, he was still present thanks to the creators of modern technology, and bless the maker of skype.

This year we chose to celebrate our Christmas at a restaurant overlooking Kelana Jaya Lake, something different instead of the mundane Curve and 1 Utama every year. The restaurant is called Secret of Louisiana. Location, pretty good as it's overlooking the lake, just that they should add a little more lights to the lake as it was quite dark. Food wise, not bad, quite nice, but for the price, heheh..... I was expecting more out of it. I ordered some Shrimp Spaghetti and gosh did it take forever to come!!!! 3 of my other friends ordered the same thing but theirs already came and mine was still stuck in the kitchen for no apparent reason. It was pretty much just plain pasta cooked with shrimps, so it has a shrimpy taste. I have to say the shrimp tasted really good though. I normally never liked the head of the shrimp but for this I sucked them all clean!!! yum~~

It looks something like this just that with spaghetti, haha!! I didn't snap pictures myself so I'll just have to make do with what the others has =P

Kai Ru actually brought her netbook so that we could skype with Wen Kai. Apparently his time there is 7am, haha!! Poor thing have to get up so early on a Saturday~ But we did have fun seeing him, and because his computer has no mic/speaker he resorted to calling us with his cell, so we were basically on skype and on the phone with him, farny~~

We had a Secret Santa gift exchange session whereby all of us are required to buy gift for random people in our group and that person or anyone else won't know who it's from, but in the end we still told, so no difference =P It was still fun though!

From my Secret Santa, Jia Hui!!!! It's a book light ^^ Thank you!!!! haha, so adorable~~ but I think I'll be using it more as a torchlight =P really handy and bright.

We went over to UFO, SS2 for our 'after party' haha!!! and know what, first time I see SS2 being so empty O.o Christmas really do make a difference huh? there was ample parking there!!! Well, while everyone is crowding in Curve/1 Utama/ anywhere else, we were nice and comfy in the shop eating dessert, haha!!!

Oh joyous Christmas~~ How I yearn for your arrival next year~~ But then again, it means that I'll be turning yet another year older O.o noooooooo!!

Back from holidays, back to reality. So much to do, so little time. Will update about my trip soon once I get hold of all the pictures, unless if I get lazy then maybe I won't. But now, it's time to get some sleep, miss my bed so much, sweet dreams world~

Anticipating

Can't wait for my holidays!!! 3 more days to go and I'm out of this country, yeah~~ gonna skip my CAD class >< but I don't really have a choice, my mom called me to skip, but I still have the sense of guiltiness in me, am I having some OCD syndrome? Well, I just don't like to miss out on classes ok.....

After months of stressing out for my first term, finally Christmas holidays is coming!!! But, there's a catch, there always is, we still get work T.T !@#$%^&*() hate my college.... argh!!! Whatever, life still has to go on, might as well find ways to be happy rather than being miserable throughout my life.

And guess what, for once, I'm actually ahead in my work!!! haha!!! so happy~~ I have 2 models, 1 research, 1 CAD drawing & 1 essay draft to complete this week, and I've already done 1 model, half my research (I think it's half?), and my CAD drawing, that's like, half my work!! ^^ normally I'll be done with either 1 or nothing seeing tomorrow is still a holiday. So proud of myself!!!! (but the work is sort of simple, am I still considered hardworking?) Hopefully I'll continue my "hardworking" streak, but I have a feeling it's already starting to fade away, as it is I'm already lazy now and I don't want to continue >< hence, here I am entertaining my blog, lala~~

Satisfying Online Shopping Experience

Finally done with my project ^^ but we got another one in less than 24 hours, literally....

Anyhow, that's not the point of this post. I bought some items online recently and they've arrived!! Bought them from some china website and they are surprisingly good quality for the price I paid for =D


I got this 'Twilight' pencil box for RM6 (had to pay for the internal china postage as well, if not it would only have cost rm3), I read the comment many of them were saying the quality was bad, but I think it's not that bad, besides being thin, others are pretty acceptable. And I just love the vintage feel~~ that's the reason why I bought it anyway.

Both the owl earrings were approx. RM2 each. I was actually looking for owl necklace but was in vain. In the end I came across this 2 and how do you expect me to resist it being only RM2?? I just had to get them. XD

Necklace, approx. RM2 as well. I got it because I wanted to convert it into a charm actually, but it turned out a little too big, could still be done though. The chain is a little short for a necklace, was expecting it to be a long necklace but it turned out to be the short type which doesn't suit the style of the pendant. But it's only RM2? haha!! I doubt you can find such cheap things anywhere else~


But I think the best buy I had has got to be this bag. It's so called 'Topshop' design (a not so nice way of saying would be Topshop celup, or imitation topshop =P). Don't really know is the design really from Topshop but that's not why I bought it anyway. I bought it as I wanted a vintage like bag and I came across this. And guess how much is it? RM10!! Tell me, where can you find such a design for RM10? A small pouch maybe, but for a bag of this design would at least cost you Rm30. The quality is surprisingly good for it's price, was expecting to see seams everywhere or faulty buckles but it turned out fine. Hopefully it'll last though, haven't used it yet. It is a little smaller than expected, but it's sufficient to put necessities, appropriate for simple outings. Overall I still love it, and I just couldn't get over the fact that's it's so cheap.

Total I spent for all 5 items is RM22, added on postage to Malaysia would be RM 7 as I shared with my friends, if not it's RM14/kg on normal basis, but now I think it's on promo period so it's only RM10/kg. So the nett total came up to RM29, but divided among 5 items, it's RM6/item, which is still cheap! ^^ Really satisfied with my buys this round, will be shopping again when there's cheap promotions, have to stock up on $$$!!

Hair Colour

Just got a new colour about a week ago, and boy am I loving it! I asked for maroon and was expecting it to be more purple though, but it turned out like all my previous colours which was reddish brown, just that this time it came with a slight tinge of purple which is visible under certain conditions. But I still love it, and at least it's visible. Still remembered when I first coloured my hair people didn't notice until I told them and they were shocked when they found out that my hair was actually coloured...


You could see 2 different variations in the colour under different lighting. Under dimmer circumstances, the purplish red is more visible, but under sunlight it looks so brown!!! I hope that the colour would last though, normally red/purple tones won't get by a month, so let's see how long this would last. =)

Embracing Sleepless Nights

Like I've predicted, that sales women didn't call =.= aihz.... is there any trustworthy people out there nowadays, all of them just crap for their own benefits. I'm going to go there this Saturday and ask though, and she better have stock. If not I'll just have to live with the black one :( I like the brown better.... I hate sales people...

Anyhow, I'm currently working on my project, super hectic. Somehow I can't seem to find the motivation to do my work. My dateline is due next Tuesday and I'm only, what, 15% done?!?!?! I'm not done with my model, currently only 1 floor is done, have another to go, but even so it looks so unfinished!!! Maybe it's my colour scheme, I dunno, I do hope it's not because of my workmanship, my model looks so sketchy :( I don't know what else can I do to make it look 'complete', so I guess I'll just have to make do with it....

After my model, I still have drawings and presentation board to do. More late nights for me. Hmm, but I'm still taking my own sweet time. Bless me.

My New Love

So happy~~~ I didn't know that I could really shop during Jusco member sale. Previous years when I went for the sales I tend to come back empty handed, but this time my mom and I bought a total of RM500+!!!! Gosh, that's half a thousand!!

But if u look at the stuff, it ain't much. If you stuff all of them together it will only fill up 2 big jusco bags. I would have expected RM500+ to fill up at least..... 10 bags? haha, maybe I think too much, but I'm sure that's what you'll think too right? (that's what movies would do though) Specially since it's a sale, so the prices are cheaper and hence, more stuff.

Anyhow~ I bought 2 tops, a fashion jacket, a pair of jeans, a bag, and my most prized buy of the day, a new pair of boots!!!! Oh gosh, even until now I couldn't stop thinking about it!! I'm actually quite shocked that my mom actually agreed to buy it for me. When I saw it and turned the boots over to look at the price, RM399 stared right back at me O.O and I kinda lost hope already, but I still tried it on for fun though, haha!! It doesn't look nice at all on the racks, but when it's on your feet, oh gosh, you'll fall deeply in love with it ♥ I got my mom to take a look at it and she was like, you sure you're gonna wear it? You sure it's nice to walk in? Sure it's not too small? Well, you get my point. And gosh is it comfortable~~ My feets were hurting from all the walking I did but when I put on that pair of boots, all the pain went away~ it's so cushiony ♥ And guess what, at first I thought it was only 10% off, in the end there was actually a whooping 30%!! It's originally 20% off but Jcard member had an extra 10%, weeeee!! so the end price was RM279, and since it's Jcard day, for every RM100 you'll get RM10 rebate, so if you minus all those out, it's only RM259. ^^ Yes, I know, it's still hundreds, and those who knows me will very well know that I even consider a RM60 shoe expensive! Though that's the normal price for shoes nowadays. But, well, in my defense, it's gonna be my walking boots, and you can't exactly get a cheap yet good pair of walking boots? heheh....

There were 2 designs there, 1 was a normal, leather boots with a fury rim at the ankles, another is somewhat like a pair of oxfords, both don't look nice AT ALL on the racks!! And trust me, they really don't. Moreover they're wedges, so they don't have that sophisticated, sexy heels to attract you to it, but when you wear them on, yes, they're absolutely stunning!! But I preferred the fury one because it is easier to wear, the oxfords one had shoe laces and a velcro strap, kinda primary school-ish, and it's a little tedious when you wanna wear, so I went for the fury one instead. But know what, they didn't have stock for brown colour!!! They only had stock for the black one, but luckily the sales lady was really nice and said that we could buy the shoe first, then when the stock comes in next week, she'll allow me to change ^^ yeay!!!! I do hope she keep her words and remembers though, as you know some sales people just say for the sake of getting you to buy, then they won't bother about any after sale services, but she seemed genuine, so I trust her, haha!

Anyhow, I'm a happy girl now ^^ Thank you mommy!!!! Really did not expect you to buy it for me, thank you!!!! muax!!! Love you so much~~

The Little, Minor, Insignificant Things in Life

I'm sick today. My whole body felt warm last night and when I woke up, my throat was so dry and I'm having cough now. But when I woke up this morning, I made myself a nice cup of warm honey and that really made my day ^^ after that I started thinking about all the small little things that makes me happy, and boy are they plenty.

Here's 10 that I came up with, but there's still more to it~:

1. Having a nice cup of hot chocolate on a cold day
2. Sipping on honey or milk when I'm sick
   
3. Waking up on a holiday's morning knowing that I can fall back to sleep
4. Just staring out into the rain and hearing its drops hit the ground
5. Receiving or hearing an 'I Love You' from a loved one ♥
6. Sit around on a lazy day staring out into greenery with a cup of hot drink
7. Beating that high score that seemed oh so impossible
8. Hearing that 'click click' sound on old keyboards
9. Seeing people smile because of me
10. Reminiscing and day dreaming
    

Haha, some of them seems so mindless and anti social and..... well, just plain crazy. But I guess everyone has they're own share of eccentric-ness and it's because of that that life becomes more bearable at times. ^^

Insights to My New Semester

So..... College has started for about 2 months and projects are starting to kick off, and it ain't well. I could not really grasp the idea of what my lecturer means by 'Concept', and neither does my other group mates. The way my other lecturer defines it back in year 1 was way different, and now with this lecturer, I'm gonna need a whole lot of time getting used to it :S

But all is not in vain!!! Despite being in the 'confused group' which has entirely failed all our concept and had to redo, we won the conceptual workshop!!! hahaha, ironic isn't it.... The head of the module conducted a workshop whereby she wanted us to find our concept based on given sources, and our group got 'quotes from famous musicians or artist'. Bless Steve Jobs and whoever else who contributed in the making of iPhone, we managed to log on the Internet to do our research, as the lecturer forbids us from leaving our little petite classroom other than heading to the bathroom, and we weren't prepared as we weren't informed of what we were doing on that day. And, well, my poor little nokia couldn't even find a single bar of wifi signal.

I guess it was a stroke of luck, as we just sort of 'tembak' everything out, and we were so behind time!!!! We SO HAPPENED chose Walt Disney for our quote which went "If you can dream it, you can do it", SO HAPPENED chose interlocking for our concept, and SO HAPPENED took M&Ms as our client. So basically everything related back to kids!! And that's how we won~~ XD

Present for My Dear Daddy ♥

My dad's birthday was a few weeks back and I decided to make him a gift as I couldn't afford to buy one on my own, I needed my bro to chip in for the present, but, oh well, he couldn't really be bothered in getting a present =.= We were suppose to buy it after my dad's birthday but he looked for 1 day and totally forgotten about it....

But at least I made gift for my dad on his birthday ^^ it's the thoughts that count right? hehe~~ It's a little heart pillow key chain placed inside a display box, as I know he won't use such key chains, so I made a box for him to display it in.

The whole thing is entirely hand made my mua! I actually got the idea from my foundations project, the box idea was from my group and the heart pillow was from steph's group, and I should really thank her for showing me how to sew back then, if not I wouldn't know how to make this gift XD haha!!!

Good Kisser

Ever heard people saying that if you managed to tie a cherry stem into a knot in your mouth means that you're a good kisser? or maybe even a great kisser. I've passed the test and can rightfully call myself a good kisser!!!

We're having Jonathan's Farewell later, he'll be going off to uk for about a year, sobs ='( another person leaving~~ but I don't have any gifts though >< sorry.....

SC is having a trip to Pangkor ^^ wee, holiday!!! But we're coming back the day before my college starts O.O the irony..... Can't even have fun to the fullest T.T

Oh, and did I mention that my holidays is only for another week? Then it's back to hell!!! omg, dreading it right now :S 8-9 months of *gulp* bad skin condition, sleepless nights, stress, anxiety, depression, work, fear.... need I mention more?

Lalala~~~ I'm sick T.T hahaha!!! what a weird way to start a blog post.

I can finally connect to the Internet from my room!!! *happy~~* I don't know why but I suddenly could, and I hope the line continues to remain good so that I can use my com in the future =D

Okay.... this post is starting to turn awkward. I don't really know what to write actually but I just felt like writing something since I have nothing else better to do, so, yea~~

oh oh, Kai Ru told me that the stuff we bought online should be arriving soon!! Can't wait ^^ but I have a feeling that even after I receive my stuff, I would still feel like doing more shopping, typical gal =P Well, if you look at the stuff I bought, I only have 3 new tops, the rest are leggings and a cardigan, and also 1 top looks a bit 'dramatic' (in the pic though, in real I have yet to decide) so I don't think I'll be wearing it for casual wear, so that leave me with 2 tops, and it ain't much ok!! 2 days of wearing them and you don't have anything new to wear >< I do hope the quality is good though, and most importantly is that the style suits me and I'll wear them! I've been buying lots of online stuff that in the end just sits in the cupboard cause they either make me look fat, or the quality is just terrible =( but now after buying a few times, I do hope I finally get the hang of it and get the right stuff, hehe~

The Secret Series

As I'm still on holidays, and since I've wasted most of it doing NOTHING!! I think it's by time I do something a little more useful, like reading!!

I've thought of learning some programs like AutoCad or brush up on Sketchup or maybe even Photoshop. But, well, I'm not exactly the tech enthusiast type as I get very impatient when it comes to learning design programs, so, haha, guess I've failed on this thought.

So, I've picked up some books to read instead!! All my languages are getting rusty, so I guess I should at least preserve my English, and pray hard that my Chinese and BM won't go all the way down the drain~~

I've came to know of this series cause my bibi lent them to me and said it was interesting, and the cover sort of attracted me because of its colourfulness (I feel like such a small kid XD). It's called The Secret Series with it's first book called 'The Name of this Book is Secret'.

When I read the first few pages, the narrating style reminded me of Lemony Snicket's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. The writer writes in a way that it is as if he is communicating with you, like he is conversing with you. It's interesting in a way, but at some points it does get annoying too.

Some parts of the story seems rather illogical, somewhat like a fairytale with a modern twist, or is modern fairytale the term for it? No, when I say fairytale I'm not talking about prince and princesses, but rather things that are surreal, like magic and talking creatures, and characters with eccentric personalities, written in a very child like manner, not such as teen novels like Twilight or Harry Potter, but such as novels like Enid Blytons. I'm sure many of you have heard of 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'? If you have read it, all the better, then you will understand what I mean.

The plot is pretty interesting and is a definite page turner. It's full of mysteries and suspense and you keep wanting to read on to know what happens next (I sleep at 6am because of this book, but also partially cause I'm a slow reader). And don't you find the cover attractive? It's so colourful!!!! aww~~ And not to mention it's shiny too XD I feel so immature....

I've just recently finish the 3rd book, have yet to buy the 4th book. I'll be getting it as soon as I get to a bookstore. But for now, I shall read other books first~~

Safe Trip Wen Kai!!

Wen Kai has finally left for the USA. We've been talking about it for so long but can't believe the day would finally arrive, time flies doesn't it?

We went to the airport to send him off. And know what, Malaysian airports are super inefficient =.= or is all airports that way? At first, they said his bags were overweight, fine, we accept that, flight policy, so he reduced. Then, after the weight was right, they say both bags have to be balanced O.o!! What on earth!! His bags totalled up to 46kg, 25 and 21kg respectively, but they say that both has to be 23 kg.... Does it really make a difference? Oh well, nothing much we can do~~ So he has to unpack and repack, tedious much....

Then, we went for dinner at mcd (which was super expensive by the way!!!) and finally Wen Kai has to go T.T and what an emotional sight.... never thought that everyone would be so emotional, but well, I guess under circumstances, things out of the ordinary would just happen, and we've been friends for 7 years!! And we didn't get a goodbye hug from him T.T boo hoo..... It was quite awkward at that moment, non of us really knew what to say and no one dared move, and worst is all his college friends were staring at us and his gf was beside him, so no one dared to hug him, haha!!

I don't know how Joe Yee, his girlfriend, is taking it, but hope she's alright, she's super strong, stronger than all of us XD haha!!

Assistant Secretary

I'm beginning to wonder, is the assistant secretary position for my student council cursed or something?!?! I'm not the only one that's wondering though, the rest are too.

Don't get me wrong, when I say 'cursed', I don't mean it that the person holding the position would encounter ill fate, I mean that the people holding the post would somehow leave cause of personal reason or their lost of interest in the council, and hence, the position would be left empty T.T

For the previous board, the asst. sec left because he sort of lost interest in the council, even before he was given the post he was already not very active, but somehow they still gave it to him and barely halfway through he just left, leaving the poor secretary to fight on his own X) and this year, it's not much different as well. My asst. sec left cause she was offered a job so she left college, and naturally, she have to leave the council as well O.O noooooo...... But I'm luckier cause I got a new one already, sorry sheng kang, I stole his assistant, so he's left with non >< we'll find one back soon for you, please don't come after me, heheh~~

Hopefully my assistant won't leave this time >< *fingers crossed*

Of Sunglasses And Nails

Well, before I start to ramble about my nails again, I shall start off with something else. I got a new pair of sunglasses!! haha!! I don't think my switch of topic really makes much difference does it? Non of them are really important X) but, I'm bored, and this is what I do~~

My new love ♥

It's not any Chanel or Gucci or Ray Ban or Oakley that would cost you hundreds, or maybe even thousands. Mine is brand-less and cost RM180, already very expensive to me, cheaper compared to the rest though, but at least it's a proper pair to protect my eyes.

Here's something that I would like to share with you all especially frequent sunglass wearers. If you're wearing cheap shades, I think it's best to throw them out and get a new pair. Not that all are bad, but do make sure that they have proper UV protection or it will actually cause more harm to your eyes compared to not wearing at all. Why? Because as most of you would know, when your eyes enter a dark surrounding, your pupils dilate (in another word, enlarge), to allow more light to enter so that you can see clearly. And when you put on a pair of sunglass, the same thing happens. So, if your lenses don't have proper UV protection, it will result in more UV entering and damaging your eyes, which might lead to cataract or other eye cancer.

If you're wondering if polarized lenses alone is enough to protect your eyes, answer is no. Polarized lenses only act as a blind to block out reflected light, so that you do not get the glare when looking are things, but it does not block out UV rays. So it's best to get a pair that is certified instead of getting cheap, fashion shades. However, like I've said, not all cheap glasses are bad, they should be fine as long as you get them from a proper retailer and they are certified. But it's best to run them through some test at your optician before being sure, though it's a bit odd to bring a pair of pasar malam sunglasses to your optician to be tested X)

Anyhow~~ back to my nails!! I'm pretty free so I'm into my nails again (I lost interest when I started college cause I don't have the time but now that I'm on holz, so I'm back baybeh!!) ^^ I saw this nail art technique online (*credits to cutepolish) and thought that I'd give it a try.

It's very easy to do actually, I didn't draw the words on my own, it's transferred from newspaper, so close your mouth if you're in shock of how I drew the words on, haha!! Actually, for all design students, we have already learned this method in college, called image transfer. It's pretty similar, just that the medium used to transfer is different that's all.

The transfer I did isn't very good, most of the wordings are really light and looks a bit like stain on my nails. I think I didn't use the proper medium that's why, the original artist used rubbing alcohol but I don't have any so guess what I've used? Vodka!!!! and it's non other than Absolute Vodka~~ hehe, I'm sure all you clubbers/drinkers out there are going to start cursing me for wasting good liquor on my nails X) but I've only used very little, barely even a shot glass, so chill~~ I shall try again another time with rubbing alcohol and post a picture of it if it turns out nice, hehe~~

O.P.I - Lucky Lucky Lavender

I have finally owned my very first bottle of O.P.I!!!!!! ♥♥♥

I bought it online and guess what, it's only RM20!! XD compared to the original price of RM69, hehehe~~ they were having a clearance that's why it was so cheap, so I can finally fulfill my dream of owning a bottle =P I do hope it's original though, haha!! Well, it does look like it is anyway.

I was so eager to try it on that as soon as my friend recieved the stock, I had to go out and 'yum cha' with her on that day to get my nail polish X) haha!! And, well, here's how it looks like after I apply:

Well~~ as you can see, it is kind of smooth, not like all those cheap nail polish which is super streaky. I love the glossy finish that it gives, makes your nails look like their salon done ;) But, well, for the price their selling (shall I remind you, RM69!!!) it had better be good. It's quite easy to apply on as well, just a few swipes and you're done. But you have to be a little quick, cause it'll dry of if you take too long (I guess they have a fast drying formula to it), but it shouldn't be a problem though.

But for me, personally, I don't find O.P.I all that it's hyped up to be. Well, for one, the colour is quite thin, even after 2 layers I could still see abit of uneven tone, you need about 3 layers. But for me, I normally prefer to apply a maximum of 2 layers, 3 layers is too thick and also because 2 layers gives a slightly translucent, natural look to your nails instead of an overly solid look. Another thing about O.P.I is that the ends chip off pretty quickly. After 1 day you could see slight chips at the corner of your nails and it's super annoying, you would be expecting better from such a brand. Maybe it's just my nails, I don't know, but I do have other polishes which stays for at least a couple of days before wearing off.

But, anyhow, I still love it, cause it makes my nails so shiny and glossy *bling bling* ( I love shiny stuff XD) It's still pricey though, so I don't think I could afford it, I shall find other alternatives. I heard that Skin Food is pretty good too, have yet to try it, and I found this brand from pasar malam called Miko, I've tried their nude colour and it's also super glossy!!! Not to mention it's only RM 5! Have yet to try other colours though, I shall write some reviews after I've tried some, hehe~~
