Meet Lulu (Tahlula)

We have another girl our house! Crazy story...it all started with me driving by a bunch of freezing doggies outside of a vet's office that needed to be adopted. Ironically we didn't adopt one of those dogs, but a few days later I found Lulu online. She is a 4 year old Japanese Chin. She belonged to a breeder who wasn't breeding her anymore, and wanted to find her a good home. Two days later Greg, Indi and I drove to the middle of nowhere to pick her up. And WOW I will spare you the details but you wouldn't believe what we saw when we got there. She has been in shock for quite a while, living in a warm house with a soft bed. And had a little bit of issues with growling at the girls but after some great advice from some dog smart friends she is doing awesome. She LOVES to cuddle, never barks, is potty trained and we think she is pretty dang cute.
She is so mellow, she falls asleep sitting up all the time.

We love you Lulu and are so glad you found your way into our family!

Only Sloane.....

Santa has never brought any of my girls a special baby doll because the girl's cute Grammy has given them beautiful dolls. Well this year Beaux's #1 on her list was a baby from Santa. I was REALLY excited to have Santa pick out the perfect, special little baby doll for Beaux and put it under the tree. She loves Dollys. Santa had fun searching for the perfect one, finally he found it. It was a really nice dolly that cost the elfs a lot to make, but was too cute to pass up. He was soo excited. And I was so excited for Christmas morning.
After drying my hair upstairs I heard lots of excitment downstairs. I ran down the stairs with a bad feeling. As I got closer I heard Beaux squeeling "My baby is here, my baby is here!" Sloane was yelling something similar. I became sick and got to the bottom of the stairs and saw this....
Sloane had heard a knock at the door and opened it against the family rules. (mom wasn't with her) She saw a LARGE UPS box, nearly as big as she is. She drug it into the house and proceeded to open this generously taped box. (I have to use a knife everytime I get a box from UPS) After I gathered my sanity, held back my tears along with some rage...I asked Sloane how she got it open? She looked at me like it was a stupid question and said..."With my fingas."
Beaux was about ripping off the dolls head from the cardboard and Sloane had opened and scattered all the dolls special accessories she came with. I didn't even at least get to see her face when she saw her.

We decided an elf must have played a trick and delivered her early. Sloane felt a little slighted he didn't surprise her with anything.
Hopefully I will get over it by next year. It's a mom thing.

Let It Snow!!

My girls lOvE to play in the snow...and I love watching them. Beaux is wearing my snow suit that I wore when I was 2. It is not the least bit water resistant, but she doesn't seem to mind.

Kid Quote

Beaux came down the stairs crying with her hand on her forehead...
"Mom, Sloane hit me in the twohead!"
I think she thinks that because she is two, she has a twohead.

Long Awaited Twilight

So I am still recovering from my midnight movie (little tired) but I decided to write a little review. Plus I am also interested to hear what all of you have to say. So for all of you have not seen it yet I would say don't read this...because you have to go into it without any expectations and remember that the Twilight in your head is not going to be the exact Twilight you see on the screen...and that's ok!
So with that said.
Things I liked and loved:
*I was really glad how much I warmed up to Edward. I would not have cast him...but his acting made up for it.
*Bella was PERFECT! I loved her more in the movie than the book. That casting decision was spot on. Loved her!
*LOVED the kissing scenes where Edward had to restrain himself. He did such a good job portraying his passion for her and his desire to bite her neck and suck all the life out of her at the same time. GREAT kissing scenes :)
*All in all loved the chemistry between them. I could go on.
*Oh and loved the color of his eyes
*Loved Emmit! Great casting, good looking tough guy.
*Liked how they styled Victoria.
*Loved the scenery, it was soo beautiful!
Things that bugged me:
*Didn't like James...thought he was a bad, inexperienced actor.
*Didn't like Jasper at first. Thought he looked really cookey, instead of this incredible experienced fighter. Hated his 'deer in the head light' eyes. Thought it made him look wimpy. Hated his hair too. But warmed up to him during the base ball game.
*Alice for a minute seemed a little too Tinkerbell, but I thought she was casted really well and did a great job.
*A few times Edward had the bulging eyes like Jasper that to me looked scared. In the book Edward was always so confident and powerful that I didn't like that. He often did it when he was driving. But his eye expressions were awesome the majority of the movie.
*Thought special effects could have been a little better. Running, sparkling etc.
*Oh and Edward sooo should have had a body double for the sparkling chest shot. Sorry..Edward has a serious six pack.
*My biggest disapointment was Jacob. I couldn't get used to him. Not even close to being hot enough.
Anyway I could go on and on but I want to hear what all of you thought! I am excited to see it again and was pleasantly surprised how close they got it to the book.
As we were pulling in and seeing the hoards of people (girls) waiting in the freezing cold for hours, I was struck that Stephenie Meyer was a mom of three little kids just like me who woke up from a great dream and started writing. And look what came out of it. Think it's pretty cool and I am happy for her.

In the end, we decide if we're remembered for what happened to us, or for what we did with it.

Halloween Part 2

Trick or Treating at TuTu and Grandpa's

Greg and his witch

All of our cute friends ready to go hit the neighborhood!

Beaux's Tinkerbelle costume we have had for almost a year suddenly was missing. I actually don't know if she would have put it on anyway. She was NOT into the whole Halloween costume thing. She ran around all night trick or treating in her teedotoddo (leotard) and some shoes.

Sleeping Beauty

I am Indi's room mom this year. I don't think I was able to help once at school last year, so I really wanted to try to be more involved. Here we are on our way to her class party.

Indi was slightly excited or should I say thrilled about her costume this year. She was Queen Narissa from Enchanted. They weren't sold anywhere, luckily we have a very talented friend who came to our rescue...Thank you Carly!! (not my sister) She had never even seen the movie, but did some research and made this darling costume for us! We could not have loved it any more.
Indi glided into school with arms out and her cape floating as she walked. Proud as a peacock! As she walked into her class, the kids surrounded her. They didn't recognize her at first (no glasses and make up) and were telling her how much they loved her costume. It was so cute to watch, she loved the attention.

Indi and I made witch's brew!! The kids were soo fun, they couldn't get enough of it. It was a hit.

These were our some of our YUCKY ingredients!! Apple cores, rotten eggs, fingernails, purple paint, to name just a few.

Crazy, crazy Addie!
