Virginia Homestead on Pink Saturday!
This beautiful rendition of a Virginia Homestead was created by artist Anthony Thieme in the 1920's. It is from the 1930's Art Scrapbook I discovered last fall in a favorite antique mall. All of the works in this book were collected, cut and pasted into a scrapbook by a long ago young lady in the early 1930's. She certainly was a lover of the arts of her day! An Easter Surprise!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out into the yard today and found this beautiful bouquet of blue flowers (scilla siberica) growing near the base of a tree. In the fifteen years we have been in this home we have not planted nor seen these in our yard before. Truly a joyous Easter surprise!Happy Easter everyone! Wishing each and every one of you all the joys of the day and the months to come!
