July 2021

The first of our sod arrived July 1.  About 7-8 workers came and helped lay it.  It looked so nice!

We left a little spot for a garden. We also get "free" grass from our builder/subdivision, but it wasn't going to be delivered at the same time.

The next day they showed up and did most of the fence.

Megan's American Girl doll part of her room.

My planner from the Teaching Texan came.  It made me so happy to get out my pens and set up my plan book!

Emily and Megan hand-stitched these little pillowes.

We went on a short hike to some waterfalls with the girls' friend and her family.

We had a chance to go to the Ute Stampede Rodeo with Derek and Tansy and their kids. We had a picnic lunch at the city park before meeting up with them.

The kids had fun being with cousins. Eily, Alex, Nathaniel, Hadley, Tyler, Megan and Carolyn.

It was so cool to see the parachuter come in with flag.

The stunt motorcylcists were so cool at the end.

When the kids signed up for savings accounts last summer, they were given free tickets to the Aquarium.  We were able to go this summer.

Our "free" sod showed up.  We thought our landscape guy was going to have people come lay the sod.  When they still hadn't shown up by 6:00 p.m., we "got" to do it ourselves.

Our neighbor lent us his little cart and his daughter, Abby.

It was a tiring process, but the kids did a nice job of stepping up to help out.  We were so glad that we didn't have to lay more than we did.

When we went to get our hair cut, Megan mentioned she would like to have  some color in her hair. She was given a $15 deal to get a "money piece."

The first color was too yellow, but it got fixed.

The end

Disney 2021

Two summers ago the kids and I were helping out at a PTA service project.  We weeded and helped clean up around the school grounds.  We were super suprrised to find out that we had "won" 5 one-day tickets to Disneyland!  We wanted to go last summer, but couldn't thanks to COVID-19, so we were super excited to go this year.  We knew we couldn't do everything at both parks that we'd like to in 1 day, but we were able to do a lot.

We started out the day with breakfast-cinnamon rolls for the girls, a chocolate muffin for Tyler and Darrell and I had egg and bacon croissants.

So cute!

Our first stop was Galaxy's Edge.

We went on Millennium Falcom:  Smugglers Run.

We bought blue and green milk.  We shouldn't have bought one for everyone, because the cost was outrageous, and Emily and Megan didn't even like theirs.  I thought the blue milk was better.

The bathroom in Galaxy's Edge

Emily, Megan and I went on Splash Mountain.  We had to sat in the front and got soaked.

Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion

Good old Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse

Main Street Parade

Star Tours

We got chimichangas for lunch, although Darrell got a big turkey leg.

The kids and I went on Space Mountain. (Darrell doesn't like many rides).

Enjoying some Dole Whips

The characters were behind fences or up far away, but this is the best we got:

We then went over to California Adventure.

We went on Soarin' Around the World, but I didn't get a very good picture.

Anna and Elsa

Radiator Springs

Darrell and I shared a Monte Cristo sandwich for dinner.  Emily got a Ka-cheesburger and Tyler and Megan got corn dogs.

Tyler and Emily went in a "tippy cage" on the Ferris Wheel, while Megan and I went on the Incredicoaster.

Such a great picture of Emily, Tyler, Megan and Darrell at California Adenture as the sun was starting to set.

We went back to Disneyland to do the Millennium Falcom one more time and missed the fireworks show, but we did see the castle lit up.

It was a long, wonderful day!=
