Trick-or-Treating

Tonight was trick or treating in Waukee (and I believe most of Des Moines). We headed into Marcia's first thing and then came back and walked our neighborhood. Wes took the girls this year, I got to stay here, hand out candy and listen to all the GOOD jokes HA! Hannah enjoyed handing out candy when she got back. I tried hard to get a good shot of Haydn but as you can tell after a few attempts I gave up!!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins tonight. Hannah LOVED taking the seeds out, which I thought Haydn would love the gory part. Haydn enjoyed playing with the seeds once they were out! Both girls enjoyed when we shut the lights out and lit the pumpkins.

Playing in the Leaves

Our neighbor has a tree that has lost most of its leaves, I thought the girls would have fun playing in them. Hannah had more fun throwing them up. Haydn just ran around in them.

Playing Barbies

Hannah is all geared up for HSM 3 (High School Musical 3) the movie came out today!! So today while Haydn is napping we have been playing barbies, but we can ONLY play with the HSM ones. Which she has 7 of them (see the one picture of them laid out)! BROTHER!! When I was a little girl I had a total of 2 the whole time I was growing up and Hannah has 19, yes, 19!! Plus 2 that are in the tub at all times, mermaid type ones!! Took a picture of all her barbies excluding HSM! We are going to the movie sometime the weekend. She will be in heaven! Honestly I am looking forward to seeing it also!!
Tonight we are going to a Halloween party at the church she goes to preschool at. She is looking SO forward to it, Abby (her best friend on our street) goes to church there and will be there! Tomorrow I am walking the Race for the Cure!! Hope it doesn't rain on us!! To top that all off, I woke up early this morning with Pink Eye!!

Fall in Iowa

Took some pictures of trees in our yard and our neighborhood. All the trees are really starting to change here in IA! Beautiful scenery!! One tree has lost most of its leaves already.

Exciting Friday Night

We had spaghetti for supper then I made cookies to eat tonight. After supper we looked at their new magazines they got in the mail today. Something to entertain us tonight with Wes already in IA City for the football game tomorrow! Before supper we went and rented Little Mermaid 3 ( I didn't even know there was a #3 movie). Hannah wanted a Barbie movie but I told her that it had to be something that Haydn and I wanted to watch. Personally I didn't want to watch a barbie movie!! We put on our PJ's early, spread out blankets to get ready for the movie. I was going to make popcorn but they both wanted pretzels instead! As you can see in the picture Haydn would rather do puzzles than watch the movie. I don't think she is old enough to follow movies yet, plus she doesn't know how to SIT STILL!!!

Tomorrow Hannah is invited to a neighbors b-day party in the afternoon, luckily it is while Haydn will be napping so I won't hear any crying of her being left out!

Exciting News for Haydn

Haydn has done extremely well with potty training the past three days. Today she has stayed dry from when she got up this morning, then I laid her down for nap and she was dry. She even pooped in the potty before her nap this afternoon. First time she has done this for me! So I think we are on our way to success!! Haydn and I even did some errands while Hannah was at preschool this morning and she stayed dry! I still remind her to go but she has gone a time or two on her own or with Hannah asking her to try! Haydn has gotten a lot of praise from Hannah and I over the past few days.

Hannah's New Trick

Hannah officially learned to ride her bike today without training wheels! We started last Wednesday night riding and each day she has gotten better with her balance! It was hard for me to get ahead of her to take a front view picture. It was a workout for me also. She still needs someone to start her and she stops by running into the grass and hopping off. All of this will get better with time! She is SO proud of herself. I am VERY proud of her!!

Side note- Haydn has peed in the potty three times today! YEAH!!

Pumpkin Patch

I took the girls to Wills Family Orchard west of Adel this morning. Was a lot of fun. They have a pumpkin patch that you can pick your very own pumpkin from the vine. Hay rack rides and a corn maze too. They sell apples from their orchard, so of course I bought an apple with carmel for us to eat. What a great treat. I will have to remember this for next year, take the girls and let them pick their very own pumpkin from the patch.

What a BEAUTIFUL day to be outside!!

It Was Possible

Haydn slept in her bed ALL NIGHT! Called for me around 7:00 this morning!!
Can she keep this up?
Will she take a nap this afternoon?

Possible??

Never in a million years would I of guessed Haydn would go down in her "big girl" bed without a fight! For the first time. Not one cry, no getting out of bed, or coming out of her room!!
Not physically possible with Haydn.
But it WAS!!
I TOTALLY underestimated her.

Haydn's New Room

Got Haydn's crib taken down tonight. Put the bed together. It is VERY cute. The only problem, the furniture is so big for the small room. She will not have ANY room to play or much floor space. So we might end up switching furniture with Hannah. Hannah's room is a little bigger. Haydn's mattress doesn't fit up close to the wall either and I think that might be a problem until she starts sleeping straight in her bed. For right now it will work. We will have to stuff blankets between the wall and mattress for tonight. It really does look cute!! We will see how tonight goes!!

I did take one last picture of her sleeping in her crib today for nap time!

Nice October Day

The girls and I played outside after lunch! Didn't realize we could probably be wearing shorts instead of long sleeves and jeans!! Hannah started working on riding her bike last night without training wheels. Did very well for the first attempt. She just needs to stay focused forward and not look around and she would have it. Did some more practicing today.
