Decorating Christmas cookies!

We had the Walkers over for tamales and decorating Christmas cookies (since they keep feeding us!) It was a lot of fun! I think all the kids were on sugar overload afterwards, though! We should do this during the day next time!

Tye's birthday party

Thanks to lots of friends and family, Tye had a great 3rd birthday party. He loved all of his gifts!

Whirlwind weekend

This weekend we celebrated Tye's birthday. A lot of family and friends were able to join us for the fun. We had my parents, Aaron and Jodi (his new fiance), Rachael and Jordan (her new fiance), Laurie and Aaron all stay the weekend. They got in late Friday night, and Saturday we had Tye's party then Michael took the couples downtown to the Bob Bullock museum. Mom, Dad and I stayed while Tye and Kenadie took their naps...they stayed up past midnight waiting for my family to come in. We all went to Rudy's for some scrumptious bar-b-que! The Walkers met us for that. After eating we stopped by the big oak tree in Cedar Park covered in Christmas lights! It was so pretty! Rachael and Jordan went back home that night, and the others stayed and went to church with us Sunday at 1pm, then headed back home. I am so happy the were all able to come. We missed the Hasson family, but we just hope Lily is feeling better!

Katie's not crazy...

Poor Katie just called me to see if we were getting snow and ice up our way...we are about 10 minutes further north. We definitely were, as I was just sitting here listening to it. She had already called some people and no one seemed to see what she was seeing, so we both took pics to prove it! The news sites still say there is a slim chance of snow and sleet...yeah, I don't know where they are, but I am staring at it!

Happy Birthday Tye!

Tye Michael is 3 today! It is cliche, but I cannot believe how fast time flies. I remember taking the pregnancy test, my mom coming in that weekend, and me being so excited when told her the news. Although the pregnancy and labor were difficult, he was worth all of it. He is such a sweet boy, he loves his family and is not afraid to show it. He is also ALL boy, and has his moments of full-on tantrums where I think he may actually be possessed at the moment, but we love him anyway! He can count to 10, and say some of his ABC's. His favorite thing is to count his toys over and over again...maybe he will be a math genius and he won't need my help! He goes in for his 3yr check up in a couple of weeks, and I will post stats then. He is starting "interactive play" by himself, and that is helpful while I am tending to his little sister. He is full of life and energy, and he keeps me busy! He tells me he loves me all the time, and when he upsets me, he takes my chin in his little hand, and says, "I'm sorry, Mommy, I won't do it again, I love you." (and then 30 minutes later has to go through the same routine because he did it again...lol) I love him more than life itself, and cannot imagine not having his beautiful smile and vibrant eyes to look at every day. I love you, Tye Michael. Happy 3rd birthday!

After McDonald's, Tye and his Daddy went to go see Bolt. He LOVED it, but it was a bit late for him! When they got home, Kenadie and I were waiting with presents. Don't worry, he will have a cake on Saturday!

"Date Night"

We had a date night this past weekend with Jess and Mary. We went to an Asian food restaraunt that Jess and Michael frequent for lunch during the week. It was pretty good, but, I am not sure I see why they like it so much. We went for hot chocolate at Starbucks, then to a late movie. It was a lot of fun, and we are so lucky to have such great friends we can do that with!

Michael's office party was at the new Long Center downtown. We were on the top floor, with top to bottom glass windows. We had a corner table and the view was amazing! I got to dress up in a sparkly blue dress with a faux fur shrug and pretty earrings!
