On the 9th Cathy invited us out to her cabin at Lake Nahwatzel. We had a blast. She had all sorts of things to do. Israel and Nyah went canoeing with me. Nyah helped me row. She didn't want to go back to shore. Mom's arms were getting a little tired though.
Israel was the first to catch a fish. Not sure what kind it was but he was excited. Cathy even let him keep the rooster hook he caught it with since it was his first catch ever. He was a happy boy.
Wyatt caught himself a fish too. Not sure what kind of fish he and Irael caught be they were really pretty. Tealani caught one but she wouldn't take a picture because it had come off the hook and there was no way she was grabbing the slimy thing. It was the biggest fish caught that day. It was a small bass- but no picture so it will always be "the one that got away".
Nyah on the surfboard paddling out to the dock.
Cathy had gone surfing in Huntington Beach, CA a couple years ago and bought a surf board. She brought it out for the kids and it was the biggest hit. They all got to try it and all of them got up, even Nyah (I didn't get any pictures becasue I was spotting her-she refused to wear a life jacket on the board). They would push themselves out, turn around and get going as fast as they could and then stand up. It's not exactly the ocean but at least they're learning to keep their balance. Now Wyatt wants a surfboard and really wants to learn how to surf.
He even looks like a surfer!!

Several of our friends own cabins out at Lake Nahwatzel which is about 20 minutes from Shelton. This particular Sunday we had dinner at the Holden's and he brought out his fishing poles for the gang to learn to fish. Unfortunately nothing was caught that day. What a bummer, but it was a beautiful day to be out at the lake.
For the 4th of July weekend John and I took a vacation alone and went to Keola's 20th year reunion. A lot of my friends were in that class so I decided to crash it with a little coaxing from a couple of my friends and my sister-in-law Valerie. I have to say that it didn't take much coaxing though. We had a little seminary reunion Saturday the fifth and this was one of the only pictures that I took that entire weekend. IT was a fun weekend.
