Celebrate good times come on!

Finished the Australia in Asia exam yesterday, and words cannot describe how I feel now. Before yesterday it was misery, boredom, dread... but when the clock hit 11 yesterday morning I was screeeeaming inside "HOOOOOORAY!" It may just be another exam, but the fact that I'd be work-free for the next three months is just WOOHOO! :p

Be flying home in 6 days time.

Met my sem 1 Chinese classmates for dinner last night, after a short nap at home in the afternoon. It was pretty nice seeing everyone again, even though we weren't even close when we did the course. But why that restaurant again??! -_-

The China girls. Why am I not in the pic? Because I took it :p

After meeting the girls I went to Crown and met Huawei, Larry, Kenn and Nat for.... *drum roll* Kill Bill. My sincerest apologies to those back home who want to watch but are not able to because of age :p It was super gory and bloody (I had my jacket on my face for 2 hours -_-) but I loved every minute of it. Go Uma Thurman (she is super tall)!! Fantastic soundtrack (The opening theme was "bang bang!" all the way it was funny), creatively choreographed fighting scenes (the blood literally spewing like fountains), some smart dialogue here and there, and a short clip of Japanese animation in between, which was so so good. An entertaining movie which will keep you on the edge of your seat for 2 full hours. I liked the fact that actors with different nationalities were casted in the film. Japanese, Chinese, half-French-half-Japanese (she was pretty hot!), American... and Lucy Liu (!!!) looked pretty convincing as a half-Japanese-half-cannot-remember-already towkay neo of some triad. Wicked. Very, very wicked. Grrrrrrrrr. Shall wait to see how Daryl Hannah and Bill die in the end. *rubbing hands with glee*

Stayed over at Nat's place with Kenn 'cos I didn't have the guts to go home after watching such a movie (sigh, sissy me). And we had a photo-taking session which was simply hilarious. Well, shan't post any here because I need to maintain my image *ahem* Interested persons kindly contact me for a private view. Only close pals allowed :p

All 3 of us fell asleep while watching "Guess Guess Guess" (they've got tapes here!). And.....

Stupid Kenn took pics of me sleeping!!!!!!! -_-

Woke up at 12 noon and decided to catch a bit of Jerry Springer (don't ask why) before walking all the way to town for lunch -_- (they made me). Shanghai dumpling again. Saw a baby who had his face eternally buried in his mum's... uh... nevermind. Kenn attempted to take a pic of them (don't ask why again) but it turned out bad. Really bad. But we did take this one, which turned out really good!

Yay to Kenn and me. Piggy said I looked like I had a bit to drink o.O?

Anyway, I was bored yesterday morning so I decided to take a picture of Xiao Xiang, my darling pet elephant who goes wherever I go, even on the plane.

Isn't he such a dear? I love him to bits :>

You're my everything
And nothing really matters but the love you bring.

Damn the guy who invented Friendster.

Friendster. Everyone is on Friendster. But I am starting to develop a love-hate relationship with it. Friendster isn't too good for health, I realised. It gives you the biggest surprises (shocks to be exact) in the world which affects your mental well-being. Like just now, I was surfing through a primary school friend's Friendster profile and was looking at her photos... then I literally stopped breathing cos I realised she is currently attached to BOB (Yusheng, Ryan, whatever) from DHS. Like, what the hell???? For those who know Bob, yes... he is attached to my very sweet, very pretty, and very nice Primary school friend (YZPS people, I am sad to say that it is Sonia). I refuse to believe it. And yes, thanks to Friendster...

I found about 8 more Primary school friends just now. (Lannie and KJ, you guys have got to check Meihui out!!! She is now known as Claris haha) It's probably nice to know how everyone has changed since 1995. Not that we are gonna start keeping in touch from now on though... -_-

I hate Friendster sometimes. It once again confirms the fact that Singapore is TOO small. Too small for her own good. And it affects my health cos tonight I am going to have a nightmare about Bob and Sonia. I mean, does she even KNOW that the nickname "BOB" was given to him to stand for "Body Odour Boy"??!!?!??!!!!!

Suddenly feel afraid writing all this down. What if one day the wrong people stumble upon this site? =/

Piggy's leaving tomorrow.

When you smile
I can tell we know each other very well.

Dionne Warwick - This girl's in love with you

My god. Was Yvette good with this song or what?!

Alright. I was done with criminology today, which wasn't too bad, really. But then again, I wish I'd started studying earlier so that I'd answer the questions more confidently. Arrrgghh. It's ALWAYS the case -_- Shucks. I think I shall pass on getting an A for the subject.

Pulled another all-nighter at Kenn's place studying crim. It's been a very sad life for the past 2 days. Slept for 2 hours last night, waking up to study on and off, grab bits of food from his fridge, made honey, eggs with corned beef... Yummy. Kenn, thank you for being so hospitable as always. I wouldn't know what the exam period would be like without your food!! :>

Was feeling really triumphant after the paper so went to town to meet Piggy and Nat, who both suggested watching "Mystic River" after dinner (Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon). I was initially really reluctant cos I didn't get enough sleep the night before and therefore was thinking I'd probably sleep through the movie anyway. But I decided to go eventually though. The movie was.... bleh. Goes to show that a star-studded cast doesn't guarantee good stuff. We were so disappointed. If it ever goes to Singapore or is already in Singapore, maybe you should consider giving it a pass. Unless you are some bored old freak who has completed your exams.

Well, I haven't.

Dammit.

Going back in 8 days. I don't know if I wanna feel excited about it. In fact I am kinda dreading it now. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen to go back so soon. Like, argh. I wanna stay here and enjoy life!!! Nevermind. I'll look forward to the food... and some people.

To the Melbourne people reading this: WE MUST MEET UP OFTEN IN SINGAPORE! :>

I'm in such a super slack mood. I opened Kazaa and started going on a "Last Christmas" download spree. As in, I downloaded all available versions of that classic song by Wham! in the 80s :p It was the first, most original, and undoubtedly the best version among all. Kenn, look what you did to me... you're getting me hooked on to the Christmas mood. And it's 21st November now?!?!

Can't wait to see the Christmas decos along Orchard. Are they any good this year? And KJ, congrats your A's are over!!! :>

I'm dreaming of a white christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.

Okay, I guess I am really bored. I thought this was pretty cool but turns out that whenever you press "back" and key in the same name, you actually get a different answer. So, what's the point? And sorry Kenn, I thought I just had to put yours down.

PS to all: I did a check for each and everyone of you here ^_^ To have some fun with it by yourself (and to destress), here's the link:

Meeting Seet later for dinner. He's here on a short holiday with his folks. But wait, isn't my crim exam on Thursday? -_-

Becceria, Lombroso, Comte, Merton, Durkheim... blah. Good thing you guys are all dead. Or at least I think so.

Close your eyes
Give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating?

The Bangles - Eternal Flame.

Is Atomic Kitten reading? You guys really shouldn't have done a cover of this song if it's gonna sound the same anyway. On another note (pun intended) altogether, the Human Nature version rocked.

4.50 pm.

Mariel Wong Jing Ling just called me to ask me to "Guess who's walking in front of me now??!!" (Piggy, now I notice the pattern).

"Freddy!!!!!" I exclaimed almost immediately.

"No?! Why would I call you about Freddy??!!"

"Har...??"

"I'm at uni!!!!!"

And then it hit me.

"MAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed into her ears.

She said he smiled at her, and I was fuming mad by the end of her sentence. I told her to "STOPPIT!!!!" about ten times.

Blah.

Okay. Time for "lunch".

I'm still coming to terms with my decision about not continuing with Chinese Studies. Why Why Why??

After all, Mayo did say I have a future in Chinese Studies.

Sob.

Current music: Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight (again and again and again)

Okay, so I haven't been blogging for a few days. I think it's because I don't really have anything much to say.

American History essay due 5 days later.

We began the course by looking at letters that demonstrated a faith in government and the president. Discuss how this faith has changed in the time since. What are the implications of these changes?

I currently have 523 words. Which means if I continue writing 200 per day, I'd be done by the 17th. Just nice. But you see, I have a criminology exam on the 20th (Wednesday) which means I have to hurry up with the darn essay (which is super hard to write) and start studying!!!!! -_-

I hate it when EVERYTHING is due at the same time. Let us all uni students wallow in self pity.

And to the anonymous person who left a comment yesterday, could you please identify yourself? :> It could be one of you but I just wanted to make sure I know who exactly reads this page. Hmm. I must be really careful with my words man. Grrrr. Which defeats the purpose of a blog.

I've got this crazy plan of learning driving during the 3 month holidays (since I've got my PDL already but I just need to renew), then coming back to Melbourne to practise more, then faster get the licence before I get back next June. That is, if I don't stay here to do winter intensive (Nooooo!!!! I refuse!!!!!!!).

And speaking of driving, congrats to Jean who just passed her driving!! Now you can be independent to drive around by yourself. Heh. Enjoy your HK trip while I enjoy... mugging. Grrrr.

Oh yay I finally managed to download the HXT version of "Qiu Tian Bie Lai". I must have repeated it like 10 times last night :p

David Tao concert 25 days away. I can't wait already.

And when is Jay coming again?! Hopefully before I go back. PLEASE. I can't bear missing him another time >.<

You came and breathed new life
Into this lonely heart of mine.

Brian McKnight - Back at One.

This song spent time with me while I was mugging for the O's. It was that period of time when he had all these "number" hits such as this one and "6, 8, 12". Doh.

Friday, November 07, 2003

Yay yay yay I did my learner's permit test and (finally) passed. I have officially obtained my learner's licence!!!! :p I can now learn driving, pass it asap and get a mini cooper car. Hopefully. *beams*

But I look like crap. A wanted criminal.

And finally, an upclose, in-your-face photo of Blob. Sorry girls, I know he ain't your cuppa tea :p

Well Piggy, it's all up to you now! On the 20th! :p

And, after getting my licence I was feeling good so I finally forced myself to go down to the immigration office AGAIN to collect my permission to work visa.
-_- I waited for like, an hour before they issued it to me. DIMIA stinks!! >.< Fortunately I had "The Pilot's Wife" to read. But now my head's suffering from a major spin because all I heard during that hour was "Ticket number blah blah blah, please proceed to Counter X now." Try listening to that repeatedly for an hour while reading a book -_-

Arranged to meet Nat in town because that girl has finished her exams and is now happily distributing her resume all around the city, looking for a job to KILL TIME -_- Lazed around a bit at Starbucks with an icy cold Rhumba frap (LOVE it!!!!!!) before crazily deciding to go for buffet dinner at Crown with her. I invited mm, Gin, Kenn and Piggy as well but they were either "busy" or "broke" or "didn't read my sms in time" -_- So it was just Nat and myself at King's buffet :p Ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate. As it is I am super full now. I feel like just crashing onto my bed without bathing, changing and brushing my teeth.

Next essay due soon, and I'm slacking again o.O

PS: Gerry, I loved your "How to write an essay in college" thing on your blog. You should know why, heh :p

And when you turned to me and smiled
It took my breath away.

Chris De Burgh - Lady in Red.

Arrrgghhhhhh. What is wrong with Kazaa?

I am dying to download the original version of "Qiu Tian Bie Lai" by HXT but when it finished downloading I got the Sky Wu version one instead. AGAIN. But the file name stated HXT!!!!!!!

I feel cheated.

Does any kind soul have the mp3 of the HXT version to send me? *looks hopefully at HJ - I know you used to like this song very much*

It's almost 2 am and I have to start studying for my theory test.

There can be only one word to describe me now - TIRED. Very, very tired.

Here I am sitting in the living room (that's where my laptop is permanently situated because it's connected to the "main broadband hub" thingy, whatever you call it) and I hear irritating Japanese anime themes coming (no, screaming) from Blob's room. Annoyed. What on earth is it with J-pop songs man?!? Particularly those by female bands?! For one, I don't understand what they're singing about, and two, don't they all sound the same?! Speed, ELT, Max (??) and the like. And, Ayumi Hamasaki -_- Arrrggghhh. I've lost count, and I can't tell the difference between them, really.

On the other hand, I think Utada Hikaru rocks.

Okay, so I am tired. Not as in sleepy-tired but exhausted-tired. Left the house at about 2.30 (overslept AGAIN), wanting to go to the immigration office to collect my work permit visa (nonono I am not intending to work, just in case you are wondering - it's a long story but just take it that I have to get the visa). So I trammed all the way to Lonsdale, walked about 10 mins (for me that's pretty far) to get to the office, only to find that the bloody place is closed. CLOSED. Why?!!?? Then on the glass sliding door, I read "Wednesdays - 8.30 am-1.30 pm". WHAT???!!!!! Which government organisation closes on Wednesdays at 1.30 pm???!!! Great. Why am I always so unlucky when it comes to such things?! Now you all know, guys - Never overestimate the Australians' working hours.

So I had to walk 10 mins (sigh) back to the main road, where I trammed to Student Health Services to meet Piggy, who was there getting an MC for... well, we shall keep that confidential here won't we? :p Turned out that she tried to call me to inform me that she was already done and on the way to uni, but I couldn't hear her call because I was listening to my MP3 player (!!). Therefore, unknowingly I got off the tram and walked (again) to the health centre, and when I couldn't find her, I thought she was in the doctor's room. So I sat outside the doctor's room waiting for her to appear. Ten minutes passed and an Aussie guy came out (!!!!). Sigh. So I called her and realised that she went to school to turn in her essay -_-

Arranged to meet Piggy at Subway instead of the tram stop, because I was literally starrrrving (it was close to 4 pm). Had a 6-inch steak and cheese on Parmesan bread, with extra cheese as usual. Yum. I love Subway but I think I have been eating too much of it here :p At about 4.10 pm we got on a tram 22 to Vic Roads, to register for our driving theory test (like finally). I wanted to get it over and done with, so I picked to do it this Friday (ie: 2 days from today, at 1.40 pm). Hope I finally get down to doing it this time (yes I registered before in May but skipped it because I didn't study :p). I mean, there is no way I can fail it. The stupid test is like 27 bucks??!! Which equals 33 bucks in SG dollars??!! -_-

After registering for the test, we trammed back to uni to return stuff at the ERC, which means we had to walk again.

By 5 pm or so I was getting pretty restless so I suggested to Piggy that she should go take a look at the new Safeway which just opened about a week ago. And so we went. It was my 4th time in 5 days though. Can't get enough of new places to shop. Well, but only for groceries. I hate other kinds of shopping -_-

Spent awhile at Safeway but this time I didn't have alot of stuff (it was my 4th time in 5 days anyway). Piggy, on the other hand, spent $50.86 on her stuff. (lala, I remember). And since it was close to dinner time we decided to have dinner together at Singapore Kopitiam (hilarious I know). They've got a funky new menu which rocks!!! Saw "breakfast beehoon" under "vegetarian" and I just died. Absolutely died. I love breakfast beehoon. It's plain, but I love it :p So eventually I had a plate of beehoon with an egg and luncheon meat! With iced teh-tarik. *faint* I almost felt like I was in Singapore.

Exactly 3 weeks more to the end of my exams and approximately 23 days to going home, where I shall be rotting for the next 3 months.

Okay, I have to start studying hard for my theory test!

You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care.

Billy Joel - Just The Way You Are.

Watching Felicity Season II while blogging now...

Spent an entire afternoon chilling (and exchanging cool songs via thumb drive) at Kenn's place with Piggy. Nat was supposed to arrive (at 10, ahem) but in the end she overslept till 6 (pm??!!) and decided to stay home after all. And therefore the 3 of us watched Aussie Idol with Andrew with Meat Lovers' pizza and Coke. But sigh, I paid 8 bucks for a slice -_- Kenn I am so gonna go back and have lunch at your place tomorrow!!!! :D Thanks in advance for grilling them so "they'll be crisp and good".

Pavarotti and friends do some really good songs, I must admit *giggle* There was Aqua, Annie Lennox and Tracy Chapman!!!!

(sings "Baby can I hold you tonight..." Pavarotti style. You will never wanna know how that sounds, guys :p)

Okay, everyone around me is learning or already knows how to drive. Huawei and Sponk are both only eighteen and have got their licenses already!!! Grrrrr. Jealous. I must not lag behind. I will go do my basic theory after my exams on the 28th and make sure I get it by June before I get back to Singapore for winter.

I wish.

STOP PDA-ING IN PUBLIC YOU GUYS ARE MAKING ME SICK!!!!!

Through the hourglass I saw you
Each time you slipped away
When a mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say.

Berlin - Take My Breath Away.

I love (luurrrveee lurrrfff lurrvvvv) this song. Tom Cruise looked so hot in Top Gun. Well that was many many years ago though :p

Season = Spring
You're Most Like The Season Spring ...

Fresh faced, with a young outlook on life - you
smile at the world and expect it to smile back
at you. You're mostly a bubbly, fun - innocent
person. Described as cute possibly. However,
you're a little naive about things and tend to
be a little too trustworthy.
As the first season, It Makes you the youngest -
and so most immature - but people are inclined
to look out for and protect you.

Well done... You're the most fun of the seasons :)

?? Which Season Are You ??
brought to you by Quizilla

A candid shot of Blob. 'nuff said.

You'll be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much.
