Twinkies Turn Three!!!

My babies are officially 3!!!! I've made it another year! We celebrated, sang them separate "Happy Birthday" songs, and I'll post the cute pix tomorrow. Just wanted to show you where they started and how it still amazes and humbles me that they are here with us.

This is a week and a half before my water broke and I was put on bedrest in the hospital for a month. I was much bigger with CC, but she was 9.5 at birth, where Ava and Bree were 7 lbs put together.

This is Bree's and my first photo together.

Ava's saying "This one's me"

Grandpa Rich either has ginormous hands or these babies were tiny.

Kennedy and CC were so happy to have their family all together, so were their parents.

"The Reader...I didn't see The Reader"

What a fun night at the movies(awards). I love shows and boy does Hugh Jackman give a good one. My favorite is his performance of "The Reader...I didn't see The Reader." It's minute 6 of this is you want to fast forward, but I recommend the entire thing.

On a side note: CC just handed me a sandwich and told me she made me a sandwich "Special for you." So I'm trying to figure out what the white stuff between the two pieces of bread is, it doesn't smell like miracle whip or mayo, hmm...it actually smells good. So, I lick it and start laughing my head off. She's made me a sandwich out of two pieces of bread and lotion, Bath and Bodywork Vanilla Brown Sugar to be exact. My tongue's a little numb from licking it and I think that's funny, oh but it gets better. Ava walks in with her "sandwich" half eaten and lotion all over her face. Lovely.

My alter ego "DJ SnakPak"

I'm such a nerd.
I was asked to DJ our ward family dance next weekend and have been putting together a playlist of kid friendly tunes. The activities committee asked me to announce the songs and offer to make requests and other dj-esque things. So here's my nerdy train of thought...."If I'm going to be DJing a dance, I need a sweet alter ego."
So I'm going with ..(drumroll).. DJ SnakPak!
Kid friendly and a little edgy, too.
I know, I'm such a nerd.

When I'm not looking....

This is going to be an ongoing theme, like the "Favorites Friday's". I will title this one simply "When I'm not looking" and they should all be self explanatory.

This was the most recent one...

....that was 5 pounds of tangerines to be exact.

Lovely Day

We had a lovely afternoon at the park with our friends K and E. Here's some shots of the day.

Kennedy's Baptism or Holy Cats I'm getting old!

My baby was baptized last week. She looked beautiful and I'm very proud of her. We had a lot of family and friends come to support her and we had a lovely lunch afterwards. Here's some of the crowd.
(As a game, try and count how many people are taking a bite.)

New do's

In an effort to save money, I've cut Ava and Bree's hair. The amount I'll save each month on hair detangler should help double their college funds. I might also have a happier home in the mornings. The phrase weeping, wailing, and gnashing their teeth is familiar in our home when it's time to brush their hair. It was painful to cut it off (emotionally for me, not that I nicked them or anything), I did it myself also to save money, but it looks cute. So here are the new, almost 3 twinkies.....(drumroll please)

I also got a trim and some bangs from the most entertaining of stylist, Shannon. If anyone's looking for a great stylist, he's my favorite.

Favorites Friday

CC. This kid is awesomely funny. While I was downstairs cleaning, she hijacked my computer and took about 200 -yeah that's two hundred shots of herself and her many silly faces. Someday this kid is going to win an Emmy.

Rockband. I've said it before, my kids rock it out. Kennedy has gotten 100 percent on singing "Call Me" and can rock on the drums and guitar. So come on over and rock it out with us.

The Office. Yeah, I couldn't figure out why they were talking to the camera half the time, but got over that and now can't get enough of it.

Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. I have the piano book for this too, but I'm not very good at reading music, so it's taking time. But the music is sweet and inspiring and my favorite songs are "Postcards to Henry Purcell" and "Liz on top of the world." Lovely

Favorites Friday

I've been wanting to start a reoccuring post about my favorite things, so here's my go at doing something on a regular basis.

This week, Mandarin Oranges.
I was scared off by little oranges for years, cause back in the day they used to be filled with seeds and difficult to peel.
Now, thanks to science I'm sure, they are easy to peel and relatively seed free. Bree loves peeling them, but could care less about eating them. So, thanks to my SIL Cara for introducing me to them.

Asian sesame dressing. My mom got me hooked on the Good Seasons variety, but we can't find it anymore. Thank heavens Kraft came up with a good one. My kids all eat this on lettuce and cucumbers.

And humor.
It's my favorite thing all the time, but especially when it makes me cry and works my abs.

Onslaught from Utah cont'd....

Chilling on Grandma Paula's bed, best seat in the house (which in insanely beautiful, my mom redid the entire house - you should stop by and see!)

My new neice Lindy, isn't she gorgeous!

My new step-sis-in-law Johanna, she made her very stunning dress, dancing with CC and MJ. Right background is bride's brother, who apparently was in Baptists at the Barbeque, a movie (I haven't seen it.)

Chillin' with K Dog at the wedding.

Sassy Sister Shelby

The Caziers, my dad, step mom, and Grandpa.

Bree and Lindylou

My grandpa is the coolest. He walked in the house, said "Hello" to the adults and prompty sat on the floor and continued to play puzzles with my girls. I teared up.

My lovely friend Sheri and her insanely lovely daughter Amelia

Step bro Jack and his awesome sledding track on the side of his house.

WHEEEE!!!

This is me and Amelia doing our Maori greeting

I love this photo. Ava is composed and attentively watching Backyardagins (she found her happy place) and CC is multi-tasking, working on her iphone while curling her hair.

We finished off the trip with a fantastic visit with my Knappy cousins and ALL their kids. Boy does this family know how to continue the line. We got to visit with my best friend from high school days, Sheri Willey and her insanely beautiful Amelia. We saw my brother's new house in Lehi and ate at my two favorite Utah spots, Artic Circle and Chick-fil-A. My ultimate uber-favorite restaurant in Utah is a little place in Logan called The Bluebird Cafe. If you are ever there, stop by and have an Ironport soda. It's the best.
The drive home was relatively easy, we only got the kids out of the car twice, which is pretty amazing. All in all a wonderful trip. Thanks Mom and Steve for the wonderful hospitality, and all my family, we will miss you!
