I unashamedly (well, OK somewhat ashamedly) admit I have allowed the DVD player to "babysit" when I really need to get something done.
Thank you Baby Mozart and Baby Beethoven.
Tyler is mesmerized by them!
I have to keep pulling him back.

Super Turbo Learning
At the moment Tyler is sitting on my lap, somewhat listless as the effects of RSV take a toll on him.
But in healthier times it's amazing to me how fast he's learning and growing.
After two months of the army crawl, Tyler has moved up to the "advanced" group. Watch out!
Tyler has also tried his hand at pulling himself up to stand.
And he's climbed the stairs. (He's also mastered unloading the diaper bag and my purse. The evidence is on the floor.)
His little pincers are getting good at picking things up.
Tyler even "sang" in church with us. I don't have a picture, but it was dang cute.
Along with the super turbo learning has come some super charged tantrums. I never knew he felt so passionately about getting his diaper changed or having to get OUT of a shopping cart, but the size of his tantrums at these times would prove me wrong! Thank goodness most of the time he looks like this:

Happy Birthday Carol!
Today is Darrell's mom's birthday, and since we can't be there to celebrate, we'd like to send a very special Happy Birthday on our blog.
Carol is brave (she's a breast cancer survivor), loving (she welcomed me with open arms the first time I met her), a fabulous wife (she and Wayne have been married for 48 years), a wonderful mother (Darrell couldn't have had a better one), a super terrific grandma (let's just say Tyler is one spoiled boy), and a great friend to so many (I've loved meeting her friends when we've visited).
Grandma, we love you!!!!! Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Kimberly
My sister's birthday is today!!!!
Here's the birthday girl, well...after her birth.
Here she is with her kitty Puff (oh and Greg and me with our kitties too).
After getting a pre-view of me in the previous picture, I'm sure you won't mind if we just jump ahead (quite) a few years to our singles days.
One of the best things Kimberly and I have done is to travel together. Here we are at the Arc de Triumf in Barcelona, Spain.
And here we are hiking a volcano in Guatemala.
Here we are after a rainstorm on some ruins in Mexico.
Here's Kimberly (and Sage) looking beautiful on her wedding day.
And here's Kimberly and her beautiful family this past summer.
Kimberly is such a great mom, and I look up to her tons. She is a fabulous sister and I love her so much. Happy Birthday, Aunt Kimbo!

What Will Tyler Be When He Grows Up?
A chef?
A couch potato?
A paper shredder?
A poster boy for a remake of "Jeepers Creepers,
Where'd You Get Those Peepers?"
A veterinarian?
A tumbler?
A basketball player?
An editor or author?
A musician?
A mountain climber?
A racer?
Or a make up artist for clowns?
One thing's for sure--he'll always be Daddy and Mommy's cute little boy!
