Finish Focus: Gilded Iron

We are very proud to offer a fantastic assortment of exquisite, hand-applied living finishes at Visual Comfort. The great care we take in creating our finishes produces beautiful results and is part of what makes our lighting collections so special. We are devoted to authentic, natural materials that give our designs their custom nature. We create “living” finishes that are warm and real, fashioned to enrich and patina over time.

Gilded Iron is one of our newer finishes, but it has already proven to be a favorite among our clients. The method of creating this finish includes hand-applying gold leaf. The results are very representative of the hand-made nature of our item rendering each lamp or fixture a unique work of art. In addition to the beautiful color and depth that comes with our Gilded Iron finish, an added plus is the fact that it is a very low-maintenance finish—simply dust with a microfiber cloth.

Randall Powers and was featured in House Beautiful a few years ago. For the kitchen, designer and client opted for the classic Country Industrial Pendant in Bronze with White Glass shades.

Designed by Giannetti Architects, this stunning kitchen features many traditional elements along with a stunning range hood, glass-door refrigerator, and our Large Country Industrial Pendants in Polished Nickel with White Glass shades.

The bronze finish of the lighting and hardware in this beautiful, vintage-inspired kitchen by Chicago’s Kitchen Lab gives a great contrast to the white subway tile and cabinetry. Shown here, are our Yoke Pendants in Bronze along with our Pimlico Double Swing Arm Wall Lamps in Bronze. 

Channeling an industrial look, this kitchen, featured in Martha Stewart Living earlier this year creates a statement through a series of Boston Functional Two-Arm Wall Lights.
