Happy 10th Birthday Ethan

Today we celebrated Ethan's big double digital birthday, the big "10"!

We started the day with a big bang. A porche coming up our street went out of control and flew up our neighbors driveway and ran into their garage, where our neighbor kept his Mustang Roush. The poor guy in the car was pretty banged up. He said that his gas peddle was stuck all the way to the floor. Needless to say it was quite exciting in our front yard.
We were able to take cupcakes to Ethan and his classmates. They were a big hit, along with the three other dozen that they had for their class Halloween party. The whole class was on complete sugar overload.
Ethan came home from school to find a few of his favorite things waiting for him and later today we were able to have a small family birthday party for him.Ethan is a the best kid. He has the funniest since of humor, he loves to snuggle, he loves to read his scriptures and learn about the gospel, he loves to read, and he loves math. Ethan is the best and we completely love and adore him! Happy big "TEN" E!

A White Halloween

We woke up this morning to a nice surprise....or maybe not. It was snowing and pretty hard. I must have had about 6 inches all over my car. The kids loved it and started singing Christmas songs. I had to remind them that we haven't even got to Halloween yet. Anyway, I don't know if I am ready for real weather!

Poor Elijah waiting at his bus stop!

PS It's now 10:16 P.M. and still snowing!

Another Busy Week

What an exciting week. Elijah's team took second place in a big soccer tournament. He got his first medal here in town. Teams came from place over a 100 miles away...it was huge, there were three participating teams....Just Kidding!Ethan earned his Bear Badge in Cub Scouts, and we didn't wait till the night before his 10th birthday.....woohoo for me!We found out that we have heated tiles in our bathroom, or at least that is what James kept telling me, it turned out to be a broken hot water pipe. We had a flood underneath our house. It will be awhile before we get that side of the house back in order....Good thing my parents aren't here this week, we have moved into their room.
James got bit by a spider on his hand. He swore it was a Brown Recluse. Some old Navajo lady came into his work and with some spit, tobacco, and charcoal, put some goop on his hand and the swelling went away. His hand looked like it was Shrek's, it was huge, hot, and swollen....GROSS!

Definitely the best part of the week was going to my niece's baptism. What a sweet little girl. Her and Olivia just love each other.

A Tribute to Samantha

I have been thinking a ton about my sister Samantha lately....I don't think there is a minute that goes by that I don't, but because it is fall and Halloween time, she has been on my mind a lot. She loved this time of year so much, and would prepare for it months before. I wanted to post pictures of some of her decorations. They are so cute and so Samantha. I love this time of year too, and will always look forward to putting up the decorations that she loved so much.....Miss and love you Samantha. I also wanted to post some pictures of Olivia's soccer game on Saturday. I can honestly say that her games in San Diego weren't as beautiful as they are here. The trees are fully changing now and it is absolutely breathtaking!

By the way Olivia's soccer team is doing really well and they think they will have a killer team in a few years. Ethan is doing great on his team... they love to have him, he is a great defender. Elijah's team is undefeated and doing extremely well. His season will not be over for a while, they will be doing a couple of tournaments in Albuquerque.

90 Year Old "Clue"

Tonight we went over to Great Granny Blair's house to play the board game "Clue". It was the funniest night we have had in quite a long time. Granny has obviously forgotten how to play, she is 90 now, and kept giving away all of her cards. When it was her turn and she asked everyone about a certain clue and they would show her, she would yell out (She was missing her teeth and her hearing aids) "So do I mark off the knife now?" The kids started to catch on to her too, and every time she got a new set of cards they would say "Here Granny let me help you"....they would quickly mark off her cards on their clue sheet. It was too funny, especially seeing how sly they thought they were.

But thanks Granny for letting us come over, play games with you, and sing "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam" over and over and over! Your the best and we love you!

Summer, Fall or Winter

Saturday all the kids got burned at their soccer games, but we went 3 - 0, so no one cared too much! Then we went up to my parent's cabin to see the COLORS and also watch General Conference with them. We saw the most beautiful trees and brush that you have ever seen, RED, YELLOW, GOLD, GREEN (you name it). It was well worth the trip. Conference was great too, and well needed!!!

On our way home we stopped at the Continental Divide and ran into a snow storm. The kids had fun playing around in it. I on the other hand was on edge wondering if we were going to get in another car accident. I tried to enjoy it, but was anxious to get down the mountain in one piece with James driving.

We had a great weekend and I loved it!!!

Good Times, Good Friends

This last week we were blessed to be visited by dear friends. Dave, Jamie, and McKenzie Pyatt, and Jake, Shauna, Skylar, Madison, and Ryland Stubblefield all came to visit us. It is such a great honor to have such great friend travel all that way to come and check-up on us.

We had a great visit. James and the kids were even lucky enough to follow them up to Mesa Verde in Colorado and help set up their campsite. They then went on to see a few Indian ruins. Our visitors camped out for a few days and then came back down to our house where we visited some more.

Thank you Pyatt and Stubblefield Families...you made my month and I am grateful to have such good friends like you. Your visit filled me with peace and happiness and I look forward to when we can visit again. WE LOVE YOU!!!!
