Some forgotten snow pictures

The BYU fan snowman

Cade, sadly watching from in the house
Our view from the window Warren brought a mini snowman in for Cade and Jake so they could play with some snow, too.
I appreciated the bucket it was in
Jake ready all day with his boots on. Begging to go out and play in the snow.
For some reason these pictures didn't upload properly to my computer, so I didn't have a chance to blog them before. This is the snowman Warren built with Cassidy and Luke when we had our big storm. Cade and Jake were sad to have to stay in the house, but the 3 of us were way too sick and fevered to go outside in the cold weather. It was still standing when we left for Missouri, but by the time we got home all that was left were the accessories piled in a heap on the ground.

While we're not sleeping

This is what we are up to....
Luke informed me this morning he and Jake were leaving on a trip. They were going to Route 66. Loaded up with backpacks and other important accessories- such as a mini light saber- to ward off bad guys along the way. They were so cute. Then they moved on to playdough for an hour or two, making playdough icecream, snakes, etc. Little boys are so much fun.

Happy Birthday, Dear Warren...

We celebrated Warren's birthday today! For his cake we got 1/2 peanutbutter cup chocolate cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. (Thanks for the gift cert, Shells and Alan!) We originally were going to sit down and eat at the restaurant. But as the evening went on, and it was getting late, we had to get the cheesecake To Go. We rushed home with it. After we finished, we started to watch "Despicable Me." We only watched half of it so far, but the kids loved it! I am so grateful for Warren. I am so glad he was born! I am so blessed to have him in my life.

wiped

People have been telling me pregnancy is different when you're over 30. Boy, can I agree with that! I am so tired! I feel like I have chronic fatigue syndrome or something. I'm so tired, it hurts. I get up, get the kids off to school, take a shower and then have naptime! Then I make lunch for the kids and take ANOTHER nap with them! Needless to say, my little boys have been getting a large dose of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse lately. Luckily, Jake loves nothing better than watching TV stroking my hair. I asked my doc about it- he says it's probably just a last trimester thing since all my blood work has come back fine. So... here's to sleeping the day away! Two more months worth.

Ella's Baby Blessing

Baby blessings are such a special time. Ella looked so beautiful in her little white dress! We feel so priviledged to be able to have made it up for the occasion. It was really great for our kids to be around family. It also was an eye opening experience for them to witness first hand what it is like to have a baby around. I think they had all forgotten what it is like to have a baby in the house that just eats, sleeps, poops and burps. It was a great preview for March. I'm so excited that Ella and our little girl will only be 4 months apart. It's so fun when kids have cousins their own age!

Birthday Celebrations!

We were very lucky that Warren's parents were visiting Shelley as well. It was really fun to spend some time with them. We hadn't seen them since June, so it was a real treat. Chuck, Marlean and Warren all have birthdays in the same week, so Shelley got a cake together for all of them. It was fun celebrating all together like the good ol' days in California. Thanks, Shelley!

Loving Uncle Alan

Cade loves his Uncle Alan. When we had to leave Alan, Shelley, Grandpa and Grandma Hess, he and Cass cried all the way to the hotel. Then Cade continued to cry for 10 minutes in bed. Here Cade had curled up next to Alan to watch TV, and next thing we knew he was out for the count.

We meet Baby Ella

We almost didn't make it up to Missouri to see Ella. Luke was hit hard with the illness the other kids had and was struck with a 104.6 temp! We had to delay our departure a bit to make sure he could keep his fever down, but we eventually made it. Ella is the sweetest little thing. The kids LOVED holding her and smiling at her. She was probably pretty overwhelmed by all the attention, but I think she was a little intrigued at the same time. Thanks, Shells and Alan for letting us come! We always have wonderful food when we come to see you. You are such great parents! It was so fun to see you in action. We had a wonderful time!

Delayed Start

We were amazed to wake up this morning to still see snow on the ground. Snow never lasts for more than a day where we live. The kids even had delayed start for school this morning. Cade is still sick, so he Jake and I are pajammin' it up watching TV today. Luke and Cass had a ball running around before school this morning.

Beautiful snow

I always think the neighborhood looks so beautiful blanketed in snow. Like a neighborhood out of a Christmas movie or something. We thought we were just going to get a dusting, we ended up with about 4 inches! I love it.

Warming up after the snow

Star Wars pancakes. Warren also made snowmen and Mickey Mouse! He's way more fun than I am!

We got some good use out of those Christmas robes. Jake, not in the mood for the photo shoot.
Warren had chicken noodle soup ready for us when I got the kids all out of the bath. He's been so great. He also made us pancakes for dinner, and spoiled me with postum and herb tea througout the evening.
