A scene at Pin Mill. I started this painting three weeks ago, just before my Studio was started. I managed to complete it today, thank God.

More Sketches at the club. Still haven`t been able to paint.

I thought that seeing that I haven`t managed to post any paintings, I would show some of my sketches that I did at our club on Monday.

I haven`t been able to get to my studio for some time now due to an extention to it. Rain also has held things up. I thought that I would show something, so here is something. I should have made a painting of it instead of a photo. Then again, the weather has been terrible and I couldn`t get to my paints.

6x8 oils on canvas board. Another quickie, small one this time. They have just pulled over for a break.

Saturday, 16 February 2013

I have painted this subject before, so I have painted it again to see if I could go about it in a different way. I think it has worked out a better painting than the first attempt. This scene is in Norwich where my Son lives. we went for a walk to see if there were any subjects that I fancied painting. I spotted this one with another possible subject for which I have already painted it.

The Spritsail Barge Ena. She was built in 1906 and bought for £875. Then another £232 fitting her out. There is a lot written about her but this blog is about painting and not too much facts.

Another Thames Barge. It`s called "the Tollesbury". I want to explaine to all Boat experts that I hardly know anything about Barges or any boats come to that. And I paint these lovely Barges the way I want to paint them, and not with all the technical bits and pieces. I do apologize to those who get upset because I haven`t put this and that what should be there.

Another Thames Barge. I never tire of painting these beautiful Barges. This one I think is called The May. It was acquired by Tate and Lyle the Sugar people. They purchased it in 1964. There is another barge that I want`to paint soon.
