found a new blog today

I found a new blog today. She's doing a giveaway. I'm blogging here for an extra chance to win. :) For my first chance to win all I had to do was come up with a healthy snack tip and put it in a comment; I thought of a few things. Lia has always liked peas BUT only if they're still frozen. (they're sweeter that way) She sometimes eats (and requests) "green leaves" (spinach) like her cousin who likes to pretend he's a dinosaur. Lately I've blended spinach in milk for dunking cookies. Too bad Lia won't touch anything that comes from a blender. It's how I sneak more green into my diet though :) oh! and we love cauliflower so i've been wanting to make "cauliflower popcorn" (break into small peices, toss with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake). I've heard of people doing this and finally googled it. Here is what I found. :) I actually found another first here and I even found a RAW version here . . . . that's about it :) PS Lia starts school monday. CRAZY!!! It's bittersweet.

Potty training diary

HOORAY!!!! Today I am SO proud of Lia! We were diaper free all day and no accidents!! AND she wasn't nude from the waist down either! She had underwear on! The most exciting part about today was that I didn't even put a diaper on her when we ran errands! She was afraid of the automatic flush at Sams and refused to go but we stopped for wings afterwards and she still needed to go and DID! It was not effortless on my part but ultimately she went TWICE while we were at the restaurant!! After the second time I think she was starting to believe it herself when she repeated me (over and over again)... "It's not scary."

It was SO hot in that bathroom and I was ready to go back and eat. I had a serious little talk with her but both times I had to force her into a sitting position and set her on her travel seat on the seat while she held on to me for dear life, all the while asking to go back to Daddy.

Poor baby. Progress is progress. After all the drama was over when we were leaving the bathroom the second time she told me "Mommy, I lub you." Awwww, that's what keeps me going :) I love her. She's the best! :)

Another way to get Amazon gift cards???

I just discovered this websight when a friend posted her link on FB. It seems cool and potentially an easy way to get amazon.com gift cards!! AWESOME!! I've created a few lists so far ... kind of a fun way to waste some time. We'll see if I get any money out of it.

You should check it out, oh and rate my lists highly of course. :) :)
I'll return the favor :)

Lia thinks I'm HOT!! :)

We were sitting there and she came over to me and blew on my arm, said, "Hot!", then fanned me with her hand! So funny!

Poor girl woke up today with a failed diaper and a bloody nose! But she's so sweet. It was a little after that that she was playing and I was, oh so tired, sitting on the couch with my head laying to the side. She got up and played in front of me so I had to turn my head to see her and she noticed and came over, gently grabbed my face and turned it so I'd be laying on the couch pillow again! Aww! I love her! She is so sweet and funny! I can't imagine life without her! Although.. I do miss the days when bedtime wasn't just before the sun rises.

Last night Lia bumped back her bedtime even more (!) and was still awake at 5:30!! Hopefully she goes to bed before that tonight! I'm super tired and have to take Efrain in to dialysis today. If she stays awake as long as last night she'll still be awake when we leave and will have to come along with us! Myabe if we keep bumping bedtime later and later eventually it will be at a 'normal' time. There have been a few freak days this last month or so that all of a sudden she woke up at 6 AM and was good for the day but that night/the next day go back to our ridiculous schedule.
I would wake her up early but I'm always SO exhausted that I don't wake up earlier than she does and sometimes it doesn't work anyway, she just goes back to sleep.
It got really bad when she she was sick and took two naps and then she got to where she wouldn't nap until really late (time for bed late) and I thought that maybe she'd sleep through the night but after 2 hours she was up and ready to go! She MUST nap. Because when she goes to sleep (no matter how late) she treats it as a nap! :( It makes for one really exhausted momma.

AWW! As I type this Lia's been sitting in her chair, eating multigrain cheerios. She finished the miniscule amount I gave her, drank the milk, and asked for more. (She won't accept more unless she's first drank the milk.) And this time she said PLEASE!! I've been working on that for a while. There were many times that because of her stubborness she didn't get any more because she wouldn't say please! I think it was because usually when people said please to her it meant that they were asking for something she had. So when I would say please for her to repeat it she thought I was trying to take something from her. Luckily for me she has picked up other things from just hearing us say them: "thank you", "excuse me", "bless you", etc.
