Small preschool this week

The stomach flu hit our preschool pretty hard this week, half the kids were home ill. THANKFULLY, our family passed on that particular bug. So Hallie decided she would fill the gap. She was so excited to do all the things the big boys were doing.

What a mess!!!

Whenever it's quiet in our house, you know one thing- little lady is into TROUBLE! It was one of those mornings I was running around trying to get the kids out the door for school when no one had seen Hallie for a few minutes. I knew she must be in the bathroom- because it is her favorite place to explore unattended- when sure enough she had found her way to the boys' "tub-o-gel" they use to fix their hair. It's hard to see in this picture- but Hallie is COVERED in hair gel! Hair, hands, clothes, the counter. All over. And so proud of herself.

pictures for daddy

We missed Warren when he went on a rainy campout with the Young Men in our ward last weekend. So the kids painted and colored pictures for him and cleaned up the house.

This girl thinks EVERYTHING with a cap is lipstick.
Lukey really getting to work scrubbing the table.
I've never had such shiny window latches. Luke thought that was a very important thing to shine up. :) That kid loves using Windex. ;)

Field trip to the firehouse

Jakey had a BLAST!!!! at the firehouse field trip. He's talked about it everyday since. He's decided besides being a pilot, he also wants to be a fire fighter now. So the job he is setting his sights to is being one of those fire fighters that flies the helicopters that dumps all that stuff on the forest fires. And he REALLY wants one of those masks. :) He's also been wearing his hat all over town.

J got to drive the fire truck- my camera is way too slow!!

Be Clean - FHE

We tried this neat soap experiment I've seen on pinterest where you put the ivory soap in the microwave and then it grows into a huge fluffy ball. Well, it didn't work very well for us. It grew just a tiny bit and then started to burn on the bottom. Oh, well so much for that repentance lesson! :) The kids still seemed to have fun and Luke gave a great lesson on Jonah and the Whale to go with it. We used my friend's idea and had the whale (Warren with a huge blanket) swallow Jonah (the kids) until they said they were sorry and wanted to "repent" so they could be "spit out" of the whale. Then all of a sudden we had 3 whales going and every one had crazy bed head. To top it off we had carrot cake for dessert- so that made the world a happy place- especially for Luke. ;)

Dallas Temple

Our Primary took a temple trip to the Dallas temple. The kids sang some songs to the temple matron, and she gave them a nice history of the Dallas temple. My camera battery died, or I would have taken some more pics!

Elephant Bowling

I thought this Pack Meeting game was hilarious! It's called "Elephant Bowling." They get nylons and stick a tennis ball through it, then stretch it over the kids' heads. With their new "elephant trunk," they see who can knock over the water bottles in the fastest time without using anything but their "trunk." Everyone had a different method/manuever- it was really funny.
