Holiday Mayhem

Although I am a bit behind, its not too late to share from my last update.

Brett's Birthday, Sept. 28 - For Brett's birthday we just did all the regular birthday stuff. I made him a dinner of his choice. He picked out what kind of cake and ice cream that he wanted and we rented a movie of his choice. We also of course, did the customary opening of gifts as well. He enjoyed his birthday here and got several things that he wanted and a few that he wasn't expecting. That weekend we also headed north to visit our families who in their turn celebrated with us Brett's birthday. It was a very fun and enjoyable time.

Halloween, Oct. 31 - Halloween this year was a little more eventful than last year. I didn't have to work and so was able to be home answering the door with Brett. We bought two large bags of tootsie rolls to hand out and probably ended up only handing out about a quarter of one of the bags. We had tootsie rolls everywhere for a couple of weeks after. We watched a movie or two that night between answering the door and had to keep tabs on our cats so that they didn't keep stealing the tootsie rolls to play with. They apparently liked the sound the wrapper would make and so would pull them out of the bowl, drop them and the table or floor and push them around till they got bored and had to grab a different one. Very cute but it made a mess.

1st Anniversary, Nov. 13 - this year for our anniversary we mostly just stayed home watching movies and playing games, while remembering our first year together. We also went up to salt lake area to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner one night that weekend. It was very enjoyable and strange to think that we have been married for a year already. We are looking forward to many many more.

Thanksgiving, Nov. 24 - For this holiday we spent the time with Brett's family for dinner and games up at his grandma's house, or as it happened this year, in the church near her house. The church and the area surrounding it this year was very cold although there was no snow. We also took some family pictures on this day and were able to play games with the family. Later that same day we went and talked with Lynette, Marissa, Paul and family and played a game late into the night that got us all very hyper and very tired. But it was all fun and we enjoyed ourselves.

Christmas, Dec. 25 - Christmas morning we spent at our home then headed over to my parents home to visit for awhile so we could be there when my brother called from his mission. After speaking to my brother we left for Brett's parents house where we stayed to visit and open presents. Later we went and visited with family at Grandma Parkers home. It was a good holiday and we had lots of fun.

Between Christmas and New Years we went with my family up to the Heber Valley Camp Ground to spend a night and have fun sleding and playing games with family. We ended up staying up late with Paul and Marissa and my mom playing a game like clue, except it was on a train. It was fun. We also did lots of sleding the day we got there and the day after. We left before most of my siblings however as we had some other things to attend to that day. But we enjoyed it and look forward to the continued tradition.

New Years, Jan. 1 - We went to a party at Brett's sister Jessica's house where we spent the night talking and playing games with family and eating some junk food. It was a good holiday and we had fun.

Valentines Day, Feb. 14 - On this holiday, Brett had to work and I had school. I happened to get home first but when Brett got home he surprised me with a pretty pink rose. We had a nice dinner together and rented a movie to watch. I had to put my flower on top the fridge where my cats can't eat it as lately they have taken a fancy to green food, including lettuce and apparently flowers too. In any case they are beautiful, and it was a wonderful holiday.
