New Look

Mom came up Wednesday. She helped me decorate the kitchen. She made me a new valance for the kitchen. I got rid of all my chili pepper jars above the cupboards. We bought a "L" painted it black. The black iron floor register is from my g-grandparents house (pretty cool). Painted the vase green/cream. Bought curtains for the living room. I got a brown quilt for x-mas. We painted the bed/bathroom a blue/grey color. Marcia watched the girls on Thursday for me. She was a lifesaver. She also helped hang the curtain rod, towel bar and moved the shower curtain rod up. Thanks Marcia!! Mom sewed the valance, bedskirt, pillow shams. Bought a new hand towel hook, bath towel hook, new bathroom light, shower curtain. It looks AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

This also was my VERY first time painting! Yes, I know, crazy! I was dreading it to be honest, but had a good time painting with mom. I won't become a professional painter anytime soon. Mom was a lifesaver. She spring cleaned for me like I NEVER have in my life! Thanks mom!!

Friday Night

Brittany flew into Des Moines tonight for a college friends engagement party tomorrow. This is her 1st night away from Filson. Kayren and I picked her up from the airport. She looks great, a glowing pregnant mom. We gathered at Kayren's. Brittany was sweet enough to bring the kids new sunglasses and lip gloss (Porter got stickers instead of lip gloss). Porter was already in bed when we did the photo shoot. Steve & Nancy came up for the night. Mark, Ken and mom were there too. Dad had to work. A bunch of us took turns playing "the monster" and scaring the girls. Was a fun Friday night.

My Lefty

Haydn is going to be left-handed! Wes and I are both right-handed. My mom is left-handed. Both of my sisters are right-handed! To my knowledge Wes's brothers are right-handed. What makes a person left/right-handed?

Hannah's 1/2 Birthday

Today is Hannah's 1/2 b-day. She took strawberries, pretzels and chocolate milk for snack today. They also had their Valentine's Day party as well. Haydn and I got there early enough to see some games they played and snack time as well. Haydn bellied up for snack time as you can see.

Flying Kites

What a PERFECT day to fly a kite!! It is 58 degrees here! If it wasn't windy it would be a perfect spring like day. The girls attempted to fly their kites. Well more like I TRIED to attempt to get pictures of them. They played a little on the swingset. Fun to get outside and get some fresh air, even if it was windy!! We are ready for spring now!!

Blue Eyes

Captured some pictures of Haydn's eyes today. Hopefully the post will do them justice! She is also showing off her Wildcats tattoo.

First Haircut

Haydn got her first haircut today. When she was a baby mom evened up the sides to match the back of her hair. That has been it. She hates to get her hair combed. I really hated to cut her hair for she has BEAUTIFUL curls. I hope they come back. Hannah's didn't after her first hair cut.
Haydn didn't want to get her hair cut at all. She was crying before we left. She was crying for Hannah. So Hannah ended up coming with us. Cried most of the way there. Would not let me unbuckle her car seat straps. She would buckle them back up. Was still crying when we got into the salon. I ended up having to hold her while she got her hair cut. So I didn't get any before or during shots. I did get a few after the cut. She got about 3-4 inches cut off. Shorter than I expected but needed to be trimmed up. She got a "first haircut" certificate too along with some hair for her baby book.
