Recently... well last night... I finally logged onto blog for the first time in I can't even remember how long! Brenna wanted to see pictures and hear the story of when we first brought Tag (our dog) home. I got sucked into reading old posts and looking through old pictures! It's amazing how much I have forgotten!! I found a couple of posts that I had written but hadn't posted. I didn't want to lose them so I published them. They are the two posts below. They are very much outdated and I am sorry about that, but indulge me. ;-)
In fact you just may have to indulge me a lot if I actually try to catch up as I would like to... I have missed a LOT, but hopefully I can remember enough to fill in some blanks. =)
More to come soon... Promise!!

It's a Hard Knock Life... When You're 3!
Friday night around 6:30, Brenna was helping me rotate the laundry while singing "Hop on board the animal train. Come on, everyone! Toot, toot!" I had finished and left the room and said, "Come on animals!" So Brenna crawled out of the laundry room. She wasn't even going fast when all of a sudden, her hands stopped short down by her waste but her body kept going! And being top heavy, she landed on the very edge of a tile along the grout line with all her weight just under her chin. With a loud THUD, the tears started!
I had thought it was just gonna be a big bruise, but then after sitting down with her and getting a look at it, my stomach flipped when I saw the gash and smelled the blood! Poor baby! Chris was sure that it was no big deal until he saw it for himself. Then there was no doubt that stitches were in order!
I knew the ER would be crazy on a Friday night and I didn't want to expose her to that much more illness this time of year so I thought, lets take her to the pediatric Urgent Care..... Big mistake! We were there for 2 1/2 hours. Five minutes of that was in the waiting room. A vast majority of that was in the patient room with this numbing cream on her skin. But at least 45mins of that was in the getting of the actual stitches.
I had my suspicions when the doctor came in and asked the nurse, "Ok, where should I... um well I probably should be sterile for this part, huh?" From the very beginning, the patient nurse walked the doctor through each and every little step, giving encouragement and praise where needed. We layed Brenna down on the table. The doctor on one side of the table and the nurse and I on the other. The nurse had her arm supporting Brenna's neck and her hands restraining her head and jaw from as much movement as possible. They told me she would not feel the shot of lanicane because of the numbing cream so instead of holding Brenna down, I was trying to distract her by reading her a story. Well... they were wrong... big time! She nearly jerked herself right off the table!
From then on. I was draped over the top of Brenna's body, holding both her and her arms down. She knew she had to be still, so she layed there with her little teeth clenched as hard as they could be, her neck and face bright red, and tears trickling down the sides of her eyes. It was enough to break your heart!
Both the nurse and the doctor were so impressed by how patient and sweet she was through the whole process. I was singing her songs and at one point asked if she wanted a specific song next and she said, "I really don't want songs right now, Momma." Oh, so sad!!!
It was so hard to watch her go through that! The doctor had NO idea what she was doing! She used three different needles to do 3 dumb stitches. Well four actually cause she had to do the last one TWICE cause she messed up with the knot. She kept poking the needle in and out and in and out, over and over again to make each stitch and while she knotted it, the needle was ALL over the place, from within a quarter inch of Brenna's eye, to jabbing me in the finger!
The stitches were so loose too, that by the next day, the middle one came untied and fell out. We had to take her to her peds office to get Steri-stips put on. Then the other two stitches came out and the cut got INFECTED! All in all... it was a rough experience!
One funny part of the whole thing was the Triage nurse was one of those "not-sure-what-your-gender-is" sort of gal. She had a scratch on her finger that Brenna was SO worried about! So we were sitting in the room waiting for them to do her stitches when Brenna goes, "I sure hope..." tilts her head to the side with a perplexed face, "was it a girl or a guy?" Me trying not to laugh, "She is a girl, honey." Brenna still not convinced, "Ok, well I sure hope that girl's finger get better." Hahaha! What a cutie!

Brenna Bloopers Continued...
The following post was made and saved a loooong time ago. I just found it in my drafts and decided to publish it. I had forgotten all about these stories! It crazy how much you can forget. And it is just so fun to come back to these little tidbits and take a little stroll down memory lane! =)
Tonight Brenna comes to the dinner table, looks at her plate, and exclaims with a chuckle like she finds us so silly,
"Chicken! Tatoes! No kidding! They are exact opposites!" And then takes a great big bite! =)
One of Brenna's favorite things to do is to go to http://www.starfall.com/ and play in the "Learn to Read" section. She can play "wearn to wead" all day if I let her. Well part of it are these short stories in which you can click on the words and it will sound it out and then say the word. It is really cool and I highly recommend it {I especially like the way they do the silent e}!
"Dir-rec-tions, Directions!...."
This morning Brenna had her little keyboard on a loop with the same tune. She was dancing all around our front room on her knees while making up her own little song to the music. I can't remember it all, for it went on for a while, but here is a taste:

Anyway, the other day I was pulling my coupons out of my papers. There were newspapers spread out all over the floor thanks to Little Miss Mess! ;) Brenna was lying on her back, knees bent with one ankle crossed over her knee. Her little foot bouncing up and down, while reading to herself:
"Dir-rec-tions, Directions!...."

I fall down everyday,
But I'm still ok.
The much better I feel,
I play dog everyday.
The much better I feel,
The much better I FEEL!
It was quite entertaining. Then I went to go type this, and I hear...
"You're Missing It! You're Missing It!!!!!"
Me: "Missing what???"
Brenna: "THE SHOW!!! You're missing the SHOW!"
So several times during the day, I would have to go sit on the front room couch while she galloped and jumped and danced to all different preset tunes on her little piano! She would gallop around the room jumping over obstacles she had placed around and then throwing her arms up in the air in a big "TA-DA!" motion with a huge smile on her face. It was really funny because she normally hates to have an audience! Maybe we are beginning a new phase...

My Comic Relief
I have a horrible migraine this afternoon/evening and it always makes me more emotional. So I was crying and went to the bathroom {crying always makes me have to pee... no idea why} and of course, my thoughtful Brenna heard me and followed me in there.
Brenna: What's the matter Momma?
Me: Oh sweetie Momma's head just really hurts.
{she hears me tinkle}
Brenna: Oh wow, great job Momma! Now you get a chocolate kiss! {her reward for using the potty}
Me: Thanks! Do you want to try to use the potty so you can get one?
Brenna: Oh, no thanks Momma. Maybe later. Dogs just don't have bums like you guys!
Ummm.... o..k....! LOL! This girl cracks me up! What would I do without all the funny things she says and does???
P.S. I have a ton of catching up to do but my head just hurts too bad! I will catch up soon though... promise! :)

Oh! I almost forgot...
Just before Fathers Day my awesome friend took Brenna's pictures for me! They turned out fantastic, which is saying a lot with my craziness and Brenna's crankiness, LOL!
THANK YOU ANGIE! You are amazing! :)

Little Miss Grown Up
Brenna: Momma, I need this net on my bike for my bike ride. Do you have any ideas how I can do this???
Me: {stifling a laugh} Do you think we can tape it?
Brenna: Ya!!! That would be GREAT!
So we taped the butterfly net from the dollar store to the back of her tricycle, she put her balloon that she has been talking to all morning in it, and away she went with a huge smile on her face. Later she decided it needed a little something extra, so she added a shirt to the net {no idea why} and the net fell off...
Brenna: OH NO!!!
Me: That's OK. We can just put more tape on it.
Brenna: No. I think it just needs stronger tape.
Hahaha! Where does this girl come up with this stuff??? She is only 3! Yet she talks and thinks so much older! She is such a crack up! But I hope she doesn't try to grow up too fast! It goes fast enough as it is! :)

Some days are just harder...
I am very blessed! I have an amazing husband who is also my best friend and my equal partner in every way. I have a beautiful, sweet, intelligent, and loving daughter who is an absolute blast to raise! I still can't believe Heavenly Father trusted me with her! She is just so very special.
As blessed as I am, I still would love to have more children. Most of the time I stay pretty positive. I try very hard not to let the struggle with infertility bring me down. What good would that do anyway, right?
But some days are just harder than others.
I took a pregnancy test this morning, fairly confident that there would be two lines in the box, but I was let down. Again. I hate it when I get my hopes up!
Then again, I never want to loose hope either.
A friend of mine and I talked yesterday and she told me about 3 women she met at a baby shower recently. Each of these women had been trying to have a baby for some time. One woman had been trying for 11 years! All of them tried this natural supplement called Maca Root and nothing else. All of them are pregnant! The woman who had been trying for 11 years got pregnant in 3 months! Another woman who had been trying for 2 years got pregnant in 1 month!!!
I have no idea if it will work for me or not, but I am excited and anxious to try it! We want another baby so bad! I hope Chris will not be upset with me for sharing this but...
The other day, he was playing baby dolls with Brenna and she wanted him to sing the baby to sleep. He cradled the doll and sang to it a song he used to sing to Brenna and just started bawling. He realized then, he had been lying to himself at just how much he wants another child.
I hope to be worthy of another baby to come into my family really soon, but I also hope to been patient and long-suffering in accepting the Lords will and the Lords time.
On a side note: If you or anyone you know is struggling with infertility, please pass on the information on Maca Root. I have no personal testament to give yet, but it is worth a try or at least the time to look into it! Good luck! :)
