Happy Thanksgiving!

This week was so relaxing and just a little bit hectic. I never knew the holidays could wear you out so much. After going from here to there and back and forth, we were all worn out. However, I did get in a lot of mommy time and I enjoyed every minute of it. Most of the week we spent hanging out in our pajamas and getting the house ready for Christmas. Thanksgiving we headed to my grandmothers and then to Brownsville that night to Mrs. Nancy’s parents. MP slept all the way there and back and then most of the night. I guess she was worn out too! Our first Thanksgiving as a family was busy, but we all ate way too much and had a fabulous time with our families. Friday we went to eat at Marlo’s and shopping on the square with Mrs. Nancy and Kerry Ann. It was 70 degrees outside and a perfect day for a stroll on the square. That night Anna and I had a date planned to take Palmer to see Christmas City. After driving all the way out there we discovered that it wasn’t even open yet. So we will be going back very soon. Saturday MP spent the afternoon with her Boogie while Tanner and I went to get our Christmas tree and watch the Egg Bowl. I can’t believe we didn’t make it to Starkville, but maybe next year. At least State pulled off another win.

Sunday we were lazy again and I attempted to light my Christmas tree. Twenty-six hundred lights, 3 extension cords, and 3 trips for more lights later, my tree it lit and decorated. I still have to finish the top but I have to wait on a ladder. Of course I picked out the biggest tree they had and blew the lights about 4 times before I got it working, but it is absolutely stunning. MP loves to look at all the lights. She will sit and stare at it for a good while. She is getting so big and the time is passing by so fast. I figure this is my last year to decorate the whole house because next year she will be 15 months and into everything I imagine.  We have been picking out all kinds of goodies for her for Christmas even though I know she will have no clue whats going on. Tanner has already insisted that we set it all out from Santa. : )
Today I got up and got ready like any other day. Tanner headed hunting while I was getting ready and Lynn came early to help with MP. At around 9:15 I noticed Kerry Ann had been calling me several times. I figured it was no big deal and kept teaching. I finally answered and she told me Tanner had been in a wreck and his head hit the windshield. She told me he was going to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully I had an assistant at the time and was able to just walk out. I beat the ambulance to the hospital. Turns out some girl ran a red light and they hit head on. Tanner’s truck is really messed up and the girls Trailblazer is totaled. After sitting around waiting to see him at the ER we learned that he was fine and up walking around.  He hit his head really hard but he is perfectly fine. WHEW!! The entire drive to the hospital I felt sick. The thought of anything ever happening to Tanner never crosses my mind because to me he is invincible. I am counting my blessings even more than usual tonight that Tanner is okay.

Enjoying Our Break

I never knew I could cherish my breaks so much. All teachers usually mentally and physically need this break to be able to handle the month of December, but now I know that mommys need it even more. With this crazy schedule, I have been missing my sweet girl more than anything. I am so fortunate to have lots of breaks and the whole summer off to spend with her. We have been doing lots of playing and snuggling. I can't get enough of her. Sunday we had Thanksgiving at Ken's and dinner with all the Wakefield's @ Karls. We are so blessed to have such a big happy family. Growing up my family was so small and getting us all together was always an ordeal, so I have fallen in love with how close everyone is in both sides of Tanner's family. Every get together is fun and everyone is so excited to see each other and there is NO drama. They are all so genuine and caring and Palmer and I are pretty much the luckiest girls ever to be Wakefields.  So this year I am most thankful for Molly Palmer, but also thankful for Karl and Lynn. They raised a man to be everything I could ever ask for and more sometimes. : ) He is thoughtful like his daddy, but has just enough of that Bradshaw blood to argue with a fence post and keep us all laughing. I can already tell that MP has her mommy's bad attitude, so I am praying that her daddy's genes will calm her little booty down!
All of the Christmas decor is down but still not put out. I got Tanner's tree and Palmer's tree up and I am hoping to go get our big tree very SOON! (as soon as I can talk Tanner into it) I love decorating for Christmas, but it is a whole new ballgame with a 3 month old. Next year she will probably tear my tree down so I might as well enjoy it all this year. She loves to look at the lights! We already have a date to Christmas City Friday night. I'm sure she will sleep right through it. We had a little photo shoot yesterday for our Christmas Cards. Thank goodness Anna Laura was here to help. She made her smile while I snapped what seems like 100 pictures. Tonight we are joining the usual crew at the McGowan's to make turkey cookies and I think MP is pretty excited!

MP's beautiful tree. The topper is made of all the ribbons from my
baby showers. I was so excited to get to use it again.

As soon as she realized she was wearing a tutu it was time to play.

Chillin in her pajamas.

At 3 Months MP is:
Rolling over
Talking/ cooing all the time
Still smiling nonstop
She can put her own passy back in... When she wants to
Wearing 3-6 month clothes
Sleeping from 8-5:30, but still waking up around 3 for your passy
Loves watching tv
Loves Christmas lights
Trying her best to sit up, but not quite ready

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
Love

 Big Girl
Really holding her head up now

Looking just like her daddy

Watching Tom & Jerry
Yummy Yummy Yummy

Well we finally made it to Thanksgiving Break. I have been counting down the days since I went back to work and it feels like it has been months. My big girl turned 13 weeks and 3 months this week. I can't believe how fast the time is passing. This week I had 2 days of professional development, painting class, and a basketball game and to top it all off I woke up with a sore throat on Thursday. I figured it was nothing and I would be better by the weekend... WRONG! After school Friday I was feeling horrible, but I managed to sort can goods and pack Thanksgiving baskets for JA. I am very sad that I didn't get to deliver this year, but at least I got to contribute. Delivering Thanksgiving and Christmas to our community is the reason I am a part of JA. I love to see the look on these mother's faces when they realize they can prepare a meal for their family or have presents for their children to open Christmas morning. I definitely will NOT miss delivering Christmas presents. Okay.. back to Friday. After I left JA, I barely made it home I was shivering and sweating like crazy. I ended up running a 102 fever, coughing, and aching all over all weekend. Tanner took great care of my sweet girl. I am so thankful that Tanner wasn't working and that he doesn't mind taking care of her 24/7. However, by Sunday Daddy was ready for a much needed break. We let him sleep in and we watched Rudolph at 5am this morning. Thank goodness I am starting to feel better today. We got all the Christmas decor down and I had all my garland put up, two trees fluffed and ready to decorate, and sorted through most of my stuff by 9:30 this morning. I am already feeling a nap very soon. More to come later.

12 Weeks

I feel like I am finally getting the hang of this working mommy thing. Between the three of us, (Anna, Lynn and I) MP is very well taken care of and even on somewhat of a schedule. I honestly could not do any of this on my own and I am a very lucky girl to have such good help. Tanner is finally finished getting his crop out and we are both super excited to have him home. However, he has already reminded me that it is hunting season and he will be hunting everyday.
Last Sunday after talking to a friend about MP not sleeping, I decided to start feeding her cereal at night. I know that she is just now almost 3 months, but this momma was worn out after getting up 2-3 times a night. I even started mixing in a tiny teaspoon of bananas for flavor. We are still learning how to eat from a spoon, but she does a great job of sucking the spoon clean. This week we are going to try sweet potatoes. Yummy! Since we started cereal she has been sleeping all night long! She is holding her head up better everyday and sucking on her fist all the time. For the last couple of weeks she has been grinning from ear to ear at everyone.. esp her daddy. She is loving her cartoon time every morning and has two new favorites: Popeye and Tom and Jerry. She has also fallen in love with sticking her tongue out.

Monday night I took MP to her very first CMS basketball game. It was a scrimmage game so it was very crowded and she got to meet a lot of my favorite students and CMS friends. She jumped every time she heard the buzzer and slept most of the game. I am so thankful that she can sleep right through loud noises and chaos. On Tuesday, MP turned 12 weeks old. I finally remembered and took her picture! YES!! I'm not sure exactly how much she weighs, but she is getting so big. I finally got my Ramsey pictures from MP’s 10 day old session. She acted crazy but he was able to get a few precious shots. They looked even more beautiful in person. I can’t wait to find the perfect frame and hang it up.

This weekend, we had Kerry Ann's graduation Friday night and a bridal shower for Ashley Bradshaw yesterday. Last night we had a few people over to watch the game. Sonni and Dawson were here and I got a sneak peak of whats to come with MP getting older. Sonni was sitting up and playing in the floor and Dawson was everywhere and into everything. They were both adorable and MP just chilled out with Kerry Ann on the couch. I wish I would have gotten my camera out. Today we are just taking it easy. I had a horrible head ache last night and this morning so we skipped out on church. We rode over to the farm to put Tanner's boat up and get lunch and MP slept the whole time. I am even learning to multi task just a little. Today I made MP a pallet on the floor with all her toys and I got in the floor and got all 300 papers graded. Who knew I could entertain her and grade at the same time.

 Getting ready for the shower.

 Hanging out with Aunt Leigh

Getting ready to fight the wind for a Sunday drive to the farm.

Thank goodness Tanner was asleep or he would have flipped out over this mess.
