Forget The Hassle!!!

Well...I went private, thinking it would make me feel more free to say and post whatever I wanted. But it actually proved to be more of a hassle than it was worth (especially for my semi-technology-challenged-mother).

So...for any and all of you that may be interested, you are WELCOME to visit our new blog:

Free to Be Me!! (going private)

So I've been thinking about this for awhile now, and I realized that this really is the only form of journaling that I do (and not very well at that). So I need to do it right. I don't know if any of you are like me- but I have a tendency to edit a little too much on my blog entries. There's the whole length issue (I mean how much do people really want to read about your recent exploits?). But then, more importantly, there's the modesty issue (and I'm not talking clothes). Because your blog is public, you are careful not to make your kids sound too cool, or your husband too wonderful (nobody likes a bragger, right?!). But what if your kids are too cool, and your husband is too wonderful (at least in your eyes)...don't they deserve to know you feel that you feel that way?? The most logical solution is for me to keep a separate journal...but I don't have time for both (and I LOVE that blogging is journaling and scrapbooking all in one...absolutely brilliant!!). So, the second best solution...going private. This way I can say what I want to say and know that those select few who are brave enough to want to read it still can- while allowing the rest of you to be free from my TRUE thoughts on life and love and...whatever else. So, if you would like me to invite you to my new blog- let me know...but don't feel bad if you don't. Now I am blogging for me (what's that saying..."I'm Free to Be Me"!).

My Little Fairies

I decided it was time to say goodbye to my Dr. Seuss room and make it just a little more girlie. And what's more girlie than fairies.
I just love fairies...I mean what girl doesn't.
But once I had the theme, I needed the art.
And why go buy Fairy art when I could create my own.
So that's what I did...I make my own little Fairies (with a little help of course)
My sister Brittany came over and helped me make the costumes (and yes, I know they are a little immodest...but they are fairies!! Get over it!!)
Then Vern's sister Shirley came by and helped with Hair and makeup (doesn't Hannah's hair look AWESOME!!). I just love it!!
And could a picture session possible be complete without Grandma & Grampy there to make them smile?!!
This was seriously so fun. And the girls loved dressing up!!
Okay...so maybe Rachel didn't really care (in fact she HATED the headband...which explains the unfairy-like baldness going on)
But Hannah...she was DEFINITELY loving it. Once again- what girl doesn't love fairies (and dressing up like one beats all).
It was so much fun, that we had to carefully explain to Tyler that it really isn't good for boys to dress like fairies too. "But mom, why can't boys be Fairies too?"
"Hmm...because I think boys make better Cowboys! Don't you think?"
"Can I dress up like a cowboy and take pictures then?"
"Absolutely!! Let's do that!"
(we were glad that worked out okay)
Now their room is filled with the cutest artwork of all...pictures of them!!
Like I could have found fairies as stinkin' cute as these two!! (perhaps I'm a little biased)
I sure love My Little Fairies!!

New Room

pictures to come!!

Hannah's Three (CRAZY!!)

Hannah just turned 3...and I just can't believe it. They grow up WAY too fast.
She woke up early that morning and was excited that it was her birthday.
But I think Tyler was even more excited. He wrapped up her presents (all by himself) and couldn't wait to give them to her.
He didn't even give us a chance to wash off her makeup from the recital the night before (she fell asleep before we could wash it off right after the recital). But that didn't stop her!! She was so excited by Tyler's gift, he just had to be hugged!!
And she loved her gift from Rachel too...unfortunately, Rach slept right though it (did I mention Ty was a little anxious?!!)
The pretty fairy doll and the fairy movie fit right in with her present from Mom and Dad...
can you guess what it was???
WE REDECORATED HER ROOM...in Fairies. Oh my goodness it's SOOOO cute. She absolutely loved it (but we had to wake her up to show her- so her initial reaction was a bit lacking). And her favorite part was of course the desk (see below).
All in all, a fun (but crazy) birthday!! We love our little Hannah. She's got such a special place in our hearts (you know that place reserved for your most challenging child...yeah, that one!!). She's a perfect mix of chaos and cute...and we love her so much!! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

Hannah's First Recital

I think that the First Dance Recital is a must have in every girl's life...and Hannah just experienced her own right of passage. And it was absolutely adorable. They danced to the tune "When I Grow Up" and were wearing these cute little Shirley Temple outfits (see below). And she had aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents all there cheering her on. So much stinkin' fun...I think I may just have to do it again!!
