last day

Saturday- we had to check out of our hotel at 11:00 AM.  Our plan didn't leave until 10:50 PM.  We had ALL day to do something. Wes got lucky and he golfed one more time.  This course was not as scenic as the 1st and was on a higher altitude so it was VERY windy.  Saturday was dreary, cloudy and cooler. We were sad to leave the island, we had a great week. I felt like we got to see and do a lot of things.  Really glad we went Pearl Harbor, that would be one thing I would want to go back to see!!

day 6

Friday morning we flew over to Oahu to see the Battleship Missouri Memorial and USS Arizona Memorial (Pearl Harbor).  We are SO glad we did. It was well worth the long day. We left Maui at 8:00 AM and got back to our hotel at 9:00 PM.  We did a guided tour that also took us through Punchbowl Cemetery, along with going to Waikiki (which seemed as busy as Chicago).  Garfield (bus tour guide) was VERY knowledgeable with his information.

 USS Arizona
part of the actual USS Arizona that is exposed. Oil is still surfacing from the leak.
this wall is the names of people that died
on the USS Missouri- on this spot is where the surrender was signed
looking back at the USS Missouri- cool with all the American Flags
after we toured both memorials we got back on the bus and did a tour of Honolulu.  This is a government building but this is shown in Hawaii five-0 show.
blurry picture- but this is Dog the Bounty Hunters office, that we drove by.
 We drove though Punchbowl cemetery

day 5

Thursday afternoon we did the Ka'anapail zipline. To be honest I was alittle nervous! There were 8 zips that we did. Our longest zip was 1250 feet. It was a BLAST!!  There was no need to worry. I never felt unsafe at all!!  The views were AMAZING as well!!!

Here I am sporting my fancy helmet!

day 4

Wednesday we went to the Maui Ocean Center. We both really enjoyed it.

I had to stand by this glass wall so you could tell how big it really is. There are daily shows in here. Would of been really cool to see.  There are 3 glass walls from the ceiling to the floor!
this is a tunnel that you walk through that fish swim over you....pretty cool as well!

Wednesday night we went to a Luau.  This is one of the things I was most looking forward to seeing while in Hawaii.  It met all my expectations!!  We were served supper here along with the show and boy can those girls shake their hips!!

this guy really got into the show. He did an awesome job!

day 3

Tuesday we messed around on the beach in the morning and then late afternoon we went on a sunset sail. It was a lot of fun, but the bummer part was we were back to the hotel right before it was getting dark, so it wasn't really a sunset sail. It was fun anyway. They had appetizers, beverages and live music.
they are decorated for x-mas in Maui, everyone was getting their pictures taken by this Christmas tree all week.  Hard for me to think of x-mas when you are in 80 degree weather!
