Happy Birthday Ethan

It's official, Ethan is 9 years old today. We have had a great day. Ethan went to school today with beautiful Halloween cupcakes for his classmates. After school was Ethan's favorite part, he came home and opened one of his presents and then went for his allergy shot.

Ethan then went to soccer practice, which he didn't think was very fun. Our little family then went to do another wave. This one wasn't as positive as the last one, but still it was a lot of fun.

We then went to Ethan's favorite restaurant.....he would eat here everyday if he could.

We finished the day with more birthday presents and a small family party. We ate his "new" favorite cake......Pumkin Spice Cake from............Nothing Bundt Cake.

It was a great day. We love our Ethan! Happy Birthday E Ticket!

One last thing.......Last night we went to our ward's Trunk or Treat Party. We had so much. It was great to see everyone in their Halloween Cosutmes. Happy Halloween everyone!

My Favorite Video!

Our Stake had a wave tonight at a busy intersection. There was about 75 people there, and it really was one of the most positive things I have done in a long time. There were some angry people, but for the most part we got way more positive then negative.

Expecting Cold Weather.....

I just went into Olivia's Room to find her asleep and expecting a snow storm. She is so funny, she cracks me up! I think she is getting excited for winter time, we have seen no signs of it and are bearing 95 + degree weather.

Prop 8 You have Been Tagged

VOTE YES on PROP 8!!!!

You've been tagged. PLEASE READ THIS no matter what state you live in.Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children. If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages.Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches. The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs. Including adoption agencies.A YES vote will not hurt gays.

In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits. For your information:On Friday, October 10th, 2008 a first-grade class took a field trip to witness a lesbian wedding in California.

Click Here for the article from the San Francisco Chronicle.A father in Massachusetts was frustrated when his kindergartner was taught about homosexuality at school by the teachers. He insisted he be notified in the future before such things were discussed so he could pull his boy out of school. He was taken to jail.

Click Here for the story.A Catholic adoption agency In the UK closed their doors because of the Government's new homosexual equality laws. The Equality Act forbids discrimination in the provision of goods and services on the basis of sexual orientation. The law was forced through Parliament last year despite past Prime Minister Tony Blair's recommendation that Catholic adoption agencies be exempted from the rules.

Click Here for more info.Earlier this month judges in Conneticut overturned the state law (just as the judges in California did) to legalized gay marriage. This is not just an issue in California. We voted years ago to keep traditional marriage as the only marriage recognized in the state of California, 4 judges overturned our vote…and we need to fight back. That is what this Proposition is about.

This is happening everywhere and the leaders of the church and others have warned that the outcome of California’s vote will affect the way the other states vote.

So PLEASE…even if you don’t live in California, put this on your blog or email this on. The internet knows no state line. You know contacts in California that I don’t…and so do your friends.

Please pass this on as it could eventually have an effect on everyone! "Occasionally discouragement may darken our pathway; frustration may be a constant companion. In our ears there may sound the sophistry of Satan as he whispers, "You cannot save the world; your small efforts are meaningless. You haven't time to be concerned for others." Trusting in the Lord, let us turn our heads from such falsehoods and make certain our feet are firmly planted in the path of service andour hearts and souls dedicated to follow the example of the Lord." --Thomas S. Monson

YOU'VE BEEN TAGGED...Here's what you do:In the broadcast we were asked to "go viral on our blogs, etc" by Elder Ballard. This is my way of going viral. If you feel this is an important issue I ask that you copy and paste this post...and post it on your blog. PLEASE keep it at the top of your blog through November 4th. which you can adjust each time you post under the "edit post" option. The internet knows NO STATE LINE. You know contacts in California that I do not...as do your friends and their friends...and so on. Please do this. If not for your own children and the effect it could have on them some day...for mine! After you have posted this...email this to your contacts and TAG all your blogging buddies to do the same. THANK YOU!

The Election Results are In.......

And the winner of Secretary at Jerabek Elementary for 2008-2009 is.................Elijah!!!! Yeah! He ran for an office last year but lost, and this year he was ready to try again. I can't believe he wanted to try, and I am afraid to admit that I tried a little bit to talk him out of it, but James told Elijah he can do anything he sets his mind to. Elijah had a little friend named Madison be his campaign manager and she and her family came up with a cute little moto.....OOOOO, AHHHH, Elijah! He used it on his speech and posters and it turned out to be quite catchy. Anyway, we are really proud of him. Great Job Lij!

It Happened Again

James and I went out to a church fireside tonight, he had to talk (by the way he did a great job) and when we came home our sign was stolen again! Can you believe it. I am almost nervous to put another one out. We had a friend come by and drop off 5 new signs yesterday so I have some to spare. James is out, as I type, hiding and trying to catch the culprit with a video camera.....Good luck! We will see what happens.

Prop. 8 Sign

My "Vote yes on Prop 8" signs were stolen from my front yard last night. As I was driving around, I realized that it wasn't just my sign, it was everyone in our neighborhood. How weird is that. I guess I am going to have to start taking my new sign, that my Father-in-law brought over, in every night. It just seems weird to me that even if you disagree with someone, that you are willing to steal. I don't get it!

A Date????

Okay, James and I decided that since we couldn't remember how long it had been since we went on a date that we should try to see what it was like again. James got a babysitter and we set out. I was in charge of picking the movie, he was in charge of dinner. Well we had about 20 minutes to eat before the movie started, so we were limited in where to go. James chose Panera because it was the closest to the theatre. I chose the movie, and I chose badly. I thought that since everything was so gloom and doom like we needed a good laugh. We didn't get it though. We went and saw An American Carol. It was at times funny, but surely we could have done better with our $23.00.

The date wasn't all that bad. It was great to just hang out with my husband and not have to compete for his attention. We went by and saw his parents for a little bit, and then went to check on our sick friend Dave. It was nice to visit with them all.

We will definitely try this dating thing again. If I remember correctly we did it well once a long time ago!

My FavoriteTime of the Year!

I got all the Halloween decorations down from the attic and surprised the kids when they got home from school with them all put out. Ethan was so excited he could hardly stand it. He kept saying welcome to my world! He feels like Halloween is all about him because his birthday is the day before.

I haven't had a lot of time to update my blog. Life seems to be so busy with little time to do anything. The kids have been busy with soccer, scouts, piano, and a new school year. They are all doing great in everything. Elijah just got a promotion on his Safety Patrol Squad. We are very proud of him. He also start choir this week, he has a very busy life. Ethan is now getting allergy shots twice a week and he is so awesome that he doesn't even flinch! Olivia is doing so good in soccer, her coach calls her the bulldog! She is fast and determined. Last week at her game she went in for the ball and skidded pretty far on her shoulder, she popped up crying a little bit and the coaches asked her if she wanted to take a break. She said no, she told them that her Dad tells her to never give up. Go Liv!

I love the holiday season, and I include Halloween in that. I love the Liquid Amber trees that change color, the only color that I see change here. I love to feel the cool air in the morning and then again at night. And I especially love all the pumkins and of course pumkin pie!
