The Move(s)

What is crazier than moving? Moving twice! We searched high and low and decided which neighborhood we wanted to live in but didn't find a house that suited our needs, so we decided to build one. It will not be ready until early November and we closed on our house at the end of July. Soooooo, we are now living with my parents. Here is the progress so far.... Nice huh?? JK :) They are supposed to break ground this coming week. We shall see.......

Changes

This summer has already proved to be busy, busy, busy. After 6 months of trying to keep the house clean and making it appear that no one lived here, we finally have a contract on our house and are in the process of building another. In the meantime, back home to my parent's house I go, with 3 extras!! It will be a crazy few months, with my sister's wedding being in the midst of the move, but will be well worth the wait! At least I think so. My sister will also be living there until the wedding so it will be a FULL HOUSE!!! Anniston recently got her ears pierced and is SO girly! She puts on her "makeup" every day, brushes her hair, picks out her clothes, and puts in a clip or headband. All by herself. She wants to wear neclaces and rings. I asked her if she wanted to play softball when she got older and she said, "NO! Ballet!". Well OK then. Hutch is slightly obsessed with Spiderman right now. Too bad he is too young to go see the new movie. We've seen ...

It's been awhile....

Please excuse my lack of posting. I recently read in a parenting book that the age in life where we have the most energy EVER is age 3. And I have two 3 year olds. Enough said! Summer has just begun but we've been very busy!! Hutch and Anniston have both completed swimming lessons and we are anxious to get back in the pool to practice what they have learned. They recently started back to summer MDO and we've also had VBS at our church. Hutch is fully recovered from his tonsillectomy and I have GREAT news.....he MAY not have asthma! Let me explain. We went for a check up with our allergist and Hutch was able to do the "blow the leaves off the tree" test and passed with flying colors. 97 or above on every aspect, and over 80% is "normal". And he didn't even blow as hard into the contraption as he could have. He was being shy and after the test he blew into it so hard that I know he would have gotten 100% on all his tests. So we have cut his asthma trea...

Big Boy!!

I can't very well post about the baby girl and not the baby boy! But, as much as I hate to say it, they are not babies anymore. The newest announcement is that Hutch is finally out of diapers. Woo hoo!! I've had quite a few people "judge" me for him being in diapers past the age of 3, but I didn't let it get to me, with good reason. Some may not know, but Hutch has never liked to eat. He has always preferred to drink and would drink about 10 cups of liquid a day. Some milk, some water, and some heavily watered down juice. Okay and a few sips of Coke here and there :) He had his favorite foods that he would sometimes eat, but generally only drank. I started giving him smoothies to help him get his nutrients but the bottom line was that he didn't like to eat and about 9 months ago I figured out why: his tonsils were HUGE and it was hurting the little guy to eat food. The liquid was soothing. So he drank and drank and I begged and begged for a tonsillectomy but...

Big Girl!

Guess who is potty trained?!?! I could not be more proud of Anniston. We've been working on potty training for quite awhile and she is now officially potty trained!! I opted for letting her train herself. I have heard everything from training a one year old to use the potty to kids going to kindergarten in diapers. Both are absurd. I decided to gradually introduce the idea and let her go. And she has done a great job. For those of you interested, this is what we did: Beginning at about 2 yrs old I started putting her on the potty right before she got in the bathtub. Sometimes she went, sometimes not. I would sporadically ask her if she wanted to use the potty. Sometimes she did, sometimes not. At around 2 1/2 I would ask her if she wanted to wear big girl panties and occasionally she would. She would usually have accidents and then want to get a diaper back on. Again, just introducing the concept and letting her catch on. At around 3 she asked to wear panties out in public as wel...
