PARENTHOOD

What a great blessing to be a mother to these wonderful children.  But, what a responsibility!  Lately, I'm really feeling a little overwhelmed and weighed down with the accountability and responsibility of being a good mom.   Appointments, piano lessons, behavior, respect, time, etc.

Every answer to all of my questions comes from one source.  But sometimes I get a little impatient for the answers.   Just enjoy those lovely children, toddlers and babies because it is in your power to fix all their problems right now.  As they get older, they have to solve their own problems and govern themselves.  Teach them well, while they will listen to everything you say.

My kids do well, it just feels overwhelming to me.  And I tend to worry too much.  I am so grateful for my wonderful children and their patience with me.

Beautiful Costa Rica

We had a great time on our trip to Costa Rica.  We flew into Liberia, a small airport with no enclosed walls and just ceiling fans for air conditioning.   The ceiling fan was bigger than a helicopter blade in one of the waiting rooms in the airport.

We enjoyed ziplining through the -"canopy"-  huge trees in the jungle.  They have the greatest trees in Costa Rica!

I think I need to learn Spanish if I ever go to Costa Rica again.    It was  beautiful, remote and had lovely wildlife.  We saw monkeys, a whales & herons, among others.  Luckily, we didn't see a snake, that may have ruined the whole trip!

Our Spring Break Trip to Mexico

I am sure you are assuming that a Spring Break trip in Mexico will involve the beach, leisurely sunbathing, swimming and eating.

Well, except for the beach, sunbathing and swimming, you are right on.  We will be eating authentic rice and beans (which we all like by the way) in fellow church members homes in Torreon, Mexico.

Our family is in a group of 28 others from their individual families who are going to Mexico to build a house for a family in that city during the day.  We will also be giving firesides and teaching workshops on anything from music to sewing to making jewelry with beads etc. at night.

We will be sleeping at the homes of the members, just think, we don't even speak Spanish, very well.

We have many hours of preparation before we leave.   This stake in Torreon is needful of white shirts & ties and dresses for all sizes.  We are collecting these items to take in our suitcases which we will be purchasing at the DI and leaving in Mexico.

If any of you can help us with these items, (just check your closets) then let me know.  We are so excited.
