This beautiful rendition of a Virginia Homestead was created by artist Anthony Thieme in the 1920's. It is from the 1930's Art Scrapbook I discovered last fall in a favorite antique mall. All of the works in this book were collected, cut and pasted into a scrapbook by a long ago young lady in the early 1930's. She certainly was a lover of the arts of her day! And they have stood the test of time!
The robins have come back "full-bloom" to my backyard and once again it is alive with action and excitement! Now I'm waiting for the return of the wrens! I love springtime, don't you!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out into the yard today and found this beautiful bouquet of blue flowers (scilla siberica) growing near the base of a tree. In the fifteen years we have been in this home we have not planted nor seen these in our yard before. Truly a joyous Easter surprise!
Happy Easter everyone! Wishing each and every one of you all the joys of the day and the months to come!
If you haven't visited my SAHM daughter Carrie's new blog please take a minute, stop over, and say hi. Your support is so appreciated in this difficult time!
