This week was so relaxing and just a little bit hectic. I never knew the holidays could wear you out so much. After going from here to there and back and forth, we were all worn out. However, I did get in a lot of mommy time and I enjoyed every minute of it. Most of the week we spent hanging out in our pajamas and getting the house ready for Christmas. Thanksgiving we headed to my grandmothers and then to Brownsville that night to Mrs. Nancy’s parents. MP slept all the way there and back and then most of the night. I guess she was worn out too! Our first Thanksgiving as a family was busy, but we all ate way too much and had a fabulous time with our families. Friday we went to eat at Marlo’s and shopping on the square with Mrs. Nancy and Kerry Ann. It was 70 degrees outside and a perfect day for a stroll on the square. That night Anna and I had a date planned to take Palmer to see Christmas City. After driving all the way out there we discovered that it wasn’t even open yet. So we will be going back very soon. Saturday MP spent the afternoon with her Boogie while Tanner and I went to get our Christmas tree and watch the Egg Bowl. I can’t believe we didn’t make it to Starkville, but maybe next year. At least State pulled off another win.
Sunday we were lazy again and I attempted to light my Christmas tree. Twenty-six hundred lights, 3 extension cords, and 3 trips for more lights later, my tree it lit and decorated. I still have to finish the top but I have to wait on a ladder. Of course I picked out the biggest tree they had and blew the lights about 4 times before I got it working, but it is absolutely stunning. MP loves to look at all the lights. She will sit and stare at it for a good while. She is getting so big and the time is passing by so fast. I figure this is my last year to decorate the whole house because next year she will be 15 months and into everything I imagine. We have been picking out all kinds of goodies for her for Christmas even though I know she will have no clue whats going on. Tanner has already insisted that we set it all out from Santa. : )
Today I got up and got ready like any other day. Tanner headed hunting while I was getting ready and Lynn came early to help with MP. At around 9:15 I noticed Kerry Ann had been calling me several times. I figured it was no big deal and kept teaching. I finally answered and she told me Tanner had been in a wreck and his head hit the windshield. She told me he was going to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully I had an assistant at the time and was able to just walk out. I beat the ambulance to the hospital. Turns out some girl ran a red light and they hit head on. Tanner’s truck is really messed up and the girls Trailblazer is totaled. After sitting around waiting to see him at the ER we learned that he was fine and up walking around. He hit his head really hard but he is perfectly fine. WHEW!! The entire drive to the hospital I felt sick. The thought of anything ever happening to Tanner never crosses my mind because to me he is invincible. I am counting my blessings even more than usual tonight that Tanner is okay.
