20 Weeks
On Friday October 12th we had an ultrasound for me being at 20 weeks which is halfway through the pregnancy. In this ultra sound they looked at our baby and me and took a bunch of measurements to see how our baby was growing and make sure all was well.
As it turns out our baby was a little ahead of schedule on size and the doctor said based on the size of everything my due date should be March 3rd. They originally told me March 5th, but only time will tell as to when our baby will be born.
We also of course found out the gender of our baby and we happily surprised and excited to find out that it is a girl. As it turns out she is quite the little wiggler. She kept trying to turn over and to suck on her thumb. Every time the doctor moved to look at her head or arms she would move so that we have a very good view and could see everything that was needed. Turns out she liked having her picture taken, but didn't like getting poked and prodded to move around.
The doctor said that she is probably about 6-7in long and that doesn't include her legs at this point. So I think we are in for a long baby but she will be beautiful. We were also able to get a couple good shots of her hands and feet which are cute.
I am looking forward to meeting our little girl.

Brett's Birthday
On September 28th was Brett's birthday. We spent some time with family that morning as we attended the funeral for his grandmother and then afterward we spent some time with my family and had dinner with his parents and headed home that night. Once we were home I let Brett open the gifts that I had gotten for him. We decided to do most of the celebrating on saturday as friday was very busy and he didn't feel like it was a day for him because of the funeral.
On saturday the 29th we spent the day mostly with each other and for a bit with his brother Ethan and Brother-in-law Ben. We went mini-golfing and out for dinner and then when we came home we had cheesecake and had Brett blow out his candles. He enjoyed it overall and we are both looking forward to another year of his life. :)

Home Improvement
We decided that it was time to finish painting our room so we went and found some paint that we liked and got to work.
First Ultrasound
Ethan's Wedding
On June 29th we attended the wedding of Brett's brother Ethan. He was married in the Oquirrah Mountain temple to Jocelyn for time and all eternity. It was a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day outside afterward for pictures. We enjoyed being able to share the special day with them.
Daddy Daugher Trip
June 14-16 we had our yearly Father/daughter get together. This year we decided to go to the tetons and Yellowstone. We stayed in what was called a tent-cabin. So basically it was two walls of cabin and two walls of a tent. It was pretty nice and we had fun even if it was a little crowded with all of us in there. The cabin only provides four cots so we had two on the floor as well so not much floor space but it kept us all nice and toasty.
The first day we just kinda set up camp and walked around a bit in a couple areas. The next day we went to Yellowstone where we spent the majority of the day walking around and looking at all the gysers and hot lakes and such. We saw lots of animals including bison, a coyote, grizzly bears, ravens, and moose. We also got to see some of the hot pots and such that I had never seen before. It was a nice well spent day.
The last day we were there we took a ferry across Lake Jenny and then did a hike up to inspiration point. It took longer than we were planning but it was a nice hike and the view was very pretty. We then took the ferry back across the lake and headed home after lunch. We also drove through Jackson and were looking at a few of the sites there. One thing I saw was an arch made of deer antlers that was pretty cool.
It was nice to be able to spend the time with all my sisters and sister-in-law and dad. We don't often get to spend a lot of time with one another and this is something we look forward to every year.

Hole Patching
So I realized that I haven't shown any pictures of our holes that we have patched. So here are a few updated photos of the inside.
The Outside and In
All the changes are starting to blurr together into one huge never ending project, but every now and again I get reaquainted with how much we have done by the reaction of others. So as a way to continue to have the incentive to keep going and so that everyone can feel like they know what is going on I shall continue to update everyone.
This last weekend we finally got our contractor over to help us work on the last couple of things that needed doing. He and Brett spent the majority of the day working the the projects outside that up to that point we really hadn't touched much.
During this long work day the two managed to pull the swamp cooler off the roof and patch the hole that it came out of as well as any others that were up there. They then fixed our front porch railing by addin
g more cement to the corners that were otherwise non existant and made sure that the railing was securely fastened.
They also pulled down the plywood that was covering some random holes
near our french doors and covered them so you can't see them as much, and fixed the spot below the window to be something besides just plywood.
All this was good and very large changes, however, probably the biggest and most noticable change is that of the deck.
When we moved in the deck was only partly painted as it was all chiping off and the railings looked like a post with bird feet attaching it to the other post, and only some of it was covered with
lattice, which made the whole thing quite dangerous. Brett had pulling this railing down the week before and sadly enough the thing felt safer with no railing at all. This weekend though the contractor and Brett worked on putting in a whole new railing which is beautiful and very sturdy. It was nice to get so much done in so little time.
The next two to three days brett and I spent priming and painting the new deck, the
carport posts and a couple other random exposed wood outside. So now it is all done outside and look beautiful!
Next I believe we will finish off the inside with the final touches on sheetrock in the kitchen and other places in the house, some more painting, and our pillars that separate the living room and kitchen. It will be nice to have everything done and looking decent.
