Yet another week is coming to an end. How fast time goes past when you are getting yourself pre-occupied with work.

Had lunch yesterday with belinda at Cuisina Phillipinas. My first trip there prove to serve the many more trips to come. Food wasnt that bad, definitely more than what I had expected, ambience was great.

Afterwhich, we went around sourcing for a card. And I wanted to get a bag. Still contemplating whether I should. Then it was down to the supermarket for some quick snackies before heading to The Link for studying time.

Yes, test is coming up for me and assignments are up for her. Cant afford to slack off though I know I already am.

Oh, while surfing the web at night, my brother came online and I had the one of few opportunities to talk to him on behalf of my parents. How neat is that. Posing as them can be quite hard too anyway. However, everything comes with practice. I'm certain after a few more attempts, I'll pull it through successfully. There is not doubt about that.

Now for some randomness. The 25th of July marked the first time I have ever seen the male gamete under a microscope. Anatomy labs are extremely interesting indeed. We had to count the number of non-motile and motile ones, as well as add different chemicals to alter the degree of motility of them.

Imagine just a drop of fluid can have so much activities going on in it on a microscopic level. Truely, it is the wonder of God's creation.

First of all, congrats to Jas bestie and Edward on you-know-what. My longest known marathon-est friend! ~whee. Well actually not the longest, I've known Cherie since kindergarten (JCK days). Then comes Winnie and Siyan during the 'bully' bus-driver days.. heh.

Okay, side-tracked a little and now back to the main topic of the day.

Sitting in the front seat of a car only occurs on special occassions.
Without a doubt, it gives you the best view of everything, and doesnt make the driver feel like he/she is a driver. -you get the drift..

Looks like I wont be able to get my license in time before I return to SG. A promise in which I've failed to keep. Oh well. The driver's still there.

Recently, I've been watching lotsa travel shows on Lonely Planet and Globe Trekker. And I definitely have to go to the 7 Wonders of the World. Namely the Great Pyramid of Giza, Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal, Serengeti Migration, Galapagos, Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu. Anyone keen for a back-packing tour?

Till next time folks, Physiology test next week.. AHHHHHHHH, why on earth does phsl dept always arrange tests so early. Gosh! It's only the 3rd week of the new school term. Did I mention the topics? Cellular physiology and cellular communication, plus labs on osmosis and neural communication. Eewks!

Looks to me as though I'm stuck with that for the rest of my uni career.
*psst. Studying macroecons and aussie's business law isnt that bad afterall, Daniel.*

A futile attempt to re-live the days of being a wee kid in a BIG world.
Currently i'm being brought back primary school days where we used to sing 'Semonga Bahagia' every year, come October 1st. I remember how we used to sing it as a practice during music lessons, and the teacher would make sure that each of us actually sings. Of which, i'll always get lost half-way through the song.. and act as though i know the lyrics of the song. Well, after not hearing the song for so many years, I'm glad it is one the songs for NDP this year.

Ever notice how you remember fine little comments or details about some people and yet others, you just completely forget the major significant details?
And also, freaky how some people remember minor details about what you said, whether you've got yourself a new pair of shoes etc.

Was having a minor bickering session with chipmunk couple of days ago about youth's favourite past-time. He mentioned some things that really shocked me inside-out. It had never crossed me that he would remember such details. Apparently he thinks i've got a high ego too! Do you think so too? Of cos, i do not feel that way. Afterall, which egoistic person will think they are being egoistic, right.

I'll end off here. Rachel thinks its time for some reflection.

It's exactly one week since i last blogged. Been rather inconsistent eh..
Into the 2nd week of term and i am beginning to feel the toll of monday blues.
Workload is piling up as well. Sigh.. But, we always look on the bright side of life dont we! 3.5 months left before rache's back again.

Hmm yesterday was simply hilarious! Chipmunk's jealous yet shocked at the same time. I can just picture the look on Chipmunk's face. I should have just saved that conversation earlier, but when I thought of that, was too late for I had already closed that window. Aww, that really is such a waste.

Had a nice not-so-long chat with a friend from aussie. He arrived in aussie for studies a week ago and is experiencing (i would say) a massive blow of culture shock. Although by right, melb should be much better than good o' dunners, his campus is apparently in the suburbs. A three-hour train ride to the heart of the city.

And for those who takes thinks otago's internet connection is slow-going, of which i myself is guilty of that. We should be grateful that our trusty central lib is open till late and we've got the additional goodness of 24hrs computer labs all around campus. Gosh, apparently their library is only opened till 5pm. I dont suppose they would have com labs all around. Let's just hope he adjusts quickly to their way of life.

Aside from that, I'm currently recovering from a sore-throat and a bout of flu. The flu bug has finally caught up with me after not getting it for quite some time. And not to forget the extremely hilarious incident yesterday!

Romantically inclined type? heh.

School started this week. After sleeping in for the past three weeks, getting up early is pretty hard. Yeaps and i've got all 9am starts.. I cannot imagine if it was an 8am start.

Work is starting to pile up. Lecture notes are thickening as the days go by. Kinda feels that i'm beginning to spend lesser time in uni now. At most, i'm just here for three hours a day. Sometimes, just one.

Anyway my life is back to the normal studying regime. Nothing much going on either.

chao till the day i've got something exciting going on. Gotta run for lecture on the other side of town.

I've got a brother who scores straight As and can easily make it as a school dux. Now, what do I do? I'll just have to work doubly or triply hard to make up for the loss of academic ability.

Why cant there just be an occupation such as 'professional mahjong player' or 'a specialist in some card game, say bridge'!

Funny how parents always tell their kids that: if you dont study hard, you'll end up being a rubbish collector. Currently, it is with my understand that some formal training is required in order to be considered for the job. So why then is not studying hard associated with rubbish collecting. Why do people perceive it as such an unglam job. I forsee in the near future, being a rubbish collector may even require a diploma or degree. Then, perhaps society's perception will start to change.

Afterall, a good education doesnt determine that you'll have a good, stable job. Nor does a good education determine whether you lead a happy and blissful life. Of course, a good education also does not equate success.

How i wish, with the snap of the finger...i could change everything!

[Follow my pendulum] you are feeling sleepy
[Eyes following] very sleepy indeed!
[Still following] are u asleep yet?
*------Rache knocks you out-------*

gosh! how lame can i get.. cant believe i just typed that out. hehe.

The start of the second semester of my second year at varsity.

I guess counted down to the end of the first semester and now, the second one is starting yet again. Anyway the good thing about this is that i'll be able to get back to sg very very soon.

Cannot wait for that time to come. And this time, i sure am never ever gonna spend v'day on the flight again. It's just such a waste of a very special day. I thank God i still had a blast with four guys and a girl.

Now's about the right time to start looking at flight rates and that is just what i have been doing. The details of my decision shall be known at a later date.

My sec4 kakis are on their trip to KL. Hmpf! its their 2nd trip together (1st one was to Genting Highlands).. I wanna go too! I'm 100% certain it will be so fun travelling with friends. A step higher compared to the school camps and overseas trips. This time, its without schedules, without teachers, just for pure fun! Sigh, hope i make it for the 3rd trip in future.

Alritey! I need to switch my mind back to the schooling mood.

Dont you find, that when pessimistic stuff comes, they all come together!

Have been looking through my future companies' websites the past few hours to get a feel of what they core areas are. Cell and molecular biology came up as the most important one followed by biochemistry then genetics.

Infection and immunity then comes into play. The minimum qualification is a 2nd upper class honours. Even so, I may just be there washing test-tubes I have heard how people graduating with a PhD also got rejected by one of the companies that i was looking at.

Which points me to the importance of qualifications. If someone with PhD cant even get a job as some junior research personnel, what is someone who just has a normal degree compared.

Instead of changing major and prolonging everything by a year, i think i would rather continue with what i start out with and supplement it with some additional papers which may be helpful for my future career.

Truely, "Education is a life-long process."

This road is still a long and winding one for me. Obstacles are merely stepping stones and more importantly, success comes to those who dont give up! Amen!

[juan]: I got that pic from the fairfield website. was looking through the pics from yesteryears, until i came across a very familiar looking pair of shoes. Instantly, i knew they were yours. Isnt that such a nice pic? If i'm not wrong, that was taken during combined UG day. the very first and the very last.
