Saturday Champ

Saturday was a killer. Packed with activities and games. Hallie was deprived of her naps and regular routine. Warren and I were exhausted- I am so impressed she made it. She went to bed at 6:30pm that night and didn't get up for the day until 9:30am (with only one feeding waking)!!! That is a girl after my own heart.

Cassidy

Cassidy is currently at her overnight 5th grade camp. It's about 45 minutes away and she will be gone for 3 days! I am already missing her help. She is so excited. She probably really needs the break! I'm sure she will have a blast.
Her soccer team won their game Saturday! YAY! Go Superstars! She's also been doing great at the piano and is about to begin level 2. She's started babysitting for me and one of my friends a little bit and is very happy to be getting some income.

Luke

Luke is a star on his soccer team! He had his first game of the season on Saturday. There was one point in the game where he was at the opposing teams side of the field when he spotted the ball. He took a big leap over a kid that had fallen to the ground, ran up to the ball and took it all the way down the field for a goal! We were so excited!! We're so used to watching our kids sit in the field and pick dandelions, it was thrilling to watch him be so serious! He stayed with the ball the whole game and declared when he was done, "I'm the 2nd fastest on my team!" Kindergarten is going great. He really enjoys going to school all day. He's growing like a weed. He finally caught Cade on the scale- weighing in 1 lb more than his older brother.

Cade

Cade is the nose guard there- kneeling right by the ball. He certainly is busy getting squashed in football this year. And the poor kid has to play out there when it's 107 degrees. I couldn't take it if I were him! Those boys are so tough. Maybe that's why Texas football teams are so good- it's all about their conditioning! I think his coaches are a little nuts, but they seem to know what they are doing- and they really do want the boys to succeed.
School is going well this year. His favorite activity right now is playing with his brothers and friends after school outside on their bikes or with these things called "bey blades" that are just ridiculously over priced spinning tops. He's doing well with his piano and is almost out of the primer level.

eating lunch at the school

The kids love it when we come eat lunch with them at school. We went to see Luke on Monday, but I forgot my camera. He was the most excited of all the kids. He was beaming the whole lunch. It was so cute!! I'm so glad they aren't embarrassed of me yet. I know the time will be here before I know it.

Jakey

Jakey has been potty training and enjoying having me nearly to himself- since Hallie sleeps so much (bless her!!)- while all the other kids are at school. We "play school" most days. He goes around the house with his empty backpack and we read books, feed the class pet (yoda), color and have "recess" at the park or pool. He LOVES going to the kids soccer practices and games and kicking the ball around. He also learned to ride a bike (not a trike) with training wheels last week- and can't get enough of it. He doesn't even care that it's pink! I love this kid! If only we could figure out how to shut off the potty mouth.....

Hallie

Hallie has just reached 6 months! Such a little lady these days. She loves to watch what everybody is doing. Especially Cassidy and YODA. When Cassidy gets home from school she lights right up and gets upset if Cass walks out of the room before greeting her. She can't get enough of Yoda. We have heard her best laughs when he is running around slapping her in the face with his tail. He's in trouble when she is fast enough to catch him. She sits all by herself now- which is lovely! She really gets a good view in this position. She just started solids. Her favorite foods are oatmeal, green beans and applesauce. She sleeps 12+ hours a night plus 2 naps during the day. She is a dream come true!!

goatee gone

Luke says, "Why did you shave your goatee, Daddy?"
Cade says, "Because he wanted to look younger! You look like you're in your 20's now, Dad!"

more tender mercies

I was just about to leave for the store this morning, when there was a knock on the door. I open it up and there is my friend with a huge box full of groceries! She and a few others had pitched in to help us out. I am overwhelmed by the love and the timing. Truly the Lord has His hand in our lives! Thank you so much ladies! You truly are angels!

marriage- our boys favorite topic:

In the bath a couple nights ago, I hear Luke telling Jake,
"We need to get married to a girl tomorrow. Hurry, we need to make our arm pits shiny!"

learning early

Hallie is learning early to appreciate the convenience of modern technology. Warren has a thing on his phone where there are farm animals that jump around and make sounds. Most of the time Hallie enjoys watching Jake and Luke play with it more than the actualy farm game.

Funnel Fun

Jake's new obsession. The funnel.

A new best friend

I think Yoda may be Hallie's motivation to start crawling. She adores him! Everytime he walks out of her sights, she starts fussing until he's back in view. I'm sure she's looking forward to the day she will be able to grab that tail!

To celebrate Jakey's birthday, we took the family to Cabela's! He loves to look at the dead stuffed animals and the fish.
