Our year was filled with challenges and blessings but we are glad to have each other to share our lives.
Kristi and her husband Garrett are very busy with four little ones, Cody 9, Logan 7, Emily 3, and Abby 2. Garrett is an engineer at the Redding Fire Department and Kristi is a Social Worker for CPS for the county. The boys are busy with every sport that includes a ball and Cody is also a member of the local children’s choir. As they grow, each day is a new adventure and they each have darling and very unique personalities.
Cody is learning to ride horses with the neighbors and as I watched him last week, I was so impressed with his natural skill. He must get that from his great-grandpa Otto. The girls are full of rough and tumble but did take time out to sit me down for a makeover with hair and make-up tools. We also played with the princess dolls. Logan never slows down and is always cheerful and can dance like a champion with the Wii dancing game.
Shawn and Tesha brought a huge blessing to our family this year with the birth of our little Reese. She is such a sweet baby and her smile will send you over the moon. Shawn is a fireman/paramedic with the City of Sacramento and works at a very busy station in a dangerous part of the city. Bless his heart for all that he does. Tesha does a wonderful job as a stylist including keeping the gray hidden in my hair when necessary. They are both wonderful new parents.
Kevin has finished the fire academy and paramedic school and is currently working as a paramedic in Sacramento County for a private company. He is good at what he does and is anxious to find that perfect fire job and settle into his career. He has become a workout machine as of late and spends hours at the gym getting that “perfect body”. He has quite a sense of humor and if you need a laugh ask him to tell you one of his stories.
I am plugging along with work and counting down to retirement. With only four years to go, I can’t wait to divide my time between my home in Montana and here in California. I continue to keep occupied with church work, gardening and a bit of sewing. Seems like work takes most of my time but it also provides me with the house payment which is a huge blessing in these times. I am grateful for all the blessing that I have which include my family, my faith and my good health. We are looking forward to 2012 and the rich experiences it will bring to our family.
