So I am still recovering from my midnight movie (little tired) but I decided to write a little review. Plus I am also interested to hear what all of you have to say. So for all of you have not seen it yet I would say don't read this...because you have to go into it without any expectations and remember that the Twilight in your head is not going to be the exact Twilight you see on the screen...and that's ok!So with that said.
Things I liked and loved:
*I was really glad how much I warmed up to Edward. I would not have cast him...but his acting made up for it.
*Bella was PERFECT! I loved her more in the movie than the book. That casting decision was spot on. Loved her!
*LOVED the kissing scenes where Edward had to restrain himself. He did such a good job portraying his passion for her and his desire to bite her neck and suck all the life out of her at the same time. GREAT kissing scenes :)
*All in all loved the chemistry between them. I could go on.
*Oh and loved the color of his eyes
*Loved Emmit! Great casting, good looking tough guy.
*Liked how they styled Victoria.
*Loved the scenery, it was soo beautiful!
Things that bugged me:
*Didn't like James...thought he was a bad, inexperienced actor.
*Didn't like Jasper at first. Thought he looked really cookey, instead of this incredible experienced fighter. Hated his 'deer in the head light' eyes. Thought it made him look wimpy. Hated his hair too. But warmed up to him during the base ball game.
*Alice for a minute seemed a little too Tinkerbell, but I thought she was casted really well and did a great job.
*A few times Edward had the bulging eyes like Jasper that to me looked scared. In the book Edward was always so confident and powerful that I didn't like that. He often did it when he was driving. But his eye expressions were awesome the majority of the movie.
*Thought special effects could have been a little better. Running, sparkling etc.
*Oh and Edward sooo should have had a body double for the sparkling chest shot. Sorry..Edward has a serious six pack.
*My biggest disapointment was Jacob. I couldn't get used to him. Not even close to being hot enough.
Anyway I could go on and on but I want to hear what all of you thought! I am excited to see it again and was pleasantly surprised how close they got it to the book.
As we were pulling in and seeing the hoards of people (girls) waiting in the freezing cold for hours, I was struck that Stephenie Meyer was a mom of three little kids just like me who woke up from a great dream and started writing. And look what came out of it. Think it's pretty cool and I am happy for her.
